ArtLab brings artists and scientists together to share viewpoints, observations, philosophies, and perspectives in their common quest to observe and understand the world around them. The ArtLab Artists-in-Residence program began informally in 2013 when 13 artists were invited to stay at Mountain Lake for part of the summer. Artists were recruited from Virginia, nationally, and globally. Most stayed for about two weeks. The program has continued ever since. Six artists-in-residence are invited to live and work at MLBS alongside six undergraduate student artists from the University of Virginia, and a Lucile Walton Fellow. Residents share studio space. All studio fees, user fees, and housing costs are covered by the program. The ArtLab program typically runs in early or mid July.

The Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) invites you to participate in the “Artistic Signal Box” project, an exciting initiative to transform 19 signal boxes into vibrant public art pieces. These boxes, located between the Zoo and Holman Road in the PhinneyWood area—a community born from the blend of Phinney Ridge and Greenwood—will celebrate the area’s rich creativity and community spirit.

The Kinder Padon Gallery at the Center for the Arts Crested Butte is seeking Colorado-based artists for a June 2025 group exhibition. Artists are invited to create works on blank skate decks, exploring traditional, non-traditional, and contemporary interpretations of the rainbow, with an emphasis on the use of color. This exhibition honors Pride Month, encouraging participation from allies and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Final works must be completed by May 1, 2025. Each year the Virginia A. Groot Foundation offers three grants to artists who have exceptional talent and demonstrated ability in ceramic sculpture or sculpture of diverse mediums. The Virginia A. Groot Foundation Grant was established so that ceramic sculpture artists or sculptors of diverse mediums may have the opportunity to devote a substantial period of time to the development of his or her own work. The Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art (PMJA) at Rodeph Shalom has a long tradition of art exhibitions. Last year, with the reopening of the exhibition programming, PMJA began with an open call exhibition, which turned out to be an overwhelming success, bringing a new vision for community, artists and attendance to our vibrant urban gallery. PMJA’s intention with this open call is to build on this momentum by inviting artists to reflect upon and give expression to the theme of “Tikkun Olam” – duty to confront the challenges of repairing our world. PMJA invite artists to submit works that give expression to this concept. A PMJA exhibition committee will be jurying the submissions and will select artworks that respond best to the theme and also work in dialogue as an exhibition.

A juried selection is held annually to award artists three-to-twelve month residencies. Artists selected for the program receive 24/7 access to studio space, cultural and professional development opportunities, a monthly stipend that includes a small housing/materials allowance, and the opportunity to give an artist talk. The Untitled Space invites artists to apply for a Solo Exhibition to take place at the gallery in Tribeca, New York in 2025. In honor of the WNBA All-Star Weekend, to be hosted in Indianapolis July 18-20, 2025, the Indy Arts Council will commission a new portrait mural depicting former Indiana Fever player and WNBA All-Star Tamika Catchings. Artists are invited to provide their interest and qualifications for this project. $60,000, covers artist fees, labor, and materials for a site approximately 45 ft. h. x 30 ft. w. (approx. 1350-1500 s.f.). With each mural the Arts Council commissions, Indy Arts Council offer the opportunity for an emerging Indianapolis-based muralist to serve as an apprentice to the lead artist. Apprentice artists spend approximately 100 hours working with the lead artist from design development through completion, learning how to design, plan, and paint a major civic-scale artwork. Apprentices are paid between $3,500 and $5,000 depending on the nature of the site.

Incinerator Gallery and Moonee Valley City Council invite expressions of interest from First Nations artists for a playable public art sculpture commission. The artwork will be temporarily installed at Incinerator Gallery to coincide with a major exhibition in mid-2025, before being permanently relocated to the neighbouring Maribyrnong River in Aberfeldie, Victoria, on Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung Country. For over 40,000 years, the Maribyrnong River has been a site of significant cultural connection for the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung First Peoples. Drawing on the diverse histories of the river, artists are encouraged to design a sculpture that explores themes of childhood, play, togetherness, and renewal. The design will reflect the river’s cultural and environmental significance, creating a public art sculpture that fosters inter-generational exchange.

This boutique show offers great visibility, enthusiastic buyers, and free parking. Pottery Farm Gallery offers a serene artist residency in the French countryside, accommodating up to five creative practitioners at a time. Residents live and work on a hillside farmhouse with 360° views of rolling hills and the Pyrenees mountain range. The farmhouse features five spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, two lounges, and a large kitchen with a log fire and heat pump. Artists are responsible for their own equipment, though access to the ceramics studio may be arranged upon special request and availability. The residency is self-funded and self-directed, with durations of up to one month. Applications are accepted year-round.

Baobab is grateful to announce the return of The Baobab Community Fund, a £3m fund dedicated to Black African/Caribbean and Global Majority collectives, organisations and individuals dismantling systems of oppression for communities in their work. Chadron State College's Art Program and Galaxy Series are accepting exhibition proposal submissions for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. Aviário Studio Large Format Printmaking Residency aims to promote the production and dissemination of Printmaking done in a large format. The annual Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year competition calls on photographers from around the world to celebrate the fauna, flora and natural formations of the Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and the New Guinea region. Submitted entries capture incredible moments in time, bearing witness to the unique beauty of the world around us.
The competition, owned and produced by the South Australian Museum, results in a stunning collection of images that provoke us to explore and understand the changing nature of the natural environment and appreciate the wonder.

Northglenn Arts is conducting an open entry competition to select six sculptures ─ valued at no more than $35,000 each ─ to be part of Northglenn’s “Art on Parade” on-loan outdoor sculpture program. Each of the six finalists will receive a $1,000 honorarium to help offset their expenses. In addition, $1,000 will be awarded to the artist who is the recipient of the annual “People’s Choice Award.” Artists will receive substantial recognition and opportunity to sell; therefore, all pieces must be for sale. The placement of selected pieces will begin in May, 2025 and will be on display until May, 2026.

The SCG ART program brings established artists to Placer County for the purpose of teaching and sharing their artistic talents and experience to the greater community. The program was lovingly established at the Placer Community Foundation (PCF) in memory of a local artist, Susan Cooley Gilliom, by her family. This residency offers a large studio space, funding for projects, and the opportunity to teach workshops in a formal setting.

Black Box Gallery is excited to announce a juried group photo show on shadow and light. Photography is the documentation of patterns of darkness and light. Shadows enhance the relationships of subjects in an image, they give definition and dimension, which complements the quality of the light values. Photographers have used dramatic shadows and patterns in black and white images and have also explored using ethereal and moody shadows and textures in color photography. They will be looking for a range of how shadow and light are interpreted by contemporary photographers.

Queen City Clay invites ceramic artists to submit works for the "Feathers, Fins, and Fur" exhibition, celebrating the diverse world of non-human animals. Submissions should feature animals as the primary form or integrated into decorative elements in sculptural and functional pieces. The exhibition will be juried by Sara Torgison. Selected works will be displayed at Queen City Clay from February 28 to April 10, 2025, with an opening reception on February 28, 2025, from 5–8 pm. Artists are responsible for shipping their work and must ensure pieces are for sale; the gallery takes a 40% commission on sales.

TRAILS invites artists to submit contemporary sculptures to a multi-location interior exhibition, totalling up to 50 finalists. They encourage all artists, established and emerging to participate. Visions Museum of Textile Art (VMOTA) is proud to announce the call for entries for Interpretations 2025, the museum’s 26th international juried exhibition, is open now through February 7, 2025. The McNeese State University Department of Visual Arts invites artists nationwide to submit entries for the 38th Annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition. This juried exhibition seeks original artworks completed within the last two years that incorporate paper as a primary element. The Marblehead Arts Association invites artists nationwide to participate in "Variations 2025," an eight-week juried exhibition showcasing diverse 2D and 3D artworks. Car-Free Earth Day transforms NYC streets into active and attractive public spaces with the addition of public art, performances, workshops, and demonstrations. Environmental programming is offered by City agencies and nonprofit organizations along the routes to promote activism and education surrounding climate change, sustainability, and other relevant topics. NYC DOT invites all professional artists to submit proposals for new or existing artwork to be installed at Car-Free Earth Day sites as designated by NYC DOT as a one-day installation. The display structure and attachments must be compliant with the requirements stipulated. The majority of available sites for art installations are concrete sidewalks or asphalt street spaces.

The Local Contemporary Art Prize 2025 is a highly anticipated annual exhibition at Caloundra Regional Gallery, showcasing the breadth of contemporary arts practice from emerging, mid-career and established visual artists residing on the Sunshine Coast. The TARTGET PRIZE International Painting Competition invites artists from all over the world to participate in its first edition. MacDowell provides time, space, and an inspiring residential environment to artists of exceptional talent. A MacDowell Fellowship, or residency, consists of exclusive use of a studio, accommodations, and three prepared meals a day for up to six weeks. There are no residency fees, and MacDowell offers financial assistance to reimburse the costs of direct travel to and from the residency, as well as expenses that artists expect to incur while in residence, including rent, lost income, and childcare. MacDowell Fellows are selected by an admissions panel, which is comprised of a revolving group of distinguished professionals in each artistic discipline who serve anonymously for up to three years.

The Allianz Foundation is inviting applications for its 2025 Grants Program to support civil society, ecological, cultural, and artistic initiatives. Special emphasis is given to projects intersecting these fields and pursuing systemic transformation. Eligible projects should contribute to Allianz Foundation’s mission of fostering just societies, resilient communities, and climate-neutral futures. They fund projects in the range of EUR 80,000 – 200,000 for a period of up to 24 months, starting from August 1, 2025 at the earliest.

The Graphic Arts Biennale, established in 1999, is a cyclical review/competition presenting the works of young-generation artists working in the area of graphic arts. IMPORT/EXPORT is the theme of the 14th Graphic Arts Biennale, which will take place in Poznań in the spring of 2025. It refers to the hierarchy of dependencies between core countries and the periphery that lead to cultural self-colonization and perpetuate this division of the world. Here, import and export allude to the exchange of culture-forming artistic phenomena. The competition is addressed to artists from all over the world, aged 18 to 40 years. In stage one, preview files of original graphic works together with a short description of the idea and technique used shall be sent by 10 February 2025 using the online Application Form.

Mother’s Milk is an interdisciplinary residency (2, 4, 6 weeks) designed to support visual artists, sound artists/composers, dancer/choreographers, writers or other creatives who are pursuing innovative work in their field. The goal of this program is to provide individuals or collaborative teams with the time and space to pursue their creative projects alongside other residents whose different perspectives, backgrounds and interests offer inspiration and interaction. Work that is more experimental in nature without regard to commercial viability is of special interest, a focus on process over product. Residents have studios in a 1,500 sq. ft. hay barn studio and share housing in a fully renovated 1898 farmhouse.

The Pearl Beach Arboretum Ephemeral Art Trail (PBEAT) aims to create inspiring temporary public art that promotes nature conservation, supports community identity and increases the cultural vibrancy. The City of Wilsonville, Oregon is requesting qualifications from talented artist(s) and/or artist team(s) to create a new and engaging public artwork(s) for Boones Ferry Park, a ~15-acre park adjacent to the Willamette River. This park is intended to serve the larger community as well as the local neighborhood. The theme for this Public Art Project is “The Essence of the River.” The Willamette River flows from west to east through town and was historically the site of a ferry and sternwheeler landing. It is desired that the artwork(s) celebrates and pulls inspiration from the river and surrounding natural areas in the park. La Porte Peinte is an international arts centre located in Noyers sur Serein, a medieval village in Burgundy that is recognized as one of the 100 most beautiful villages in France. Based in a rambling medieval half-timbered building that leans out over the village square like something from a fairy tale, La Porte Peinte offers artists, makers, musicians and writers in residence the opportunity to engage in creative exploration and exchange in an unusually inspiring and supportive environment. Workshop spaces and event spaces are available for classes and performances. Along with residency accommodation, each creator in residence chooses the private studio space most suited to their practice.

Alderworks welcomes writers and artists every summer to work in cabins on the edge of the wilderness in historic and stunningly beautiful Dyea near Skagway, Alaska. The purpose of Alderworks is to enhance the creative process. They host residents in three cabins for 4-6 week summer residencies. Artists also have access to a studio building. Applicants are screened in the winter for the following summer's two residency periods. Residency fee applies.

This is an immersive drawing retreat for artists keen to experiment with mark and image, create with natural materials, and connect to the experience of drawing within the stunning landscape of Northern New Mexico. The residential retreat takes up drawing in an expanded, embodied sense – some may be compelled by the shape and color of the cliffs, while others draw the sound of wind, flow of the river, or simply feel what it’s like to collect and grind clay into powder pigment to draw the red line of the mesa.

Long Meadow Art Residency is a six week – three-month solo residency in the Berkshires. LMAR offers studio space and housing, allowing time for artists to retreat and deepen their practice. The Keyholder Residency Program offers emerging artists free 24-hour access to printmaking facilities to develop new work and foster their artistic careers. Keyholders work independently, in a productive atmosphere alongside other contemporary artists. Artists from all disciplines are eligible to apply; printmaking skills are not required, but some familiarity with the medium is recommended. Basic instruction in printmaking techniques is available for new Keyholders. Applications are evaluated by an invited panel of artists, critics, curators, and art professionals. A total of 8 artists are awarded the residency annually. Artists based in the New York City area and without access to a studio space are encouraged to apply.

RONDO is an international artists residency organization established in 2024 in Mexico City. RONDO is thrilled to offer artists two distinct opportunities to join them in their residency program. The open calls align with our two separate semesters: apply in the summer to attend the spring semester, and apply in the winter to attend the following fall semester. They are seeking to engage an experienced First Nations digital artist to work with First Nations young people to deliver a temporary public art project at the Tounnin Wominjeka Youth Hub, the newly built Youth Hub in Rosebud. The project aligns with the Public Art Policy which aims to commit to building a culturally aware and engaged community through the arts and to provide an environment in which artistic and cultural expression in the public domain is encouraged and valued. The artist will collaborate closely with young people to co-design a meaningful and engaging artwork. This participatory process will empower young individuals, fostering a deeper connection with their community and culture. The resulting artwork will reflect their voices and shared stories, celebrating the richness of First Nations culture.

The Eskenazi School of Art Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington invites applications for a 4–6-week McKinney International Art and Design Residency. An established artist or designer will be selected whose primary country of residence is outside the United States. Wayne Art Center’s 2025 Regional Juried Spring Open is an exhibition featuring works in painting, drawing, printmaking, works on paper, photography, mixed media, ceramics, sculpture, glass, jewelry, metals, fiber and 3D printing technology.  Artists from PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD, VA and Washington, DC are eligible to submit UP TO TWO original works created between 2023 and 2025. Artists submitting 3-dimensional works may upload an additional view of each of up to two pieces.  Artists should NOT submit more than two works for consideration per application.

The Mare Island Artyard sculpture exhibition are currently planning our 5th year of art installations that will be on public display from mid-May 2025 through mid-May 2026 on Mare Island in Vallejo, CA. Mare Island is a peninsula that was home to the oldest Naval Base on the West Coast. It still has an active ship port, residential communities, nature preserve, a brewery, distillery, and is a destination for special events including concerts and races. The Mare Island Artyard are seeking art that is contemporary, imaginative, and suitable for a very broad general public. Local Edition will be selecting six (6) self-standing installations to receive a stipend from between $5,000 - $8,000 depending on the size and quality of the art.

What is 'the catalogue'?

The AFA Catalogue is not a magazine but rather a collection of scholarly essays published in a hardcover artbook format as well as presented digitally in a manner similar to an exhibition catalogue. Only the best in show artists from AFA online exhibitions are included in all formats of the catalogue, digitally and in print. The catalogue includes artists who have works in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Artists included in the catalogue have also been critically published by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Forbes, National Geographic, Financial Times, and The Guardian. There are also quite a few artists in the catalogue who are represented by some of the most respected galleries in the world.

Presenting Art Collide’s "Open Theme”, Winter 2025, international competition and online exhibition. Artists of all ages from around the world are invited to participate, with complete freedom in choosing their preferred media and style. The competition's theme is "Open," allowing participants to express their creativity by submitting artworks on any subject matter of their choice. Only artists whose works are selected as finalists will be required to pay a $35 participation fee. Finalists will have their artwork showcased online and advance to the final round of judging, where they will be considered for cash prizes, including the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000.

The newly constructed Manatee Pocket Mooring Field facility, located within the Port Salerno Community Redevelopment Area (CRA) boundary, embodies architectural elements inspired by Florida Vernacular design in its single-story structure. On SE Park Drive, the facility’s back wall offers a canvas for an approximately 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide mosaic mural and acts as the "front door" of the building in the context of the street and neighborhood. This artwork aims to celebrate the rich local culture, history, and natural beauty of Port Salerno and Martin County, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding architectural aesthetics. The project includes the development of complementary wayfinding signage. This sign will serve to highlight and direct visitors to key amenities.

The Wayne Art Center Plein Air Festival and Exhibition are dedicated to enhancing the public’s appreciation of works completed in the plein air method while providing a venue for established and emerging artists to share their work with collectors and the public.

Wayne Art Center’s 17th Annual Plein Air Festival will take place May 4 through May 10, 2025 when 32 juried artists from across the country arrive to paint scenes within a 35-mile radius of Wayne, Pennsylvania including historic Main Line towns, rolling farm country, downtown Philadelphia and the Delaware and Schuylkill riverfronts. The work resulting from the 7-day competition will be exhibited at the Wayne Art Center Preview Party & Sale on May 10 and remains on view through June 21, 2025.

Since it was established in 1987 WOW has embraced the worlds of art and design, running an international competition that culminates in a spectacular theatrical performance each year. The exhilarating WOW Show is a visual feast for audiences and an opportunity for designers to be recognised and celebrated on the world stage. WOW offers an opportunity to express innovation, originality and to push the boundaries of creativity. The show represents the last stage of the competition as finalists garments get their moment to shine in front of over 60,000 people.

Space 776 invites artists worldwide to apply for a three-person exhibition in Spring 2025 at their Manhattan gallery. Discovery Green Conservancy is seeking proposals for a temporary outdoor art installation that will captivate and resonate with the park’s diverse audiences. Weingarten Art Group, on behalf of Discovery Green Conservancy, invites artists to propose projects that inspire exploration, magic, and joy in this vibrant urban park – one of Houston’s most beloved public spaces hosting up to two million visitors annually. As outlined in the Request for Proposals, the selected project will be installed on the Sarofim Picnic Lawn for 4-6 weeks in the Fall of 2025. The total project budget is $80,000, inclusive of all costs.

Founded in 1902, Byrdcliffe is one of the earliest utopian art communities in America. Located approximately 2 hours north of New York City in the unique community of Woodstock, NY, Byrdcliffe artists live and work surrounded by the serene beauty of the Catskill Mountains on a 250-acre property. Artist residency options include month-long communal sessions and 5-month long independent cottage residencies during the summer months, as well as independent residencies in our year-round cottages which range from 3-months to a year. As part of the AiR program, artists are invited to participate in a variety of programs which includes gatherings, talks, practice shares, studio visits, excursions, open studio events, and the annual AiR exhibition the spring after their residency.

Satellite Art Show presents SATELLITE RANCH SXSW, transforming a 10-acre Texas ranch into an art fair from March 7th-15th. Located in East Austin, the ranch features historic structures, outdoor installations, and unique features like a giant wooden snake sculpture. Over 100 local and international artists and galleries will participate, offering a blend of exhibitions, performances, music, and tech projects. SATELLITE RANCH aims to make art accessible to everyone, providing a "choose-your-own-adventure" experience celebrating Texas culture and contemporary art. SATELLITE Art Show is a unique alternative to traditional fairs, providing a great platform for both new and established artists & galleries.

Art Encounters is a year-long outdoor sculpture exhibit that showcases a number of sculptures, in various media and styles, displayed in highly visible areas in Castle Rock, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Parker, and Roxborough. The project is designed to promote public interest in art, develop community pride and draw visitors to the retail or civic areas where they are displayed. All art is for sale to the general public.

First established in 2015 as the Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize, the prize was relaunched in 2024 as the Bayside Painting Prize with an increase in prize money for the Major Prize to $25,000, making it one of the most generous non-acquisitive painting prizes in the country.
The $10,000 acquisitive Beckett Local Prize is open to artists who demonstrate a connection to the municipality of Bayside or the work entered is of local subject matter. There is also a 1,000 People’s Choice Prize.
The Bayside Painting Prize is the only annual painting prize held in Melbourne. The finalist exhibition brings together a broad range of artists from across Australia, both established and lesser known, whose varied approaches to the painted medium conveys the breadth and diversity of painting in Australia today.

The Asian Women Giving Circle (AWGC) believes culture is an essential part of any strategy for social change. They support projects led by Asian American women or gender-expansive people in NYC that harness the power of arts and culture to:
- Bring about progressive social transformation
- Raise awareness and catalyze action around critical issues that affect Asian American women, girls, gender-expansive people and families
- Highlight and promote their central role as leaders, creators, developers and managers of these projects.

In this grants cycle, they anticipate that 6-8 project grants will be awarded, contingent on available funding. The maximum grant amount is $8,000.

The artists will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the authentic culture of Meghalaya. They will be given dedicated time for individual contemplation and the creation of their artworks in a studio space conveniently located near their accommodation. Interaction between the invited artists and local artists from Meghalaya is encouraged and anticipated. Additionally, the artists will have the chance to share their knowledge through organized workshops conducted for local schools.

At the conclusion of the residency program, a final exhibition will be organized, during which each artist will present the artworks created during the residency and share their experiences with the invited guests.

Located in the heart of Savannah’s Starland District at Sulfur Studios, ARTS Southeast’s homebase, the ON::VIEW Artist Residency provides a free, high visibility studio space for an artist to complete a new project, to continue an in-progress endeavor, or to conduct research exploring conceptual, material, performative, and social practices. The studio’s large windows look out onto Bull Street, the district’s main thoroughfare, allowing the artists’ work to be on view to the community at all times. Visitors and passersby on the sidewalk witness the artists’ process as it unfolds in real time, seeing all the steps involved from concept to final execution. Community events like workshops, performances, public art projects and artist talks offer creative ways to interact with the public. The ON::View Residency supports artists from across the globe, working in all media.

Located on the sixth floor of the Museum and open to the public, the Artist Studios at MAD is a community engagement and professional development program for contemporary artists and designers. The first program of its kind, the Artist Studios opportunity is designed to encourage visitors to meet artists-in-residence as they expand their creative practice while working on-site at MAD. Three artists (two Artist Studios residents and one Artist Fellow) are selected per six-month session, for which they receive access to studio space in the Museum and a stipend. Visitors are welcome to visit MAD’s Artist Studios to view works in progress and converse with the artists and designers.

The Cerritos College Purchasing Department has released RFQ No. C25000000103 Performing Arts Center Façade Public Art Project.  The request for qualifications (RFQ) solicitation is an opportunity to create a pool of qualified artist to provide the design, creation, and installation of a prominent public art project on the exterior façade of the new Performing Arts Center.

Established by Gallery Directors Isobel Beauchamp and Elinor Olisa, the Signature Art Prize was founded to identify and celebrate the unique ‘Signature Style’ of early-career artists. With their extensive experience in the contemporary art market, Beauchamp and Olisa are dedicated to nurturing artistic individuality and supporting new talent.

Selected finalists will be invited to participate in the Signature Art Prize Gala Exhibition in June 2025, where they will have the opportunity to present their work in a prestigious gallery setting. In addition to gallery representation, winners will receive prizes generously provided by their sponsors and the opportunity to take part in a month-long artist residency in a central London studio.

The Smithsonian’s Archives of American Art Internships are offered in the spring, summer, and fall terms to students who have not yet completed their degrees, or who have graduated within the past six months. Early Career Banff Artist in Residence (BAiR) Summer 2025 is an immersive program of studio practice, creative exploration, critical feedback, and mentorship for visual artists and curators in the early stages of their careers.
Open to visual artists and curators working in all visual arts mediums, this program combines the artistic freedom of a self-directed residency with the benefits of technical and faculty support. As well as having the space to create, research, and experiment, participants are part of a community of emerging artists committed to developing and expanding their practice.

Their March online group art show, “Where Worlds Meet” invites artists to delve into the intriguing concept of interconnectivity within their creative works. This group show aims to provide a platform for artists to express and explore the beauty and complexity that emerges when different worlds, identities, or elements meet, intertwine, and coexist within the realm of artistic expression. Artists are encouraged to interpret this theme in a way that resonates with their unique perspectives and artistic styles. Through the art displayed in “Where Worlds Meet,” artists are empowered to build bridges across perceived divides, inspiring audiences to embrace the multifaceted nature of connectivity and coexistence within the artistic landscape.

The Stiftung Niedersachsen grant at the Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art supports a wide spectrum of media art, from video art and net-based projects to audio works and audiovisual installations. Each of the three grants will be awarded for the production of a new project in the area of media art. And international jury will be convene to select the grant recipients. The grant is valid for a duration of six months (July–December 2025). It cannot be prolonged and residency is compulsory; grant recipients can expect to stay in Oldenburg at least one month (can be spread across several stays). The project or artistic work should be completed within the six-month duration of the grant.

Arts/Industry is undoubtedly one of the most remarkable collaborations between art and industry in the United States. The residency program is administered by the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nonprofit arts organization in Sheboygan, WI, and hosted and funded by Kohler Co., a private for-profit plumbing ware company in nearby Kohler, WI. Founded by visionary arts leader Ruth DeYoung Kohler, Arts/Industry provides artists a place to make their artwork in tandem with the skilled craftspeople who work for Kohler Co. The program is rooted in the collaborative efforts between contemporary artists and industrial artisans, resulting in brilliant works of art.

Arts/Industry Residency provides the unique opportunity to explore new ideas, processes, and perspectives while creating work using the resources, technology, and materials of the Kohler Co. factory in Kohler, Wisconsin. Arts/Industry artists are given the time and space to pursue their creative process in studios located in Kohler Co.’s industrial foundry and pottery. Artists-in-residence receive 24-hour access to studio space, industrial materials, use of equipment, technical assistance, photographic services, housing, round-trip transportation, and a modest weekly stipend. Experience working in metal or clay is not required. Arts/Industry welcomes artists from all disciplines who are curious about how industrial processes and environments can shape their work.

The Freeport Art Museum has an open call for Native American artists within a 150-mile radius of Freeport, Illinois, which is located in the far northwestern corner of the state. This radius includes the major metro locations of Chicago, Madison, and Milwaukee. This call seeks to award two solo exhibitions as part of the BIPOC initiative, which will open October 25th, 2025 and runs through December 27th, 2025. This will be the fifth and final year of this initiative, which, works to fundamentally transform the diversity showcased in FAM’s exhibitions and foster a welcoming environment for the public, especially BIPOC audiences.

Da Vinci Art Alliance and CultureWorks both work to provide resources and gathering spaces for their communities. They aim to make a sustainable and lasting impact on the communities we serve. DVAA and CultureWorks are partnering on a series of art exhibitions for 2025. Da Vinci Art Alliance invites artists from across Philadelphia to submit their artwork for a five-month exhibition to be located at CultureWorks in Center City. The Powderhorn Art Fair embodies the iconic artsy and eclectic Powderhorn community. Over the past 34 years, the Powderhorn Art Fair has grown to represent over a hundred juried artists spanning 20 mediums. Proceeds from the fair fund community programming that fuels advocacy work and other impacts through Powderhorn Park Neighborhood Association (PPNA).

The MAEP Open Call for the March–June 2026 exhibition launches February 1–28, 2025. The deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Decisions will be announced by April 30, 2025. Founded in 1975 as a partnership between the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) and regional artists, the Minnesota Artists Exhibition Program (MAEP) has become a unique, ongoing relationship lasting fifty years. One application will be selected to receive $13,500 and the opportunity to realize the proposed exhibition in the 2,500-square-foot U.S. Bank Gallery at Mia. The program is only open to Minnesota residents. All applications must be submitted through the Submittable portal.

The inaugural Tartget Prize is one of the most significant international painting competitions. Open to all styles and techniques, the contest offers over $55,000 in prizes across 10 categories, from figurative to abstract.

The Department of Art & Art History invites artists with compelling contemporary practices in any medium to apply for the Borgeson Artist in Residence Program, a twelve-week summer artist residency at Hope College’s De Pree Art Center in Holland, Michigan. The residency runs from from mid-May through mid-August and provides housing, a financial stipend, a personal studio space, and full facility access within the Department of Art & Art History. It concludes with a one-month exhibition at Hope College’s 2,136 sq. ft. De Pree Art Gallery. The exhibition opens in late August and runs through September. The residency stipend is paid in two installments, at the beginning of the residency and in September at the close of the exhibition.

The primary purpose of the Newport Artists Collective is to provide a platform and community for artists in Newport to connect, collaborate, and showcase their work. This effort involves organizing exhibitions, workshops, events, and other initiatives to support and promote local artists and their creative endeavors.

This call for art is open to both professional and amateur artists working in a variety of mediums. The Access/VSA Emerging Young Artists Program, a Jean Kennedy Smith Arts and Disability Program, showcases the work of visual artists with disabilities, ages 16-25, who reside in the United States. This program is funded by the Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) Grant #H421F240164, however, the content does not necessarily represent the policy of the U.S. Department of Education. Fifteen winning artists are selected by a jury. Each winning artist receives a $3,000 award and has one of their submitted pieces selected for an exhibition at the Kennedy Center. Winning artists are required to attend virtual workshops (May 3, May 17, June 14) and an all-expenses-paid series of professional development workshops at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. June 17-21, 2025. Artist must reside in the United States. (Includes 50 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Northern Marianas Islands, Guam, American Samoa, and U.S. Virgin Islands.) Artist must have a disability as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Artist must be comfortable publicly identifying as an artist with a disability. Artist must be between the ages of 16 and 25.

119 North Weatherly is a contemporary online art gallery based in the heart of Minneapolis. 119 North Weatherly was created in order to level the playing field for visual artists by charging only nominal fees for submission and making sure that 100% of each sale goes directly to the artist. All woman-identifying 2-D and video artists are invited to submit up to three works for the “Not Aspiring to Be Humble” juried exhibition. Opening during International Women’s Month, the show will run March 10-April 30, 2025. Submissions are $11 per image, and all artists selected will keep 100% of the sales price of their work if the piece sells.

The Village of Beverly Hills is seeking applications for original sculptures of a size, weight and material suited to an outdoor setting. Selected works will demonstrate the connections between art and the natural environment. The sculptures, to be selected by local artists and approved by the Parks and Recreation Board, will be on loan from the artist to the Village for three years, May 2025 through April 2028. A $1200 stipend will be paid to the artist upon successful installation of the sculpture.

Photo Trouvée Magazine is pleased to announce an international open call for print issue 16. They are looking for artists who work with or are inspired by vintage, found or family photographs in any media and at any stage in their career.
