This summertime plein air event invites more than 150 regional artists to spend a day creating original works across the Arboretum’s 66 acres of lush gardens, water features, and sculptural vignettes. Guests are encouraged to explore the grounds and observe artists as they paint, draw, collage, or print in real time—each responding to the dynamic intersection of nature and creativity.

The event takes place during the exhibition Hunt Slonem at the Arboretum: Bunnies, Birds & Butterflies, with sculptures by the renowned neo-expressionist artist placed throughout the garden. While not required, participating artists are welcome to incorporate these sculptures into their compositions as part of their creative response to the setting.

Selected works from the event will be curated into a public gallery exhibition in August, with a juried prize awarded for Best in Show.

Fusion Art announces the Waterscapes 2026 Art Competition.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art depicting waterscapes. The theme includes any art which depicts any type of body of water including the ocean, lakes, rivers, ponds, streams, coastal living, any ocean activities, seaside vistas, beaches, and any related seashore or lakeside subjects. It can also include rain, puddles and frozen waterscapes.

All artists, regardless of location or experience, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography.

Hands-on Residency is a six-week online programme dedicated to support contemporary artists and designers by fostering critical reflection and cultural exchange. 



Developing a More Human Future frames the fourth edition of Hands-on Residency as a collective space for rethinking what it means to live together across distances, cultures, and experiences - at a time when more human forms of language, attention, and relation feel increasingly necessary.



The programme will culminate in a final exhibition curated by Senem Cagla Bilgin-Keys, held at A Space Residence (London) in July.

The Interlace Grant Writing Mentorship Program pairs an artist who has written successful grants in the past with an emerging visual artist who is newer to grant writing. Mentors will help Emerging and Mid-Career Artists (“Mentees”) with the Interlace Project Grant application processes as well as provide general mentoring support.

The human figure has been a subject for artists for thousands of years, grounding people in who they are individually and collectively. From ancient cave paintings to contemporary questions of identity, authorship and representation, documenting one's self and capturing the likenesses of others is deeply human. For this Supporter Call for Entry, artists are invited to submit figurative work in any medium. Whether you use traditional or alternative media, realism or abstraction, share work that contemplates the human form.

Maude Kerns Art Center is currently accepting submissions for its 2027 & 2028 Exhibits Seasons. Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces its 33rd “Solo Art Series” Online Art Competition.

There is no theme for this solo art competition so any subject matter and any media are acceptable for consideration. The gallery will judge the Top 12 artists who have the most complete “Body of Work” to show. Both 2D & 3D artists (including photography & digital arts) are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art.

The Providence Art Club invites artists from across the United States to apply for its annual National Open Juried Exhibition, one of the most popular exhibitions of its kind. Recognized as one of the top three galleries in Rhode Island by the Providence Journal, the Art Club has received coveted Best of Rhode Island Awards for Best Art Gallery in Providence each year since 2019. This exhibition is open to work in any media, theme, or style and the show will be juried by Leah Triplett, Curator of Contemporary Art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA). $6,000 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Interlace Emergency Grants are intended to mitigate the harmful effects of emergency situations and crises. These grants are meant to function as small interventions and expressions of support and solidarity with local visual artists. Emergency Grants are open to self-identifying visual artists whose primary residence is within a 10-mile radius of Providence and in the state of Rhode Island. Interlace is able to distribute up to $1250 per month in grants of up to $500. If applicants do not receive funding, they may re-apply. If applicants do receive funding but the amount is less than $500, they may re-apply as long as they do not receive more than $500 total during the calendar year.

Africa Geographic announces a photography competition celebrating African wildlife and landscapes. The winner and runners-up receive accommodation at Munazi Lodge, providing photographers with both recognition and the opportunity to continue their wildlife photography in Africa.

FVU:LAB provides opportunities for four UK-based emerging moving image artists to work with cutting-edge technologies at Nottingham Trent University's new Design and Digital Arts building. Artists can apply for specific project outcomes or research and development time to explore technology integration into their practice. Selected artists receive mentoring from FVU's Director and potential presentation opportunities at NTU and on FVU's digital channels.

Fundación Botín awards six art grants annually to support individual artistic projects involving training, research, and production. The grants cover living expenses, travel, accommodation, studio rental, equipment, and production costs. One grant is reserved for Spanish artists or Spanish residents under 30 relocating abroad. Selected works are presented in the annual Itinerarios exhibition at Centro Botín with accompanying catalogue. The foundation may acquire works for its collection.

The 9th Annual PROUD+ Exhibition will be held June 19 - July 31, 2026, during San Diego Pride Month, showcasing the work of LGBTQ+ artists from across the country. Produced by The Studio Door, this national exhibition celebrates the unique perspectives and voices of the LGBTQ+ community through contemporary art.

For nearly a decade, PROUD+ has provided a vital platform for LGBTQ+ artists to express their creativity, identity, and lived experiences. From bold declarations of self to quiet explorations of inner worlds, this exhibition seeks to highlight the richness and diversity of LGBTQ+ life and culture. Artists are invited to submit works that reflect their own interpretations of pride, resilience, and community. You're encouraged to share their truth, amplify their voice, and contribute to the ongoing conversation around LGBTQ+ identity in the arts.

The national acquisitive Sunshine Coast National Art Prize is a dynamic visual arts award reflecting outstanding contemporary 2D and new media arts practice in Australia. Since 2006, the exhibition presents the remarkable finalist works by artists from across the country. The artwork awarded with the Major Prize will be acquired into the Sunshine Coast Art Collection. The People’s Choice Award is also decided by way of public vote by exhibition visitors.

Annual prize for contemporary art from UK and Republic of Ireland. Main winner receives £10,000 cash plus stand at The Other Art Fair. Multiple category awards including Students Award, Art Educators Award, Solo Show Award, and Emerging Artist Award. Shortlisted artists exhibit at The Bomb Factory, London. The Hopper Prize is now accepting entries for their Spring 2026 artist grants. For this open call, they have increased grant amounts to $4,500. They will be providing 6 grants totaling $13,000 USD.

2 artists will each receive $4,500 and 4 artists will each receive $1,000.

Escape to the Southernmost Point and make new work in a place that has drawn artists, writers, and rule-breakers for generations. Nearly 40 artists annually receive housing at The Studios of Key West in a renovated guesthouse with private studios, plus time and space to create. Residents are encouraged to engage the community through optional workshops, readings, or talks. Additional benefits include yoga classes, a sunset sail, and a bicycle for exploring the island. With a 12–13% acceptance rate, PEAR supports artists with strong vision in a vibrant cultural hub grounded in the spirit of One Human Family.

The organization provides 2-week and 4-week artist residencies in rural Maine at the edge of the North Woods. Studios are outfitted for various artistic practices with access to wood and metal shops. The program supports both emerging and established artists across all visual art mediums including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, film, video, new media, and installation.

The mission of the 2026 Swan Hill Print and Drawing Acquisitive Awards is to promote excellence in Australian prints and drawings; present an outstanding exhibition of contemporary Australian prints and drawings, and continue to build a high-quality collection for Art Gallery of Swan Hill. Two awards will be given. One print and one drawing will be acquired by Art Gallery of Swan Hill. Selected artists will receive the value of their work and an additional amount up to a total of $10,000.

The Abbey Mural Prize supports projects with substantial grants for creating or restoring public murals. The program especially prioritizes projects promoting accessibility and serving local audiences. While traditionally supporting paintings or mosaics on walls, the prize encourages proposals that broaden and expand the definition of contemporary murals. Projects are selected by a jury of National Academicians.

Project proposals must be for sites located within the United States, Tribal Nations, or U.S. territories, including American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Projects must have an intended start date before June 30, 2027.

This year they are accepting a few types of proposals: site-specific installations in Luther Barn, outdoor installations, and performances. They will prioritize interactive and immersive proposals. They want to see your haunted games, your creepy trick or treat stations, and all of the spooky experiences you dream up.

Artists will have complete creative control over their installation, as long as they keep their work PG-13. They’re looking for artists who are excited to participate and get weird, and who are self-directed and independent with their projects. For installation artists, they offer housing in one of their residency houses (for 1–4 weeks between October 2 and November 3) alongside private studio space in Maxon Mills, and additional studio space in Luther Barn. They offer all participating artists and artistic teams a modest honorarium.

History is made in minutes and hours that culminate in days, weeks, months, and years of consequences from decisions and actions. The exhibition, 2,191,464 Hours of History asks you to choose a point in American History and react to it as an artist. To acknowledge the 250th Birthday of the United States, you're invited to choose a moment or period in history that is significant to you and express that importance and/or consequence through a work of art. All media are welcome.
The M. G. Nelson Family Gallery at the Springfield Art Association in Springfield, Illinois will present this exhibition from July 3rd through July 31, 2026.

WMG invites women and non-binary artists to submit works that feature encaustic materials or techniques, either wholly or in part. Artists must incorporate hot wax methods in their submitted works. The exhibition focuses specifically on the encaustic medium and its various applications in contemporary art practice.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces the 16th Annual “Landscapes” Online Art Competition.

Both 2D & 3D artists (including photography & digital art), regardless of where they reside, are invited to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational or abstract art.

The “Landscapes” theme will be the artist’s interpretation and depiction of the natural world, outdoor scenery, geographical environments, scenic vistas and related landscape subjects.

1. Phase I - Finalists will be notified by July 15, 2026 of their selection for inclusion in the Raphael Prize exhibition and catalogue.


2.  Phase II - The prize-winning entry will be chosen from among the works submitted by these finalists for the second round of jurying. The winner of the prize will be notified by May 1, 2027 (embargo) and the winner will be announced at the exhibition opening. The Jonathan and Barbara Silver Foundation offers an annual grant to support writers who generate fresh writing and thinking on the history, aesthetics, purposes, imagination, or situation of sculpture. The foundation encourages writers from all backgrounds to explore sculptural rhetoric and contribute to the field. Recipients have one year to complete their project with progress reporting requirements.

VAA OpenSpaces is the global, artist-led exhibition initiative that transforms everyday spaces into vibrant art experiences – from cafes, studios and shop windows to digital venues and community hubs. Their aim is to help artists get seen, connect with audiences, and develop their creative careers on your own terms.

The Keyholder Residency Program offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. It takes place in the shared Artists’ Studio, including the solvent/etching area and the darkroom. Keyholders work independently, in a productive atmosphere alongside other contemporary artists. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; printmaking skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking techniques is available for new Keyholders. Technical assistance is not included in the program, but is available at additional cost.
Applications are evaluated by an invited panel of artists, critics, curators, and art professionals.

WATER WORLD is an international call for artists addressing water issues. You will need to become a member of ecoartspace to apply. All media. Selected artists will be included in printed book, forthcoming in 2027.
