The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is pleased to announce the establishment of the VMFA Aaron Siskind Award for excellence in contemporary photography.

This award celebrates Aaron Siskind’s artistic legacy, supports the practice of photography as a vital means of creative expression, and honors the role that the Aaron Siskind Foundation played in supporting photographers through the Individual Photographer’s Fellowship.

This award is intended to support early- to mid-career artists as well as established photographers who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to their practice but may not yet have received significant critical recognition.

Two artists will each receive an unrestricted prize of $25,000.

This material support is meant to enable photographers to complete a meaningful body of work—whether the continuation or finalization of a photographic series; the development of an exhibition, monograph, or book project; or another major creative endeavor.

The Lucie Foundation supports both professional and emerging photographers whose work demonstrates vision, originality, and a commitment to advancing the art of still photography. Eligible genres include Fine Art, Documentary, Photojournalism, and both digital and film-based practices.

The 2025 program offers four cash grants along with additional prizes to assist and elevate the work of selected artists.

Recipients will be featured in a group exhibition at Picto NY in New York City during the fall. The exhibition will subsequently travel to House of Lucie Galleries in Athens, Budapest, Ostuni, and Samui.

Denver Public Art seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create original public artwork(s) for along the High Line Canal Trail, in the University Hills neighborhood of Denver. The goal of the project is to commission artwork that activates the trail, celebrates the neighborhood’s history and future, and engages users with a sense of motion and connectivity.

As part of the Seine River development and the city's cultural policy, the city of Melun encourages the installation of large-scale sculptures on themes related to Melun's heritage. This year, they are asking an artist or collective of artists to propose a 3-meter-tall heron made of recycled wood. The artist(s), in partnership with the SMITOM, will be required to offer five educational workshops to a school audience during their time there.

Fusion Art announces the Landscapes 2025 Art Competition.

For this competition, both 2D & 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best representational and/or abstract art and photography depicting landforms such as mountains, hills, valleys, deserts, farmland, trees, rivers, lakes, ponds, forests, wilderness, polar regions, rainforests, islands and tropical landscapes.

The City of Orlando invites digital artists to submit animated or computer-generated motion-based artwork for display at Art2 Pocket Park — a vibrant new urban space at the corner of Robinson and Orange. They are seeking 3–6 artists whose work explores digital movement, animation, or computer-generated imagery. Selected works will be showcased on a large outdoor screen as part of a 3-month exhibition.

Bindi Enterprises is a social enterprise based in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), known for supporting creative excellence without limits. As the first disability service in the Central Desert, Bindi has been providing supported employment, training, and community services since 1978. Our mission is to empower people with disabilities through meaningful creative and professional opportunities. Submissions are now open for this year’s Bindi Digital Art Prize, a national, all-abilities award that celebrates excellence in digital media. The winner will receive a $3,000 prize, and the People’s Choice Award recipient will receive $500, alongside the opportunity to exhibit their work with other outstanding artists.

Teapots and vessels that pour is the theme of this exhibition, coinciding with a teapot workshop by Richard Notkin! Work is due to the gallery by Tuesday, September 9th. The Ian Parry Photojournalism Grant is an international photographic competition for young photographers who are 24 years of age or under, or anyone who is studying in a full-time photographic course. Entrants must submit a portfolio of 12 images and a clear proposal of a project they would undertake if they received the grant.

From June 1 to September 1, 2025, the call for entries is open for the third edition (2025) of the KBr Photo Award, the international competition organized every two years by the Foundation. This award seeks to recognize and highlight photographers with an established professional career whose work demonstrates artistic values of particular interest within the tradition of documentary photography.

The prize, which is awarded to unpublished projects, seeks to acknowledge and promote the work of the winner through a cash prize, an exhibition showcasing the project in the Foundation’s two galleries (KBr and Madrid), and the publication of an accompanying catalog.

This group exhibition in the YC Prescott Art Gallery seeks to honor the power of folk traditions, inviting artists from all backgrounds to celebrate and reimagine them. Artists who interpret or reinterpret the traditional forms, techniques, motifs, and stories of their own heritage through a contemporary lens, whether in subtle homage or radical reinvention are welcome to apply. Artists working in any medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, ceramics, digital art, and beyond are encouraged to showcase their work in a vibrant and inclusive gallery setting. The exhibition will be juried by Dr. Suzanne Waldenberger, Folklore and Humanities Professor at Yavapai College Prescott.

This Queer Animation night aims to celebrate and empower queer voices and artists through animation, showcasing films that create awareness, highlight joy & community and inspire advocacy. They will have a panel discussion after the screening about your films. You are totally welcome to opt out, just make sure you indicate that when submitting in the form. All films submitted should be 15 minutes max and no minimum. They will be played similar to a film festival shorts block.

The Australian Ceramics Association (TACA), in partnership with Manly Art Gallery & Museum (MAG&M), invites expressions of interest from Australian-based curators to guest curate the TACA members’ exhibition at MAG&M in Sydney in April 2027. This is a national call-out, curators around the country are encouraged to apply. The successful curator will work (independently on a contract basis) to develop the exhibition in consultation with a TACA Board representative, TACA’s Chief Executive Officer, and MAG&M Senior Curator and Gallery Director. The Guest Curator will advise and liaise on all aspects of the project, including exhibition title, exhibition rationale, exhibition design, artist call-out, selection of artists (with MAG&M & TACA), and publicity. The Guest Curator will write a catalogue essay and give a public talk to support the exhibition. The project period for the Guest Curator will extend through 20 months, from October 2025 to May 2027.

The 3rd Trades Hall Arts Prize is now open for entries – opening night 1st October. The City of Kansas City, Missouri One Percent for Art program seeks qualifications for a professional visual artist or artist team to design, fabricate, and install permanent wall-based public art for a new city parking garage in the 18th & Vine district. Two to 5 semifinalist artists will be asked to advance to the RFP phase and propose designs. Semifinalists will be paid a design proposal stipend of $2,775.

Expressions of interest are now open for practicing contemporary artists to apply to undertake a supported site responsive studio-based residency at Sauerbier House in the beautiful coastal township of Port Noarlunga. Sauerbier House is located on Kaurna Yerta (Kaurna Country), south of Adelaide, South Australia. The Sauerbier House residency is an established program aimed to foster and support the professional development of contemporary arts practice while responding to the City of Onkaparinga.

Contemporary artists working accross disciplines, artist groups or curators can apply to exhibit or curate an exhibition at Sauerbier House in one or more of three very distinct gallery spaces. Whilst exhibiting, artists/ curators are requested to facilitate the opportunity for visitors to deepen their understanding of the work, the processes, concept, or practice of represented artists. These supported exhibitions run for up to six weeks. A support fee of $400 is available to be paid per exhibition. Extra support will be given to host a skill sharing workshop.

The City of Henderson is calling on all artists to design and create a large-scale mural on the wall of the Oceanside Apartments on Water Street. This project is an artist residency wherein the selected artist/artist team will be housed at the mural site in a furnished, two-bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment while the piece is created. The City of Henderson and the apartment’s owner/manager are seeking submissions that consider the past, present, and future of downtown Henderson to create a unique and iconic piece that welcomes everyone to the Water Street District.

The Cultural Arts Committee invites artists to create a signature sculptural installation for the roundabout at the north end of San Pablo Avenue. The selected artwork will serve as a visual landmark and reinforce the corridor’s evolving identity as a vibrant, design-forward public space. Artists are encouraged to consider scale, visibility, and durability in their concepts, and may propose either a single large-scale piece or a series of coordinated elements. Works that incorporate lighting to enhance nighttime presence are strongly encouraged. Water and kinetic features will not be considered.

The Art Association of Jackson Hole seeks artists for a juried art fair, September 7, 2025 at Center for the Arts Park in Jackson, WY. The City of Wichita invites professional artists and artist teams with a demonstrated history of completing complex, permanent, outdoor public art projects to submit their qualifications for a $40,000 public art commission for A. Price Woodard Jr. Memorial Park. The start of this project is scheduled to begin in late fall/early winter of 2025. It is anticipated that the installation of the art will be completed in 2026. Emerging artists are encouraged to apply.

The City of Bloomington’s Office of Creative Placemaking and Parks and Recreation Department invite Minnesota-based public artists to submit qualifications for the design, fabrication, and installation of an interactive artistic sculpture which will be located at Bryant Park, serving as a striking focal point within the landscape.

This RFQ is open to experienced public artists and artist teams who have completed at least one commissioned outdoor public art sculpture with a budget of $20,000 or more in the past ten years. Applicants must be 18 years or older and residents of Minnesota, with priority consideration given to teams who include a Bloomington resident.

The Dayton Society of Artists (DSA) is pleased to present LITHO-LINO-MONO-MORE 2025. All printmakers, 18 years or older, living, working, or attending school in the state of Ohio are eligible for entry. All art submitted must have printmaking incorporated in their production process: woodcut, etching, engraving, lithography, screen printing, etc. Photography, giclee prints, and digital work are not eligible unless they have additional printmaking elements. Artlink is now accepting submissions for their juried exhibition, The Body Re-Formed: Contemporary Approaches to Figure Drawing! Any artist 18+ years of age residing in the United States is eligible. Denver Public Art seeks to commission an artist or artist team to create public artworks for Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. The goal of the project is to incorporate permanent artwork into the park and amphitheatre, integrating natural and man-made areas at Red Rocks. The public art will serve to enhance the experience of those who visit Red Rocks but not detract from the natural landscape.

The Young Creatives Lab program seeks proposals for new projects led by creatives aged 18 to 25 years. Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to apply, as well as inter-disciplinary creatives such as curators, producers, performers, designers, filmmakers, gamers, composers, new media artists and writers. Proposals may include an exhibition, installation, performance, conversation series, development of a publication, new composition or screen work.

The Hodder Fellowship will be given to artists of exceptional promise to pursue independent projects with Princeton University during the 2026-2027 academic year. Potential Hodder Fellows are composers, choreographers, performance artists, visual artists, translators, writers, or other kinds of artists or humanists who are selected more "for promise than for performance" and have "much more than ordinary intellectual and literary gifts" as traditionally defined. Hodder Fellows spend an academic year with Princeton, but no formal teaching is involved. A $93,000 stipend is provided for this 10-month appointment as a Visiting Fellow. The Lewis Center is committed to fostering an academic environment that acknowledges and encourages community. The successful candidate will pursue academic excellence in University settings.

The Princeton Arts Fellowship offers early-career artists a two-year appointment at Princeton University, where they are expected to teach or engage with students through creative practice. The City of Wilsonville, Oregon is requesting applications from a talented Artist or Artist Team, with expertise in mural design and implementation/installation for interior murals (four walls) in the Children’s Section at the Wilsonville Public Library. Preference may be given to Artists’ who are experienced in artwork geared towards children. Artist(s) should also be well versed and comfortable with engaging with the community. The budget for this project is not to exceed $20,000, which is inclusive of everything including but not limited to: time, labor, materials, equipment, travel expenses, insurance requirements, etc. In order to minimize closures of the Children’s Section, artists should be able to complete installation within a two-week period from start of install to completion and clean-up.

The Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation Department seeks to commission a local professional muralist to design and complete one 13’ x 22’ Mural at Pleasant Lea Park located at 1100 SW Walnut St, Lee's Summit, MO 64081. This work will be situated on the right side of the two handball courts. City of Casey Council is seeking to commission an artist/s to create an artwork for the Ballarto Road Family and Community Centre (interim name) under development on Riverland Road, Clyde. For 85 years, the American Color Print Society has been dedicated to the advancement of printmaking as a fine art medium. This mission encourages them to create exhibition opportunities for productive and emerging print artists. Every two years they open their Annual Fall Exhibition to non-members, who may submit fine art prints to be juried for entry into the show.

The College of Southern Nevada, Department of Fine Arts, Art & Art History Program is currently accepting exhibition proposals for its 2026 – 2027 Exhibition Season for the College’s Fine Arts Gallery, Artspace Gallery, Student Union Art Galleries, and Debra March Center of Excellence Art Gallery. Solo and group exhibitions of all media and genres will be considered. Exhibitions will be chosen by a gallery committee of fine art faculty members from submitted proposals only. Exhibitions are awarded based on criteria including relevance to CSN Art Galleries’ Mission, importance to CSN’s Art & Art History Program curriculum, and overall artistic quality. Submissions are encouraged that speak to CSN’s unique student population. The gallery committee will select a gallery for each exhibition based on content, media, audience, and proposal.

The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (VCCA) provides time and space for national and international writers, visual artists, and composers of talent and promise to bring forth their finest works, because the arts are vital, diversity is a strength, and creativity is essential. Selected artists come to VCCA’s Mt. San Angelo in Amherst, Virginia or the Moulin à Nef in Auvillar, France for intense periods of creative work, free from the distractions of day-to-day life. During residencies lasting anywhere from a week to two months, VCCA Fellows enjoy private studios, private bedrooms, and meals. Whether sequestered in the rolling foothills of Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains or on the banks of the Garonne River in Southwest France, VCCA Fellows can work in concentrated solitude, then re-energize in the company of other artists.

The Dreamers competition: a springboard for young talent
The Dreamers competition was created to meet a key need: to offer teenagers aged 12 to 16 a platform for developing and showcasing their photographic talent. The competition is aimed specifically at this age group, as it is a crucial age for personal and artistic development. The Dreamers is designed to offer teenagers a unique opportunity for recognition and learning.

Theme and entry
This year’s theme is ‘Growth’, inviting entrants to explore change and evolution in different forms.

Entry requirements
– The competition is free and open to young people aged 12 to 16.
– Each entrant must submit 4 images, produced without any external assistance (except technical and educational assistance).

Vital Impacts supports visual storytellers who document compelling, solutions-oriented environmental narratives at the local level. The organization is offering one $20,000 grant and six $5,000 grants to help bring these important stories to life.

Selected grantees will have twelve months to develop their projects, receiving guidance and support from Vital Impacts to help publish and showcase their work.

The Hambidge Center is situated on 600 forested acres in the mountains of north Georgia and offers miles of nature trails, meadows, waterfalls, a swimming hole and an abundance of wildflowers. The oldest residency program in the Southeast, Hambidge provides a self-directed program that honors the creative process and trusts individuals to know what they need to cultivate their talent, whether it’s to work and produce, to think, to experiment or to rejuvenate. Residents’ time is their own; there are no workshops, critiques, nor required activities. Each resident is given their own private studio which provides work and living space with a bathroom and full kitchen. The studios are designed to protect residents’ time, space and solitude.

The residency duration is flexible, ranging from one to five months, and will be scheduled within the spring 2026 semester (January–May 2026) based on the selected artist’s availability.

As part of a traffic calming initiative, the City of Palmdale has replaced the four-way stops at 10th Street East with roundabouts. The primary goal of traffic calming is to enhance the livability and vitality of residential and commercial areas by improving safety, mobility, and comfort for non-motorists. To further enrich the environment and transform the urban landscape, two sculptures by the same artist will be installed in the newly constructed roundabouts. Applications are open to artists residing in the State of California.

The Queens Museum (QM) is pleased to launch its seventh QM-Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists in New York City. Two visual artists will receive $20,000 each, professional development consultations, and close mentorship from QM staff members working toward an artist’s project. The fellowships will culminate in solo project exhibitions at the Queens Museum in 2027. The duration of each fellowship is one year, culminating with the opening of the fellow’s exhibition.

The City of San Ramon invites artists of all ages and stages of their artistic journey that meet the minimum required body of work (10), to apply to exhibit. This Call will furnish the City’s galleries with month long exhibits during the 2026 calendar year, with the exception of the San Ramon Library, which hosts exhibits on a bimonthly schedule.

Kherson Park (307 West Gowe Street) includes a Lunar Rover replica, a life-sized astronaut, Lunar Lander and Mission Control play elements, and a large wall with projection capabilities. The Arts Commission provides artistic content for the projection component by showcasing artwork from digital/video media artists. One large screen (approximately 30’ x 20’) located on the side of a building facing south toward Gowe Street is visible to the public from Kent-Kherson Park, as well as the sidewalks and streets at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Gowe Street. Works are displayed in rotation during presentation hours, generally dusk to 11 p.m. daily. Each selected artist will receive a $500 honorarium to help defray related expenses.

The City of Port St. Lucie is seeking up to two artists or artist team to conceptualize, fabricate, and install two newly-commissioned sculptures, one each for two newly-constructed roundabouts at Southwest Paar Drive and Southwest Darwin ("Paar/Darwin Site") Boulevard and the roundabout at Southwest Paar Drive and Southwest Savona Boulevard ("Paar/Savona Site"). Construction is projected for completion in late 2026. In alignment with Port St. Lucie's public art plan, sculpture for both roundabouts should reflect the character of Port St. Lucie and enhance the City's visual landscape. Specific goals for sculpture at the new roundabouts include:

-Express Port St. Lucieʼs identity
-Offer a visually stimulating, transformative, and inspiring experience
-Enhance traffic and pedestrian safety
-Enliven the built environment

The longest running portrait prize in South Australia, the Prospect Portrait Prize is a non-acquisitive juried exhibition of contemporary portraits in any medium. Prize winners will be chosen from those works selected for exhibition in the 13th Prospect Portrait Prize 2025, with a prize pool over $6,000. Portrait artworks can be in any visual medium such as sculpture, digital media, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, textiles, ceramic, glass, performance, video/film or multi-media (sound and written word can be included). Castlemaine Art Museum is pleased to announce the fourth Experimental Print Prize (EPP). Established in 2019, the biennial prize is open to artists residing in Victoria. Initiated and funded originally by Michael Rigg, the prize now evolves to a platform supported by many. For the past fifteen years, the cultural international Woman Scream cause (Grito de Mujer), in collaboration with the Women Poets International Movement (MPI), has created books, anthologies, and collective compilations rooted in solidarity to women and girls rights around the world. This time, the call is open for participation in one printed volume, which will include the categories of short story, visual arts, and poetry. Artists must be willing to accept payment in return for granting permission to PANYNJ to replicate the selected work(s) on glass tile, which will be part of the interior of the Station Access escalator area.

The Office of Arts and Culture presents an ongoing series of temporary public interventions through the Experiments in Public Art program which serves as a city-wide laboratory expanding the potential of public art. Unlike a traditional public art commission, Experiments in Public Art projects are as much an experiment for the community as they are opportunities for artists to work within unconventional parameters. Participating artists are selected, in part, by incorporating concepts and materials that extend beyond the notion of traditional public art.

The Art in Public Places program enriches New Mexico’s public spaces through an innovative and diverse public art collection. Since its inception in 1986, the program has placed more than 3,000 works of art in all of New Mexico’s 33 counties. Through a fair and open public process, committees made up of local and regional representatives work with New Mexico Arts staff to select artwork for their communities. The Sun Valley Museum of Art invites Idaho-based artists to submit materials for consideration for a 2027 exhibition at the museum. Guest Curator Melissa Ragain will select artists for studio visits in anticipation of choosing a final group of artists for the exhibition.
