The Sir Nicholas Goodison Award aims to support the next generation of ambitious contemporary craft curators in the UK.

The award, up to £60,000, offers 100% funding for a focused collecting project, enabling a curator to expand their museum or gallery’s collection of contemporary craft into exciting new areas or deepen existing holdings in significant ways.

International Photography & Film Awards 

A FREE to enter International Photography & Film Awards with a prize pool value of over $50,000 USD across several genres. Photographers of all ages, backgrounds, and experience are eligible to enter the Xposure International Awards. We have also included a category for filmmakers. The panel of judges are looking to award an Overall Winner from the photography categories and additionally a winner and runner-up from each category including moving images & short films. The Jury is looking for unique, exceptional, and high-quality images.

Leica Women Foto Project Award

The Leica Women Foto Project Award will grant three photographers $10,000 each to help complete an in-progress, personal photo project that bears witness to humanity, expressed through the female point of view. In addition to the financial award, each winner will receive a Leica SL2-S camera and a Leica Vario Elmarit-SL 24-70mm lens, to further support the completion of the personal project. Applications for the Leica Women Foto Project Award will be reviewed by a panel of renowned figures in the world of photography.

Gomma Photography Grant 

The Gomma Photography Grant is a grant contest tailored to fund and support photographers working in various genre. Begun in 2014, the Gomma Grant has quickly acquired a reputation for being ethical and quality-focused, with an eye for spotting fresh talent and encouraging those already in the spotlight. Photographers that are recognized through the Gomma Grant are known to have grown their career to a higher level, both professionally and artistically.  The Gomma Grant is open to everyone: any nationality, any background, and working with different medium (black & white or color, analogue or digital). Gomma's juror and editors are looking for consistency, personality, and courage.

The Hopper Prize

The Hopper Prize is now accepting entries for our Fall 2022 artist grants. They are offering $3,500 and $1,000 grants to artists & photographers around the world. This open call provides you with a direct path to get your work in front of forward thinking exhibition makers. In addition to grants, 30 artists will be selected for a shortlist. Additional exposure is available via an online Journal as well as The Hopper Prize’s Instagram feed, currently reaching an audience over 67k.

The Jones Gallery, located in the nationally recognized Kansas City Crossroads Arts District, invites you to apply for our December Group Art Show.

The Jones Gallery is in a 100-year-old historically registered warehouse, having 9000 sq. ft. of display space. In business over 10 years, and open full time six days a week.

This group art show is open to 2D artists, 3D artists, and photographers. No reproductions of original paintings or drawings are allowed. Gallery will jury 0, 1, 2 or a maximum of 3 pieces to exhibit during the group art show.

The American Watercolor Society announces a call to artists for a juried exhibition, April 3-28, 2023 at the Salmagundi Club in New York, NY. Up to $50,000 total in awards. Open to all living artists. Mediums accepted: acrylic, ceramics, drawing, fiber, glass, mixed media, oil, pastel, print, photograph, sequential art, sculpture, and watercolor/watermedia artworks. The Colored Pencil Society of America seeks entries for an online exhibition. $2000 for EXPY Best of Show Award; lesser amounts and product awards given to other winners. Juror: Emily Stamey, curator and head of exhbitions at the Weatherspoon Art Museum at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Open to all living artists 18 years or older. International Biennale of Glass 

The International Biennale of Glass (IBG) is an unparalleled event in Bulgaria in its widely international outlook and exclusive focus on glass art and its recent achievements on the global art scene. IBG takes place every two years, between October and November, with continuous yearly activity in the Bulgarian and international cultural calendars. Guests of the event are international artists and lecturers who introduce the audience to the opportunities and accomplishments in this field of fine arts. IBG consists of exhibitions with selected works, educational lectures and various workshops, which reach great success and provide interactive ways of public engagement. The official selection of participating artworks is made by an international jury committee that evaluates the candidates’ submissions.

Colors of Humanity Art Gallery seeks entries for an online art exhibition, December 1-31, 2022. Cash awards. Juror: Janelle Cogan. Theme- "Blue" This color is symbolic for many different things and emotions. It is most commonly associated with harmony, faithfulness, confidence, distance, infinity, the imagination, cold, and sometimes with sadness. It can be expressed many ways and we look forward to seeing your interpretation. We will be donating 10% of all entry fees to Natural High, a national nonprofit organization inspiring youth to discover, amplify and pursue their natural high so they have a reason to say no to drugs and alcohol. Merged: d'Art's Third National Exhibition of Collage and Assemblage

Merged is an exhibition of original unique 2D and 3D collage and assemblage artworks that includes mediums specifically (but not limited to), found objects, recycled materials, paper, fiber, wood, and metal. Collages and assemblages must be free standing, wall mount, or pedestal ready. Work may be no longer than 60” in its longest dimension, and weigh no more than 50 pounds. Diversity & Religion Exhibition

Get The Trolls Out! is organizing an exhibition of artworks exploring the theme of 'Diversity & Religion' in collaboration with the University of Westminster Diversity and Inclusion Research Community.  The Get the Trolls Out! project, led by the Media Diversity Institute, has been monitoring media in seven European countries, noticing an increasingly concerning distribution of antisemitic and Islamophobic visual and video media. The planned exhibition, in collaboration with the University of Westminster in London, is an attempt to counter this hateful content by promoting human rights narratives about ‘Diversity & Religion’ in Europe.

Yosemite Renaissance 2023 Exhibition

Yosemite Renaissance is a non-profit art organization dedicated to encouraging artists to create diverse interpretations of Yosemite National Park and the surrounding Sierra Nevada region. The organization seeks to inspire new generations to understand, preserve and protect our wild lands and natural places through art.

The Yosemite Renaissance Exhibition is an annual exhibit that offers an opportunity for artists inspired by nature and the California Sierra Nevada region to display and promote their art. The exhibit opens at Gallery 5, Yosemite Gateway Art Center in Oakhurst in March 2023, then travels to Kings Art Center in Hanford, Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock, the historic Yosemite National Park Museum Gallery in the heart of Yosemite Valley, and MCAC Circle Gallery in Madera.

Newport Beach Civic Center Sculpture Exhibition

The City of Newport Beach is pleased to announce a call for entries for Phase VIII of its ongoing Sculpture Exhibition to further activate the splendor of the City’s Civic Center Park. Artists, private collectors, galleries, and museums/non-profit institutions are invited to submit artworks for consideration for a temporary exhibition at the site.

Up to ten artworks may be selected and showcased for two years in the heart of Newport Beach in Civic Center Park. The 14-acre, ocean-view site was specially designed by renowned landscape architect Peter Walker as an intended sculpture garden. The Civic Center Park has developed into a destination for residents and visitors to gather for events and activities including summer concerts on the lawn, art shows, docent-led sculpture park tours, visits to the dog park, or leisurely walks along the park’s winding trail, appreciating its environmentally-friendly expanse of native plant life. As home to City Hall, City administrative offices, and the Central Branch of the city’s public library system, the Civic Center is the heart of Newport Beach.

The streets have long been an inspiration to photographers—offering nooks to hide, pathways to meander, and a psychogeographic web to traverse the collective narrative of everyday life. The Trail of Painted Ponies invites artists to let their imaginations run wild, using three-dimensional horse forms as a canvas for creative expression. The PleinAir Salon $33,000 Art Competition is a monthly online competition consisting of 19 categories. Over $33,000 is awarded each year for this competition. The Annual Grand Prize winner receives a check for $15,000 and is featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine. An additional $6,500 is awarded to the annual winners and $1,100 is awarded monthly to the top three winners of each competition as well as a People’s Choice Award. Each of the 23 monthly winners will be automatically entered into the Annual Competition. The annual awards are presented live at the Plein Air Convention & Expo each spring.

Originally founded in 2013 as Fresh Paint Magazine, the publication rebranded to Create! AWARE Research Residencies at Villa Vassilieff

AWARE: Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions is setting up a new residency programme at the Villa Vassilieff in Paris for research on women and non-binary photographers and video artists.

The resident will have an independent living and working studio of 44m² (473 ft²) within the Villa Vassilieff. The resident will also have access to AWARE’s resource and information centre, which contains nearly 3,000 references on women artists (monographs, critical essays, exhibition catalogues, etc.)

2023 Inbreak Residency

The Inbreak Residency is a co-learning and making environment that promotes a collective exploration of the intersections of art, faith, and race in the United States. Bernheim Artist Residency

For over four decades, the Artist in Residence program has attracted artists from around the world who seek to use Bernheim as their inspiration. Established in 1980, this internationally renowned program annually awards artists the opportunity to live and create site specific work inspired by their total immersion experience in the natural environment. The work created through this program allows our visitors to experience nature in new and exciting ways while enhancing awareness of Bernheim’s mission of connecting people to nature.

KIRA International Artist Residency Open Call

Every year KIRA awards 6 artists with a one month residency. Artists are provided with individual studio space, comfortable housing, two prepared meals each day, a stipend and live on a historic property in a beautiful seaside town. Artists should bring all supplies and materials needed for their creative process, to ensure availability of required supplies and provisions. As part of the residency, artists will be asked to engage with the community for up to six hours a week. These engagements will vary based on skills and interest and can include a partnership with Kingsbrae Garden which is located just steps away from the residence and studios.

Moab Arts Re-Use Residency (MARR)

MARR’s mission is to challenge the perception of waste culture by providing a unique platform for artists at the intersection of art, community, and waste systems. The Moab area is highly impacted by the tourism industry and, as a result, waste management. By facilitating artists’ direct engagement with the waste stream, MARR encourages resident artists to consider their studio practice through the lens of sustainability and to thoughtfully re-assess their processes of material sourcing and waste disposal.

Massachusetts Design Art & Technology Institute, DATMA, is considering proposals for outdoor public installation centered around the theme of shelter. New Bedford, MA will serve as the canvas for public art exploring the role of shelter within the histories, communities, and cultures of the SouthCoast region and beyond. We welcome artists to consider themes including but not limited to: housing, the Underground Railroad, and/or immigration.

Sculpture in the City Open Call 

Sculpture in the City (SITC) is an award-winning annual urban sculpture park, launching each year in June. It is a cultural initiative delivered by the City of London Corporation in partnership with 11 local businesses with a mission to present cultural projects in line with the Lord Mayor’s vision and support for London’s creative industries and artistic talent. SITC uses the Square Mile as an outdoor urban gallery space to show the best of contemporary art by established and emerging artists from the UK and the world. Open 24/7 with no admission charge, it is London’s largest free outdoor display of public art.

2023 Winter Park Paint Out

The Winter Park Paint Out is one of the oldest plein air festivals in the state of Florida. During its 14 year history, 90 different artists have created over 3500 original paintings capturing the beauty and charm of our unique Central Florida community. Of those paintings, approximately 1250 have been purchased by our patrons, sponsors and supporters for a cumulative sales total of approximately $1,000,000.

The Winter Park Paint Out is a JURIED entry event. We encourage all plein air artists to apply and welcome both local, out-of-state, and international participants. Select artists from the 2022 Paint Out will be asked to return based on their number of sales. The remaining spaces are open to any other artists wishing to return in 2023 or to participate for the first time. To be considered for one of these open positions, please complete our online application. There is no application fee.

Lone Tree Arts Commission Utility Wrap Program

The Lone Tree Arts Commission seeks submissions from Colorado artists or artist groups for their 2022 utility wrap program. Each year the Commission seeks to beautify the many traffic signal and utility boxes placed throughout the city through the selection of original designs from Colorado artists. The selected designs will be printed on vinyl and will cover the box. A third-party fabricator will be used to print and install the wraps. Work can be in any medium as long as it can be translated into a digital file, a PDF in vector format, 300 dpi. The fabricator does not have the ability to scan or convert any physical paintings/artwork to digital. Each artist or group can submit up to 3 original works for consideration. All artwork should be finalized, not conceptual. The chosen designs will engage all sides of the box. Two designs will be selected for installation and awarded $500 each. No entry fee.

The UCF Art Gallery at the University of Central Florida is seeking Exhibition Proposals for the 2023-2024 academic year. Solo artists, artist groups and curators are encouraged to apply. The Art Guide

Not sure if you want to apply through a third party, Art Guide is the free artist opportunity site for you. This call for entries website allows you to apply directly to the organization offering the grant. The list is updated daily so there'll always be a great new opportunity to pursue.

Formerly Artist Opportunity Monthly, all you need to do is sign up with your email and they send you thoroughly screened opportunities every month, including grants. AOM prides itself on ensuring each opportunity is worthwhile. A more comprehensive monthly list is offered at $5 a year.

ArtDeadline.com

Another site you may have heard of is ArtDeadline.com. According to their website, it is “the largest and most respected source for artists seeking income and exhibition opportunities.” The site may cost you a subscription fee of $20 a year to view the majority of its opportunities, but you can still browse many grants listed for free on their homepage and the @ArtDeadline Twitter account.

Curator Space

CuratorSpace is a project management toolkit for curators, organizers, galleries, and artists. It is designed to take the hassle out of managing exhibitions, competitions, fairs, and a whole lot more. Plus, they are a great site for finding art opportunities worldwide!

Re-title.com

Re-title is a service for professional contemporary artists searching for opportunities, such as competitions, exhibitions, residencies, etc. A site for international contemporary art, this is another great site to find opportunities around the world! There’s even a map you can click on to search opportunities regionally and world clocks at the top of their site so you can submit applications on time!

Resartis.org

Res Artist is a Worldwide Network of Arts Residencies from around the globe. The network comprises more than 700 vetted members in over 85 countries. They aim to support and connect residencies, engage and advocate the importance of residencies in today’s society by providing artists with resources and upcoming residency information. 

Art Rabbit 

Art Rabbit compiles a selection of international open calls and opportunities for contemporary art-related competitions, prizes, exhibitions, awards, proposals, and grants for artists, writers, and curators. They publish a selection of open calls from a pool of submissions and editorial research. Only open calls believed to offer meaningful benefits to applicants at different stages of their careers are published.

Creative Capital 

Creative Capital is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to fund artists in the creation of groundbreaking new work in the visual arts, performing arts, literature, film, technology, and multidisciplinary practices, including socially-engaged work in all forms. Their pioneering model of grantmaking also provides thousands of artists with scaffolding and infrastructure support via professional development programs, networking opportunities, and educational resources.

Art Show 

Artshow.com attracts thousands of artists and art enthusiasts each day. They advertise worldwide juried shows, exhibitions, and competitions across any and all mediums. Artshow.com has been recognized in "Must-See Web Sites for Artists" by The Artist's Magazine and has received favorable mention in several other art publications, including American Artist, Southwest Art, Watercolor Magic, and The Pastel Journal, as well as The Wall Street Journal.
