Grant opportunity for the Emerging Artist Program
This program is designed specifically for artists who are beginning their career with very little experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at any venue. The application procedure and fee are the same as the regular show however, upon acceptance, emerging artists will pay a lower booth fee $350, have a tent provided and includes workshop, artist mentoring, support for lodging and will sell and showcase their work at the 2025 CCAF.

CherryArts is thrilled to offer a grant support for artists. In conjunction with the emerging artist program, selected artists will receive a $5,000 grant to enhance and expand their creative practices. This funding is unrestricted, allowing artists to pursue their careers and support all aspects of their work, which is not limited to creating the actual artwork. Upon signing the grant contract, 90% of funds will be disbursed to the artist providing them with immediate support. Artists are required to submit a report and have an exit interview detailing how they utilized the funds within 7 months of receiving the grant (September). Following the submission of the report, the final 10% will be released.

The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation and the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority (DDA) are collaborating to fund a mural installation in Liberty Plaza to enhance the downtown experience for all people. They seek to commission an artist or artist team to design and paint the concrete walls in Liberty Plaza in downtown Ann Arbor, MI. The three-tiered sunken plaza creates a unique urban canvas for artists to design a mural. This project's design should be colorful, fun, and non-representational in subject.

Gallery 130, located at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi will host a juried exhibition in Spring 2025. Following the submission deadline, a juror will select work centered around an exhibition theme of their choice. A juror will be identified sometime in the month of October. This call will be updated with the juror's name soon. Artists who are selected will be asked for artist statements and more information in preparation for the exhibition.

Alchemy Art Center hosts a seasonal artist residency program on San Juan Island, WA for artists working in the mediums of ceramics, printmaking, fiber art, or darkroom photography. Alchemy’s AIR program is a unique opportunity to live in an immersive arts community on San Juan Island, connect with the wider SJI community via teaching and outreach activities, and have focused time to create art in an environment that supports collaboration, cross-pollination, and innovation. Artists-in-Residence are encouraged to work in all of Alchemy’s focus areas (regardless of their area of expertise), and experiment with mediums they may not have tried before.

Applications are now open to join the EFA Studio Program. This highly regarded program offers professional visual artists subsidized studios, curatorial visits, and a supportive community in Midtown Manhattan. Artists are selected by a panel of art professionals based on an anonymous review of images, videos, and a short statement. There is no application fee and EFA welcomes artists living within commuting distance of Manhattan.

The Artist-in-Residence Program at SUNY Oswego brings an artist to campus for one academic semester (Fall 2025 or Spring 2026) to produce a body of work, teach in the area of their specialty, and to conduct research. The resident artist is given the opportunity to pursue research and realize a specific project while drawing on the University’s resources, including its facilities, faculty and student body, practice and performance space, studios, libraries and collections.

A central focus of this residency program is on artistic work that engages with issues of diversity, intersectionality, inclusion, and belonging, including but not limited to the experiences and lived realities of marginalized or minoritized communities or individuals. Candidates who are members of underrepresented or minoritized groups are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Mudhouse is an artist residency located in the village of Agios Ioannis on the Island of Crete, Greece. The Mudhouse Residency aims to provide artists inspiration derived from an engagement with the stunning natural beauty of its environment, solitude to foster creative growth, an artistic community to enrich professional practices, and an immersive cultural experience within a profoundly rich historical context.  Started in 2015 and now in its tenth year, the Mudhouse offers its two-week residency sessions each summer for international contemporary artists working across a manifold of artistic disciplines, from paint, to ceramics, to experimental film.

Artist-in-residence program provides opportunities for artists in the field of contemporary art to cultivate their artistic creativity and vision since 1994. Located around an hour from Tokyo, a residency at ARCUS Studio allows participants in the program to come into contact with the contemporary art scene in Japan as well as devote themselves to their creative endeavors in a calm environment while interacting with the local community. Through the support the program offers from its dedicated team of coordinators and regular tutorials with a curator, artists are able to search for and explore approaches in their practices and undertake new challenges in their artistic expression.

THEME – FRESH ART What new directions are you taking with your art? Show something new, something not encountered before, or a new approach to your art. Artwork that is forward or bold, expressive, engaging, stimulating, creative and infused with imagination are especially invited.

Open to painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, mixed media, fiber art, ceramics and all types of fine art crafts. (No film or video.) The show will be presented in two forms – an online presentation in the MSA “Virtual Gallery” which will include the price and contact information of the artist. In addition, a video version showing all works in the show will be produced and will remain available to view after the show closes.

As part of an ongoing commitment to promote drawing practices in the visual arts, the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites artists to submit entries to a Juried International Exhibition of contemporary drawing. UNC Asheville seeks to examine drawing as it is practiced and defined by today’s artists. Such an exhibition will demonstrate the continued significance of drawing through conventional and innovative methods. Accepted work will be exhibited in UNC Asheville’s S. Tucker Cooke Gallery from January 17, 2025, through February 14, 2025.

The ​Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, seeks artists for the national plein air painting festival, Paint Grand Traverse: a plein air affair, now in its seventh year. Paint Grand Traverse is a plein air (outdoor) painting festival and competition featuring 32 artists from across the country.

In CommonWealth: Kentucky Art, Craft, & Design is a juried exhibition that celebrates the distinct yet interconnected practices of art, craft, and design. This Kentucky-wide exhibit highlights our shared origins while honoring the differences, championing the essential similarities and distinctions in how and why creative work is produced.

In CommonWealth: Kentucky Art, Craft, & Design is open to all artists, designers, and craftspeople, over the age of 18 residing in Kentucky. This exhibit is juried by artist and educator Kurt Gohde, Professor of Art of Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky.

Visionary Art Collective is partnering with Warnes Contemporary Gallery in New York City to present their annual in-person juried group exhibition, Those Who Tend, curated by Kaylan Buteyn. This call is a reflection for "those who tend"—an invitation to submit work created amidst the challenges of balancing a life full of responsibilities. Artist parents who are juggling their art practice, careers, domestic tasks, caregiving, and carving out time for self-care are invited to submit their work.

It's that time again: every three years, the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen awards the "Linocut Today" graphic design prize, now in its thirteenth year. Founded in 1989, the prize has long since become an institution and has established itself as one of the most important international graphic design awards: its focus on a single technique is also an absolutely unique selling point. All forms of artistic linocut are welcome: from small-format black and white sheets to huge colorful works. There are no limits to imagination and creativity!

The award-winning works will be acquired for the linocut collection of the Städtische Galerie Bietigheim-Bissingen. Furthermore, the jury decides on the purchase of three further works and determines the exhibits for the exhibition. A catalogue will be published.

Established in 1980, this internationally renowned program annually awards visual artists of all mediums the opportunity to live and create site-specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. Up to 4 artists are selected for residencies at Bernheim. One residency is always dedicated to an artist currently living in Kentucky or Clark and Floyd counties in Southern Indiana, and one residency is always dedicated to an artist whose work addresses environmental issues and the climate crisis.

The Arts and Recreation Foundation of Overland Park in cooperation with the City of Overland Park is seeking art concepts to consider for permanent acquisition to be installed in the LongHouse Visitor Center at 8909 W. 179th Street, Overland Park, Kansas. This space is the new entry and event space at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. Surrounded by picturesque scenery, LongHouse Visitor Center welcomes guests to the expansive gardens. Permanent art that reflects the beauty of the gardens and landscapes in the Arboretum is needed in this distinctive space.

Massachusetts-based artist(s) and Massachusetts-based organizations working with artist(s), are welcome to apply for a project grant. Projects must take place in Massachusetts and creatively cultivate expressions or embodiments of spatial justice through public artmaking. All artistic disciplines are welcome to apply. Public Art for Spatial Justice grants range from $15,000-$30,000, for up to two-year grant period beginning March 2025 through February 2027.

Now in its fifth year, Wales Contemporary / Cymru Gyfoes is an international open competition developed by the Waterfront Gallery with support from the Welsh Government.

Wales Contemporary invites artists from all around the world to enter work in 2D or 3D and any subject matter. Accepted mediums include painting, sculpture, drawing, print, ceramic, glass, textile, collage, mixed media, and more. (Please note that photography, digital prints and film are not accepted)

Approximately 150 works will be selected for Wales Contemporary which will be on show at The Garrison Chapel, Chelsea Barracks in February 2025 followed by a touring show at Waterfront Gallery, Milford Haven in March 2025.

The Topeka Competition celebrates national artists working in three-dimensional media. It offers a unique opportunity within a public library setting to showcase the newest, most innovative work in contemporary arts and crafts. Juror is Mona Cliff who is known for artworks concerning her personal history and heritage. The Topeka Competition is partially funded by the Friends of the Library.

Johnson City Public Art’s leased sculpture program seeks to enhance downtown Johnson City through the incorporation of public art. Sculptures in the Phil Pindzola Biennial Sculpture Exhibition are placed on a two-year rotation; the next round of sculpture will be fully installed by June 2025.

Carbondale Arts is now accepting applications for their highly anticipated annual fashion extravaganza. The 2025 show will be held March 6-8, all three nights sell out (600 tickets) every year! Applications are due December 4, 2024.

Clothing must be sustainably created using primarily (75%) organic or sustainably tagged fabrics, up-cycled and/or recycled materials and made by designer or in a fair trade and/or locally-sourced scenario.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces their 2024 “Winter 5 for $10” Online Art Competition.

For this competition, all 2D and 3D artists, from around the world, are called upon to make online submissions for possible inclusion into the Gallery’s “Winter 5 for $10” online group art exhibition.

This is an open art competition and the gallery invites artists, regardless of where they reside, to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational and/or abstract art.

The artwork for this competition does NOT need to be “winter” themed. Any subject matter and any media are acceptable for consideration.

While the history of art collecting is dominated by accounts of wealthy patrons and institutions, this exhibition aims to shift focus to artists themselves as collectors, examining how their personal collections inform and interact with their creative practice. They seek to challenge traditional exhibition formats by creating an environment that mirrors the organic, personal space of an artist's studio rather than a conventional white cube gallery setting.

Causability grants are provided to creators are rooted in the belief that local Creator as Activists have the unique perspective needed to address the challenges and opportunities in their communities. By empowering these individuals through financial support, Causability helps turn their innovative ideas into reality. Creators often know their communities best, seeing both the problems and potential solutions firsthand, and our grants offer them the resources to make a tangible difference.

The grants are tailored for creators who may not yet be involved with a local nonprofit organization, providing them with the opportunity to develop new programs in partnership with these organizations. The goal is to foster collaborations that address the needs of underserved or socio-economically marginalized areas through creative mediums.

This group exhibition will center the experiences of artists with ties to Colorado who self-identify as a member of the AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) community, exploring how their stories of migration, settlement, and identity from the global "East" to the global "West" have both embraced and challenged the legacy of the American West. Artists are encouraged to submit works of any medium for consideration for exhibition within the McMahon Gallery housed at The Dairy Arts Center, Boulder, CO.

This exhibition will be juried by Rajiv Menon, founder of Rajiv Menon Contemporary in Los Angeles, and Roseline Michael Neveling, founder of Neveling Arts+Culture in New York City.

Textile Center is pleased to announce the sixth year of McKnight Fellowship for Fiber Artists. The intent of this program is to recognize and support midcareer (and beyond!) fiber and textile artists living and working in Minnesota who demonstrate a sustained level of accomplishment, commitment, and artistic excellence in the field.

Artists are invited to enter 2D and 3D innovative artwork of original design. The exhibition will be juried by the Fiber Art Now creative team and will be featured in the Spring 2025 issue of Fiber Art Now.
Denver Botanic Gardens in Denver, Colorado, will present works from Contemporary Fiber: Botanicals, selected from the Fiber Art Now print exhibition by the Gardens’ curatorial team. As the quarter century approaches, the Morgan Conservatory hosts its 13th Annual Juried Exhibition. This year artists are invited to reflect on the theme of the exhibition, Interwoven Aspects: Innovation and Tradition in Paper Art. Artists are encouraged to respond to the ever-changing landscape in the upcoming quarter century and what it brings; whether that is the rise of AI and other technologies, the idea of intersectionality or the transformative nature of paper as a medium and substrate. Artwork encompassing this theme is eligible for submission. This year’s exhibition is juried by Ashley Pastore and Kelly Taylor Mitchell.

The Dayton Society of Artists (DSA) is pleased to present The Future of Female, an exhibition focused on the ideals, hopes, and experiences of women identifying artists. The call for art is open to any women identifying artists who are 18 years or older and who live, work, or attend school in the state of Ohio. All art in any medium, style, and technique will be considered. Art must be original. $600 in prizes will be awarded; the juror is McLean Emenegger.

The DSA is a non-profit member-based organization. It was founded in 1938 and acquired a Victorian house in the 1960s which was then converted into a gallery. The DSA’s mission is to “connect, support, and educate artists and the community.”

Ruth Foundation for the Arts invites applications for its Special Project Grants program, awarding project funding to small and mid-size nonprofit visual and performing arts organizations situated on land presently known as Wisconsin. The program aims to build a robust and equitable arts ecosystem by investing in projects that have long-term cultural and structural impact for their communities. Of particular interest are initiatives that rethink and reimagine past practices, bring an expansive range of voices into public and artistic discourse, and contribute to a more complex and abundant understanding of the histories, lived experiences, and futures of this region.

On behalf of the City of Lake Oswego, the Arts Council of Lake Oswego (ACLO) is pleased to invite artist submissions of up to three works of art per artist to be considered for outdoor public display in Lake Oswego’s nationally recognized outdoor Gallery Without Walls rotating collection. In its twenty-fifth year, this program’s mission is to integrate art into the daily lives of residents and visitors.

The entry fee is $25. They do offer a fee waiver for whoever needs the waiver for financial reasons.

The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's (WMATA) Art in Transit program invites Artists/Artist Teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, public art projects to submit their qualifications for a permanent public artwork for the Dupont Circle Metro station's iconic North Entrance.

The selected Artist/Artist Team will develop an aesthetically attractive, site-specific public artwork that captures WMATA's mission, and reflects the artistic, cultural and/or historical interests of the surrounding communities. The public artwork is to be implemented within the circular opening of the North Entrance escalator well and integrate elements of biophilia.

The JCPRD Public Art Program is interested in commissioning an artist or artist team to create a site-specific, temporary art installation at the entrance of Theatre in the Park, located within Shawnee Mission Park, at 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee, KS 66218. The installation will be unveiled during the opening night of Theatre in the Park’s outdoor season in late May 2025 and be on display through fall of 2026. The artist will also be asked to develop and lead one community engagement activity or educational program, at no cost to members of the public, related to the artwork development process or the artwork itself.

The City is looking to commission an artist located in the tri-county area of Pompano Beach for a work for hire project to design and fabricate that design on a Painted Pompano fish sculpture. The pompano fish is the City’s namesake and a symbol of the identity of Pompano residents. Once completed, the sculpture will be placed at Lyons Park. The Painted Pompano sculpture will be individualized by the artist. The theme for the design is air, land, and sea. An anti-graffiti and UV Resistant Coating must be applied. All applications must be submitted on the provided template and materials must also be listed.

The library is now seeking a visionary sculptor to create large-scale artwork(s) that will complement the restored fountain and breathe new life into the courtyard. The ultimate goal is for the sculpture(s) to provide a shading opportunity with the possibility that the climbing plant material aspect may not be utilized - it really depends on the vision and creativity of each artist!
This sculpture is not just an aesthetic addition but a symbol of renewal and community spirit. It is envisioned as a piece that will resonate with themes of storytelling and literature—an endless narrative that invites contemplation and connection among visitors.

The Artists in Queens Grant supports artists that live in Queens for the creation of new work in a community setting. These grants highlight the role of artists as important members of the community as they enhance the cultural climate in communities and neighborhoods where they live and work. Applicants may make only one project request of $3,000. Unincorporated artist groups and collectives may also apply, with a Queens-based artist member acting as the lead applicant for their proposal. Successful applications will show how the requested funds will: Strengthen community bonds; Increase overall awareness and greater access to cultural activities in Queens; Advance the applicant artist’s career; Engage with the community.

The Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation grant is one of the most prestigious grants available to emerging representational artists, as well as one of the most substantial. It is one of the longest standing, with an illustrious history of recipients spanning more than half a century. The Foundation provides financial assistance, by way of grants, to young artists who are pursuing their studies or are in the early stage of their career, are working in a representational style of painting, drawing, sculpture or printmaking, and demonstrate the determination and talent to pursue a lifetime career in their art practice.

2025 Round 1 Individual Artist Grants. Individual Artist grants support the creation of new work by individual artists residing in Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Tioga counties. The goal of this grant is to support the creative work of individual artists in all disciplines while encouraging interaction between artists and community members. All created artwork must be made accessible to the community through an activity or platform that can be accessible to the general public. Grants ranging up to $3,000 are available to individual artists. More detailed information on eligibility and qualifications is found in the grant guidelines.

The Louisiana Percent for Art Program invites qualified artists to submit their credentials for consideration in the commission of an exterior sculptural installation for the Chemistry and Materials Building at Louisiana State University (LSU). This public art project aims to create a visually compelling and intellectually engaging piece that reflects the innovation and scientific advancements of the disciplines housed within the building.

Artwork should captivate the imagination of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, engaging curiosity and appreciation for the sciences. The artwork should enhance the building's exterior and create a cohesive visual experience.

SU-CASA is a community arts engagement program that places artists and organizations in residence at senior centers across the five boroughs of New York City. The program, funded in FY25 by the New York City Council, provides grants to artists and organizations for the creation and delivery of arts programming for seniors. Teaching artists will engage participating seniors in an art project or series of cultural programs over the course of the residency, which will also include a public program component – an exhibit, reading, performance, open houses or other cultural interactions open to the surrounding community. Individual artists-in-residence will receive a stipend in the amount of $6000, an additional $2000 materials/supplies budget, and access to materials and supplies from Materials for the Arts. Individual artists are expected to provide a minimum of 20 contact hours of activity and can apply directly to participate in the program without a fiscal sponsor.

Biennial Competition - Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting 2025

Pelham Art Center is pleased to announce a call for entries for the 13th biennial Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition for Painting. This juried competition is open to U.S.-based artists aged 19 and older. The winner is awarded a $7,500 cash prize, a solo exhibition and a printed catalog at Pelham Art Center and $2,500 is divided among the finalists. Pelham Art Center is proud to sponsor this competition and award honoring the memory and artistic achievement of artist Alexander Rutsch (1916 – 1997). Rutsch actively supported Pelham Art Center for more than 25 years. After his death, friends, family, and supporters established a generous fund to support a biennial, juried competition in painting.

The Alexander Rutsch Award and Exhibition program continues Rutsch’s belief that art transcends all of our humanity. Rutsch saw art as “the stone in the water sending ripples throughout the universe.” His extraordinary work, rich in the celebration of life and our shared human experiences, is included in many public and private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe.

The New Gallery at Austin Peay State University offers space for a newly implemented summer artist-in-residence program. The purpose of the residency/exhibition is to bring outside contemporary artists to Clarksville and the TN Mid-state region and to provide studio space/time for experimentation with new ideas. The New Gallery is a 1500 square foot white cube gallery with 120 linear feet of wall space with 36 feet of moveable wall space. The New Gallery is generously funded by the Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA) and the Department of Art+Design at Austin Peay State University.

The mission of the Roman J. Witt Residency Program is to support an artist in the production of new work in association with the University of Michigan’s Stamps School of Art & Design. The program awards one residency per academic year to a visiting artist/ designer to create new work at the school while engaging the university community. They invite you to apply for the 2025 – 2026 Roman Witt Residency, specially themed to explore the upcoming United States Semiquincentennial (2026). They especially encourage social practice, performing, and performance artists with an interest in issues of national identity, commemorative practices and memory, and the history and future of the United States, to apply. 

Joshua Tree Highlands Artist Residency fosters creativity through opportunities for exploring, experimenting, quiet reflection, engagement and cross-cultural exchange with the vibrant local artist community. They establish spaces where inspiration happens on a daily basis, so artists can do the work of innovating, changing the cultural landscape and generating a fresh look at the way they connect to each other and to the world.

The Createability Internship Program supports up to 11 participants who are placed with up to 11 major NSW organisations across the arts, screen, sound and culture sectors. The program provides customised training followed by paid internships.
The desired outcomes of the program include increased skill development, employment and greater participation by people with disability or who are d/Deaf in arts, screen, sound and cultural organisations across NSW.
Arts, screen, sound and cultural organisations will host interns for a period of 4 weeks (20 days, 160 hours full-time) or up to 16 weeks (160 hours part-time). This will be decided to best meet the needs of both the host and the intern.

The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is an $8,000 unrestricted cash grant available to artists living in New York State and/or one of the Tribal Nations located therein. This grant is awarded in fifteen different disciplines over a three-year period (five categories a year) and the application is free to complete. The NYSCA/NYFA Artist Fellowship is not a project grant, but is intended to fund an artist’s vision or voice, at all levels of their artistic development.

Welcome to the 9th annual edition of the Visual Art Open Prize (VAO). Our mission is to celebrate and showcase the diverse talents of artists at every stage of their journey, from emerging talents to seasoned professionals. The £10,000 prize fund gives artists validation and visibility on a global platform, including a finalist exhibition in central London. Our esteemed judging panel is varied, from commercial galleries, to the museum sector, as well as professionals from the art media and academia.

The VAO Art Prize offers unparalleled exposure and an opportunity for artists to sell their artwork to an audience of over a million art collectors and enthusiasts alike. A prize fund of over £10,000 includes cash prizes, exhibition opportunities and career development support in partnership with the Visual Artists Association.

All fine arts media are acceptable (no crafts): watercolor, oils, acrylic, mixed media, printmaking, pastel, drawing, collage, sculpture, installation art, video (short), photography, original digital art, fiber art. Artist will be allowed to submit up to 6 images and/or 2 videos.

The virtual show dates will be February 1st through March 30th, 2025. A Zoom Reception and Awards Presentation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025, for artists, their guests and the public, at which time the award winners will be announced. The Zoom reception will be recorded.

Beam Center seeks design proposals for an ambitious public artwork to be brought to life through collaborations between youth, Beam Camp staff, and the selected proposer. Projects will be realized by a community of more than 100 young people at Beam Camp in the summers of 2025 and 2026.

Beam Camp, located in Strafford, NH, is a specialized summer camp focused on building and collaboration. The award-winning program provides youth (ages 10-17) with the opportunity to develop hands-on skills while exploring innovative thinking, design, problem-solving, and the creative process.

Each year, Beam Camp invites proposals for unique and spectacular large-scale projects that serve as the centerpiece of its 29-day session, where they are constructed and brought to life by 100 campers and over 20 staff members. The Project Team collaborates with the winning designers to adapt their project designs to the camp setting. Beam Center prides itself on the high level of craftsmanship and skill reflected in these projects and in the work of its staff and campers. Interested designers are encouraged to explore past projects.

This is more than an exhibition; it reflects the complex interplay between innovation and identity in our increasingly digital world.

Synthetica emphasizes the fusion of human and machine, pushing creative boundaries, while Alterica delves into themes of exclusion and connection, revealing how technology connects and divides. Winners gain significant exposure and further opportunities for professional involvement

The Silicon Valley International Contemporary Art Competition will announce its winners within 8 business days after the final registration date. Winners will receive certificates of recognition and their achievements will be highlighted in major media outlets across the UK, US, Europe, and beyond, granting them significant international exposure.
In addition to the online exhibition opportunity from December 30, 2024, to January 30, 2025, Exhibition grand prize winners will also secure a coveted spot in the 2025 group offline exhibition at ArtX Gallery. Furthermore, the recipient of the Exhibition Award will be invited to join the academic committee, enhancing their professional involvement in the art community.

If any winning artworks are sold during the competition or exhibition period, the artist will retain the full commission from these sales.

The Adachi Contemporary UKIYOE Award 2024 is now calling for 21st-century ukiyo-e artists. Ukiyo-e prints, loved worldwide, are the result of a collaborative effort by three artisans: the ukiyo-e artist, represented by masters like Hokusai and Hiroshige, who draws the original design; the carver, who meticulously carves the design onto woodblocks; and the printer, who transfers the image onto washi paper. The works created by these artists have served as a “mirror of the times,” reflecting the societal and cultural contexts of their era and captivating many people. Since its inception in 2009, the Adachi UKIYOE Award has sought artists to become the next generation of ukiyo-e artists, producing designs that serve as the foundation for modern ukiyo-e.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces the 14th Annual “All Women” Online Art Competition.

There is no theme for this competition, so any subject matter and any media are acceptable for consideration.

Both 2D & 3D women artists only, worldwide, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art.

The Artist Residency program was conceived of as a regenerative intercultural meeting place, where international artists can share experiences and sensibilities. The residency is aimed particularly at international artists who are enthusiastic about working within Toffia’s environment. The program offers artists the opportunity to confront new ideas or experiment with their work and the particular territory of Sabina region. The residency is open to individual professional artists working in visual arts, photography, film & video, music/sound art, media arts, performing arts/puppetry/marionettes, and creative writing.  Each residency period concludes with an Open Studios day.

New American Paintings sponsor six juried competitions per year. The forty winners of each competition receive a four-page, full-color spread in New American Paintings. FutureTense Awards, a new media arts competition aimed at emerging and young creative talents in Asia and beyond, the award promotes and showcases artistic excellence and innovation from new generations. With a global expert judging panel, we offer art, technology, and design resources to nurture young creatives by showcasing their innovative concepts through different channels.

Our Jackson Home, in partnership with the City of Jackson, is seeking proposals from artists or artist teams to create a functional art installation in an underutilized, high foot traffic sidewalk space of Anderson Park. The art should be installed on the sidewalks or on three existing twelve foot tall awnings, and must exclude seating. Use of the awnings in the installation is allowable, but relocation of the awnings is not allowable. This project aims to bring to life an underutilized space in the park and bring function and interaction to the area.

The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica leads in advancing printmaking processes through sustainable methods. Artists from around the globe come to the print studio to learn or enhance techniques that achieve remarkable results without traditional, toxic materials like acids, solvents, and rosin. For this program, a low-tourism period has been selected, allowing artists to experience the authentic charm of a peaceful Venetian winter. Printmakers are invited to participate in this exclusive Masterclass Residency, limited to 8 participants, featuring five 4-hour workshops focused on eco-friendly techniques and materials.

Bristol Community College and its Holocaust & Genocide Center in Fall River, Massachusetts, invite artists and artist teams to submit proposals for a public artwork that incorporates Bristol's collection of 1.5 million buttons, each representing a child murdered in the Holocaust. The buttons will be provided to you. Preference will be given to proposals that utilize the entire 1.5 million button collection. This project aims to honor the memory of these children and raise awareness about the atrocities of the Holocaust, fostering reflection and education among the community.
