ELIGIBILITY

Artists from any country are welcome to apply with works in any medium: painting, sculpture, digital, printmaking, fiber, photography, mixed media, installation, crafts, fashion, illustration, and more. Selected artists will be featured in Issue 12 set to release at the end of November 2024. Selected artists will be contacted via email for an interview.

There is no specific theme for this issue.

Tendrils is seeking submissions of visual art and short-form literature for its premiere issue. As an art and literary journal, Tendrils is dedicated to fostering healing and sparking conversations around trauma.

The first edition of Tendrils will explore the profound theme of trauma and the body—how it is held, manifested, and transmitted in physical form. Creators are invited to interpret this theme in their unique way, whether conceptually in abstraction or more realistically.

Art submissions in any medium or size that explore the themes of trauma and the body are welcome.

For literature, Tendrils is looking for short-form pieces (maximum 1,000 words) such as poetry, essays, and short stories that focus on this theme. The journal is also open to considering an excerpt if a long-form work aligns with the topic

Buckham Gallery invites you to enter Eros & Thanatos, a national competition established to explore the Greek words for Love and Death. Eros, Greek god of love and sex, and Thanatos, the personification of death, have been used throughout western culture to symbolize the driving forces of life, love, sexuality and creativity as well as acknowledging our own mortality. All styles, media, and interpretations are welcome and encouraged.

The Emergent Art Grant supplies artists in the beginning of their careers with unrestricted cash funds of $1000. Grants are given quarterly to those that show a high potential for growth and an overall successful art career.

All artists within the first ten years of their creative career are welcome to apply, and all creative media types will be considered. Whether you’re a painter, poet, dancer, or DJ, you have a spot here at The Emergent Art Grant.

Each residency will take place over a six-week period in which the artist resides and works in Alcalde, New Mexico. Artists will have access to and are encouraged to interact with the land, culture, and the extensive local historic archival materials at the sites, visitor center and surrounding area.

The culmination of the residency centers on the artist’s research and development of new work that showcases ideas and work created during their six-week stay at Los Luceros.

Public engagement opportunities include, but are not limited to: an artist talk or exhibition, workshop, temporary site-specific installations, performances, etc. Artwork and community engagement should be safe and appropriate for both children and adults, ADA compliant, and should not permanently alter the environment when removed.

The Red Bluff Art Gallery supports artists worldwide. The gallery shows international art and has for more than 16 years. They have sponsored more than 400 exhibitions, including international touring exhibitions. Selected art will be displayed online with their established website, social media and collector contacts. The virtual 3D immersive exhibit of your work, if selected by the jurors, will be linked directly to you for contact.

Entry fees assist in supporting the Accidental Animal Rescue Center, which provides sanctuary and habitat for many animals.

The Art in Public Places Program of New Mexico Arts and the Local Selection Committee (LSC) of Eastern New Mexico University, Portales seek to commission and artist/artist team to create and install artwork in the newly renovated Roosevelt Science Center on the campus. These artworks should require low maintenance and will need to withstand a permanent installation indoors in one or more of the three identified areas within the building. The LSC is primarily interested in two-dimensional artworks of all media suitable for installation on wall surface including, but not limited to, weaving/fiber, installations, painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, new media, and more. Style can range from representational to abstract in nature, but artwork themes should reflect the nature of the building’s science-centered focus.

Is an international juried competition hosted annually by the Clatsop Community College Royal Nebeker Art Gallery in Astoria, Oregon, with a focus on the time-honored tradition of the nude human figure, an art form that continues to inspire and challenge many artists today as one of the most potentially rewarding subjects to explore. This exhibit represents a wide range of interpretations of the human figure from representational to abstract, and is open to all artists from around the world working in any drawing, painting, and printmaking media in which the handmade mark is employed as the primary means of image-making. This year, a limited number of three-dimensional works may also be considered.

Images submitted must be on the theme of ‘Everyday Wonders’. Submissions will be judged on quality, creativity, originality, and visual/emotional impact.
Photography styles can include street photography, landscapes, natural world & wildlife, macro photography, lifestyle, object and still life and architecture. Technically manipulated images such as abstract, panoramic, stitched and composite are also permitted. Extra merit will be awarded to creative interpretation of the brief.
Entries are invited from photographers of all nationalities, living anywhere in the world. There is no limit to entries per person.

Every year KIRA awards 6 artists with a multi-week residency. Artists are provided with individual studio space, comfortable housing, two meals each day and live on a historic property in a beautiful seaside town. Artists should bring all supplies and materials needed for their creative process, to ensure availability of required supplies and provisions. As part of the residency, artists will be asked to engage with the community for up to six hours a week. These engagements will vary based on skills and interest and can include a partnership with Kingsbrae Garden which is located just steps away from the residence and studios.

Grant opportunity for the Emerging Artist Program
This program is designed specifically for artists who are beginning their career with very little experience exhibiting and selling their artwork at any venue. The application procedure and fee are the same as the regular show however, upon acceptance, emerging artists will pay a lower booth fee $350, have a tent provided and includes workshop, artist mentoring, support for lodging and will sell and showcase their work at the 2025 CCAF.

It's that time again: every three years, the town of Bietigheim-Bissingen awards the "Linocut Today" graphic design prize, now in its thirteenth year. Founded in 1989, the prize has long since become an institution and has established itself as one of the most important international graphic design awards: its focus on a single technique is also an absolutely unique selling point. All forms of artistic linocut are welcome: from small-format black and white sheets to huge colorful works. There are no limits to imagination and creativity!

The award-winning works will be acquired for the linocut collection of the Städtische Galerie Bietigheim-Bissingen. Furthermore, the jury decides on the purchase of three further works and determines the exhibits for the exhibition. A catalogue will be published.

As part of an ongoing commitment to promote drawing practices in the visual arts, the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNC Asheville) invites artists to submit entries to a Juried International Exhibition of contemporary drawing. UNC Asheville seeks to examine drawing as it is practiced and defined by today’s artists. Such an exhibition will demonstrate the continued significance of drawing through conventional and innovative methods. Accepted work will be exhibited in UNC Asheville’s S. Tucker Cooke Gallery from January 17, 2025, through February 14, 2025.

The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation and the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority (DDA) are collaborating to fund a mural installation in Liberty Plaza to enhance the downtown experience for all people. They seek to commission an artist or artist team to design and paint the concrete walls in Liberty Plaza in downtown Ann Arbor, MI. The three-tiered sunken plaza creates a unique urban canvas for artists to design a mural. This project's design should be colorful, fun, and non-representational in subject.

The ​Crooked Tree Arts Center in Traverse City, Michigan, seeks artists for the national plein air painting festival, Paint Grand Traverse: a plein air affair, now in its seventh year.
