Abrazo (Embrace)
Abrazo or embrace is a new call for art and was born out of a desire to celebrate (and embrace) an even broader community of artists during this 10th year of Verum Ultimum. It will push the boundary of what is possible. Every artist that enters this call for art is guaranteed to have 1 work accepted. It will be Verum's biggest exhibition to date and will serve to celebrate the depth of talent and vision within Verum's sphere. Verum Ultimum has exhibited thousands of artists over the past ten years with juried exhibitions that customarily feature between 45 and 75 artists per exhibit. Abrazo will embrace the entire pool of entries and will welcome the challenge of creating a cohesive voice from the plethora (it's one of the best parts of the process, making it come together visually, and thematically). This exhibition will vibrate with energy, celebration, and acceptance. Verum looks forward to embracing what comes in!

The Narrative
Narrative art is a powerful means to explore and express aspects of the human condition. A narrative can tell stories about a wide range of subjects, recount tales from religion, myth, legend, history, and literature, or examine existential questions, such as the meaning of life, death, and the nature of reality. A well-crafted narrative can transport us to another time and place, entertain, educate, and inspire or help us to view the world in a new way, reminding us of our shared humanity and the beauty of the world around us. Tell us, what's your story?
The Narrative is an international juried group exhibition open to artists ages 18 and older. Call for Art-STILL
Beauty in the ordinary, in the stillness. Art is about capturing those moments that are gone again in a flash, moments that we find when we slow down. A fresh bouquet of flowers, a breathtaking sunset, a sense of joy witnessed. It's about embracing the little things, the simple pleasures that often go unnoticed in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. So, pause, take a breath, and soak in the stillness. Let yourself be captivated by the ordinary, for it is in those moments that you will find true beauty. Show us STILL from your perspective.

Degrees of Commitment: Climate, Ecosystems, and Society
For centuries, artists have put their vision and skill to work for the betterment of society in an effort to effect change and expand our understanding of complex issues. Information based solely on data can often leave people feeling overwhelmed, disempowered, disconnected, and sometimes hopeless in the face of daunting odds. Art has the incredible power to compel thought, elicit feelings, and inspire discourse, which in turn, can motivate engagement and galvanize action; why we make, what we make, and how we make work matters and makes a difference in the world.
For this national juried exhibition, we are looking for works that foster awareness and caring for the environment, advocate for climate action, seek climate justice, or inspire sustainability. As the earth continues to warm, the hazards we face increase; weather extremes, food and water insecurities, pandemics, even allergy season is lengthened and intensified. Collective action is needed. How can art make a difference with such a monumental undertaking? Art doesn’t show people what to do but it can make one feel and inspire one to think more deeply. These thoughts and feelings can motivate people to become more engaged and take action. Every action, no matter how small, has a cumulative effect when many people engage

AVA Community Art Center in Gillette, WY invites artists to submit three (3) artworks for consideration in the Harvest Exhibition. The deadline to submit to this exhibit is June 23rd, 2023 by 11:59pm.
The theme of Harvest is a broad one. Many crops are planted and tended before harvest while other delights are found in the wild. Apples and asparagus are harvested and so are tea, truffles and trees. And… cabbages, coconuts, cranberries, cocoa, and coffee.
When you picture these plants and fruits, do you also see the love and labor of people? Do you see cooking and artful display of food? Family dinner? A baby enjoying the textures of playing with their food? The theme of Harvest is broad and subject to your interpretation.
