This year we summarize the Summer Residencies with the second edition of the Free Creation Week. This proposal is intended for creative people, whether professional artists or not, who wish to dedicate a few days to creative work. It may be that there has been an idea floating around for some time and that we need to stop with it for a bit. Or perhaps a project that was left in the air and that we want to return to. This is a time of rest, listening and enjoyment. A time and space to attend to our needs and connect with ourselves from our creative side, letting us feel and inhabit a caring and inspiring climate. The town is just a step away and so is the mountain, offering us walks, material for creation and a very beautiful perspective of Algodonales.

In addition to the creation time, which each person manages at their own pace and way, each day we have a proposal shared as a group. These group proposals are activities aimed at supporting personal processes and group coexistence:

– Río Abierto expressive movement wheel.
– visit a white town in the area.
– Kayak paddling trip.
– dinner with the sunset.
– group art therapy session.
– summer cinema.
– presentation of proposals and open doors. On the last day, Sunday the 21st, we will open the doors of the house to show the works and welcome the people into the spaces of the house.
The theme for this meeting is free, although proposals that have to do with the approaches of the La Casa Móvil project will be valued. Body, nature and care are the themes that give meaning to this space.
To request one of the 5 places for the Free Creation Week, the artist must send a resume and a digital dossier with a brief summary of the proposal to be developed, as well as a link to the website or social networks.

Apply to be a part of the proposed exhibition, Favor the Bold, curated by J Studio LLC.

The exhibition aims to celebrate art created by LGBTQIA+ artists in the greater DC and NYC area. Preference will be given to art that celebrates bold and unapologetic self-expression through the use of striking colors, textures, sounds, or other artistic mediums.

Favor the Bold will be curated and submitted to the city of DC's Art Exhibition Grant (FY2025) by J Studio. If the exhibition is selected by the city, Favor the Bold will be shown in the nation's 2025 World Pride Exhibition, held in Washington, D.C.

Acceptance to J Studio's curation does not guarantee that the proposed exhibit will be selected by the city. All accepted artists will receive $2000 and will be informed of their application outcome by mid-October.

Embracing Our Differences is seeking submissions for an outdoor juried art exhibit featuring 50 billboard size images created by local, national and international artists. The display reflects the artists' interpretations of the theme " embracing our differences." The exhibit will be on display January 19 through April 13, 2025 in two locations in Sarasota and St. Petersburg Florida. The winning artworks combine a deep understanding of both medium and message. Awards are given for "Best-in-Show Adult," "Best-in-Show Student," and "People's Choice" categories, with the last chosen by exhibit visitors to each location.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Wine and Art event in Downtown Gilroy, newly renamed the Heart of Gilroy Festival! In 2023, we had a beautiful event in April, and we are looking forward to our July event in 2024. Artists and food vendors line the streets of charming downtown Gilroy, while local wineries and breweries are stationed throughout downtown. We expect to have between 2000-3000 people attending the festival this year.

The Heart of Gilroy Festival is a two part event. The art, food, and vendor portion starts at 11am and runs through to 7pm. The Wine Walk is a ticketed event, and is from 1-6pm (21+).

Artist must apply here first, and submit a one page PDF of their work, and festival set-up. If you do not have pictures of your set-up, please provide a detailed description of your proposed set-up. Once you’ve applied, your application will be reviewed. If accepted, you can purchase your booth.

Gravy Studio and Eddi Jones Projects present the 20/20 Photo Festival Call for Entry show centered around the theme Technology: Before, During, After. The show will bring together a wide range of perspectives on old and new photographic technologies from emerging and established photographers from Philadelphia and beyond. We invite any artist whose work relates to the theme to submit photographic artwork to be selected by photographer and curator Travis Flack, a multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. Travis works primarily with photography, using various methods of image manipulation to create chaotic scenes of revised history through alteration and intervention. He also supports artists and photo organizations working with Eddi Jones Projects, a boutique, artist-run agency.

The theme for this year’s show is based on Douglas Adam’s commentary on living and growing with technology in his collection of posthumous essays The Salmon of Doubt:

1. Anything that is in the world when you’re born is normal and ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.

2. Anything that’s invented between when you’re fifteen and thirty-five is new and exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.

3. Anything invented after you’re thirty-five is against the natural order of things.

22 years after its initial publication, it seems that these satirical rules still have some poignant relevance in today’s rapidly-changing advancement of photographic technology. A large majority of photographers working today have made the switch from film to digital, swapped chemistry for pixels and were able to increase their workflow accordingly.

For some, a romantic inclination to remain with past processes became a choice in both rejecting modernity while embracing tradition with a refreshing contemporary twist. For others, embracing cutting-edge tools like AI provides an opportunity to create new visual culture and update old traditions to reflect the present day.

While Adams might have given us a guideline for how technology will eventually show up in different stages of our lives, artists have a tendency to gravitate towards methods that are personal, choosing technology that relates to how they grew up, what they are now, and where they’ve been.

Before, During, After is an open call that explores how experience is shaped by technology, and the particular ways in which tools, old and new, reflect the personal nature of image-making as a form of self expression.

Submission Guidelines: Photographic artwork in the theme of Technology: Before, During, After. Upload 5-10 files. Each file must be 72 dpi, 1000px on longest side, 2Mb or less. File labeling: Last Name_First Name_Title (ex: Doe_Jane_Title)

Printing: All selected work will be printed by Gravy Studio and Butterfield Editions on Tyvek material and hung with magnets. Artists can keep prints after the exhibition has been taken down. Pick-up and Delivery options for prints will be available in October.

The Emerald Coast National (ECN) is a juried exhibition held annually at Mattie Kelly Art Center Galleries, Northwest Florida State College. What began as a regional show has evolved into far-reaching, exciting programming of a range of media styles by emerging to established artists reflecting what they are doing in the world today. ECN is a show that people travel to see and a program that locals look forward to all year! We leave the theme open and publicize the call on known artist platforms. We invite all art styles, materials, mediums,etc.—including sound art, kinetic art, sculpture, photography, video, design, craft, and even performance if you can provide documentation for the application. We typically see a couple hundred applications from working artists across the US and some non-US who work in contemporary, experimental, and classical mediums, styles, and techniques. Best in Show wins a cash award of 1000.00 and a solo curated by MKAC, typically exhibited during the next season's ECN show. This year's ECN will be guest juried by accomplished professor and artist Sarah Knobel.

The Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) Residency Program offers Artists-in-Residence the unique opportunity to live and work inside a dedicated studio: the Helen Frankenthaler Printmaking Cottage. Within this space artists can produce a body of work in a supportive atmosphere that fosters creative growth and development, for traditional as well as innovative printmaking techniques.

The intention of the residency is to offer artists one to two weeks of uninterrupted, 24/7 time and privacy in a well-equipped studio with onsite living accommodations. This residency has proven to be an ideal opportunity for experimentation and collaboration. Artists can add to their work practice, explore new mediums, create an edition, or otherwise advance their printmaking skills. CCP strives to advance outcomes from the residency that stimulate original and inventive work that the artist might not otherwise have attempted absent these amenities.

One of the goals of our residency programs, whether Professional Development or Self-funded, is engaging our local community in an exchange of ideas and techniques. Artists-in-residence will have the opportunity to conduct a studio talk or workshop for the Norwalk community and greater New York metropolitan area. CCP will work with the artist to schedule and promote the additional programming through various outreach methods, including social media, to ensure a broad audience.

Magic Circles is an online laboratory for projects exploring the social and technical aspects of virtual worlds. Seeking to investigate virtual worlds in all their wealth and diversity, the Magic Circles laboratory programme invites practitioners from different areas to engage in an eight-week cycle of online discussions, tours, and experiments.

The organisers are looking for projects at any stage of development that explore the possibilities (and shortcomings) of virtual worlds. The laboratory is conceived as a sort of horizontal production residence, through which participants will be encouraged to support and guide each other in their online spaces of choice.

Examples of eligible projects include:

Fusion Art invites submissions for the 6th Annual Lines, Shapes & Objects art competition for an online exhibition during the month of July 2024.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography depicting lines, shapes & objects.

The artwork for this competition can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and all artists, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best representative and/or abstract work in any media.

Pier-2 Art Center Artist-in-Residence Programme (PAIR) in Kaohsiung, southern Taiwan, is calling for applications from artists and artistic groups of all nationalities who have at least two years of experience in art creation. Selected artists should carry out their residency for 60-85 days within the period of 1 January to 31 December 2025. The residency duration must not be less than 60 days.

Kaohsiung, located in the southern Taiwan, is the second largest city of the country and was once an industrial metropolis. With a seaport that serves as the gateway to international trade, Kaohsiung is characterised by diverse development, passion, and liveliness.

PAIR designates a section of Dayi Warehouse as the dedicated space for resident artists and artistic groups. A 33-square-meter creation space (complete with a bathroom) and a 17-square-meter attic for living space are available for artists to create artworks. Currently, the Center provides eight artist studios (including living space) and one lounge – a versatile area suitable for idea exchange, cooking, dining, administration, lectures, meetings, and more – offering resident artists a platform rich in art and cultural resources for exhibitions, performances, and exchanges.

The proposed residency plan must incorporate aspects of Kaohsiung’s local culture, geographic environment, cultural landscape, social conditions, and other relevant issues. The artworks created should be exhibited by the end of the residency. All forms of artistic expression are acceptable.

Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS), operated by a division of The Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo, offers artist-in-residence programmes for international creators working in various creative fields to stay, engage in creation and conduct research activities in Tokyo.

There are currently three residency programmes that support artist mobility:

International Creator Residency Programme: Individual Projects (3-month residencies)
International Creator Residency Programme: Theme Projects (3-month residencies)
The Curator Residency Programme (1–3-month residencies)
There is also a Research Residency Programme that offers accommodation for shorter residencies.

Each programme has a different time periods in 2025 and 2026, eligibility requirements and presentation requirements, so refer to their website for details.

For International Creator Residency Programmes, TOKAS Residency offers living space, airfare, living expenses (3,500 JPY/day), and a fee for creative work/project (300,000 JPY), as well as shared studio space.

Presenting the 3rd "Open Theme" international competition and online exhibition. Artists of all ages from around the world are invited to participate, with complete freedom in choosing their preferred media and style. The competition's theme is "Open," allowing participants to express their creativity by submitting artworks on any subject matter of their choice. Only artists whose works are selected as finalists will be required to pay a $35 participation fee. Finalists will have their artwork showcased online and advance to the final round of judging, where they will be considered for cash prizes, including the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000.

In contrast to themed competitions that dictate a specific topic or idea, open-themed contests like this one grant artists the freedom to express their creativity without confines on subject matter. Such competitions foster a plethora of artistic interpretations and styles, enabling artists to delve into diverse themes, concepts, and genres driven by their personal interests, experiences, or creative musings. This format empowers artists to exhibit their uniqueness and artistic flair.

Designed for professional craft artists who are at a pivotal moment in their creative practice or career, the residency is an opportunity for them to pursue objectives that will have a lasting effect on their work and their lives. Depending on the nature of an applicant’s goals, we now offer two options for interested candidates.

1-year project-based residency; artists submit a project proposal and may use the time to push technical and conceptual boundaries, conduct research and development in a particular topic or process, or explore an entirely new aspect of their work. 3-year career transition residency; artists submit objectives to advance their studio practice, to work out the practicalities of making a living, or to make a formative transition in their career path.

The 6th VH AWARD, Asia’s leading award for promising media artists, is now open for applications. Since its establishment in 2016, the VH AWARD has offered a platform for emerging media artists to showcase their artistic expression and engage in a discussion on diverse cultural and socio-political issues.

Applicants for the 6th VH AWARD are required to submit proposals to produce audiovisual screen-based artworks that may include, but are not limited to, video art, moving images, film, motion graphics, computer animation, gaming, and more. Applications may be submitted by individuals or collectives who engage in the context of Asia in their work.

The five finalists will each receive a grant of 25,000 USD to produce new artworks. In addition, through a partnership with Eyebeam, the five finalists will be invited to participate in an online residency programme. This programme, led by artists and curators from Eyebeam, will take place prior to the submission of their final works.

The recipient of the Grand Prix will be announced in June 2025 and receive an additional grant of 25,000 USD. The artworks created by the Grand Prix recipient and the rest of the 6th VH AWARD finalists will be exhibited across various art institutions and platforms around the globe, including the Vision Hall of Hyundai Motor Group in Yongin, South Korea; the House of Electronic Arts in Basel, Switzerland; the Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria; the National Art Council in Singapore; and other venues.

LIBERATED FORMS 2024 is a celebration of Diversity and Desire. The national exhibition of visual arts will run August 8 - 31, 2024 at The Studio Door (San Diego, CA). This is a new exhibition for the gallery. The Studio Door is seeking artwork that represents body and sex positive visual art. The exhibition hopes to be a safe space for dialogue and discussion surrounding contemporary experiences of sex and sexuality.

This show will include a mature contents warning and a code of conduct. Guests must be 18 years or older with valid proof of ID for the duration of the exhibition. No photography will be allowed in the gallery during this exhibit.

She later moved to New York City where she continued to discover emerging designers and work with high-end designers like Oscar De La Renta, and introduced them to Japanese retailers. In 2007, Mikiko met and later married Kikuo Saito, a Japanese-born American abstract painter with ties to the Color Field movement and Lyrical abstraction. Following Saito’s death in 2016, she founded KinoSaito Art Center in 2018. Mikiko has given new life to the former St.Patrick school building, turning it into a paradise for art lovers which outlives its original purpose while retaining its historic features. The Center has become a special nexus, housing art galleries, a multipurpose performance space, two beautiful studios for rotating resident artists, a classroom for arts education and public programs.

Always on the First Friday in October, TERRAIN is an annual, juried multimedia art and music event celebrating artists in the Spokane area. Featuring new works by hundreds of artists, and attracting thousands of attendees, it is a celebration of new energy and fresh ideas from all over the artistic spectrum.

From painting to poetry to interactive art and film, we try to showcase a little of everything that’s happening to make the Inland Empire a more vibrant, cultural and beautiful place.

All work is juried by a panel of professionals working in Spokane’s creative scene. Be sure to submit your strongest work, with clear images, in good lighting. We typically get about 400 artists who submit to the show, so think about what will make your work standout and easily discernible by the jury.
You can submit up to 5 artworks for FREE. The jury looks at each submission individually (vs. as a body of work), so if you're juried into the show, some of your pieces might be accepted while others might not.
If you'd like to submit more than 5 pieces, you can! However, we charge an additional $4 fee per submission. We also cap extra submissions at 5 ($20 total). It takes each juror approximately 25-30 hours to look through applications. This fee helps to compensate them for their extra time.
This is NOT meant to be an example of your work. The pieces you submit are what will be juried into the show. Each submission MUST be available at the time of the event. No substitutions can be made. No exceptions.
This is a raw-space show taking over about 40,000 square feet in an empty building in downtown, Spokane.

Terrain is a FREE community event put on by a non-profit organization. This event was created to build community, make connections, and give exposure to those who participate. We do not pay people to participate, however, there are opportunities to sell your work including original artworks + prints, band merchandise, books, etc.
Work cannot be shipped to or from Terrain.

These few words – whether understood in the context of Mahmoud Darweesh’s overall writing or just read on their own – convey an image of absurdity, scarcity, struggle, persistence, and beauty at the same time. In the field of arts and culture across the MENA region, quite a few stones are being gnawed at that relate to scarce funding and a sense of constant emergency, among others. Yet, the possibility of cultivating jasmine may seem blurred or even distant at times.

The invitation below does not come with remedies, nor does it presume answers about the ways to (more) jasmine. Instead, it offers an opportunity to take a closer look at the sense of togetherness that the quote starts with: the "we”. And it intends to open a space for one of the superpowers of Mahmoud Darweesh and his poetry: imagination.

In today’s context, this invitation may seem particularly difficult to follow – as difficult as it may be to still see the individual stones in the piles of rubble around us. Yet, we invite you to walk these challenging terrains together. We recognize that adapting to the field’s challenges of the present and of the future will require a continuous collective effort. Our guiding question on this path shall therefore be: “How can we further evolve and build field supporting roles within the civic space of arts and culture in the MENA region?”

The invitation

In the MENA region, the civic space and the arts and culture sector face significant challenges such as organizational self-preservation, reliance on external funding, and the need to constantly adapt to emergencies. Additionally, deteriorating operating conditions in contexts of censorship and armed conflicts exacerbate these challenges. While some factors seem hard to influence, this invitation supposes that taking an ecosystem perspective on the wider field of arts and culture and its connection to the civic space offers valuable questions in working with these challenges and the means to address them.

Such questions include:

What promising practices already exist and provide a starting point for further development of the field?
What relationships between actors or networks can be initiated or worked on for the benefit of the whole system?
What are the current roles and their distribution, and how could they be developed to increase the capacity to shape the civic space?
What would an imagined future require in terms of learning practices and resources?
How could the field benefit from more and stronger linkages with other stakeholders within the civic space?
The program offers

The program invites twelve organizations working in Tunisia, Morocco, Jordan, Egypt, or Lebanon to a learning journey to further develop their role as field supporters and to work on their learning practice towards the field they operate in. Operating in another country in the region is welcome, as long as at least one of the five mentioned countries is a major focus. Diaspora organizations coming from the region and working for the region are equally invited to take part.

It is an 18-month pilot program (2024-2026), comprised of three core components:

Peer-learning: Up to four gatherings will be organized for selected participants and co-learners to facilitate knowledge exchange.
Role-experimentation grants: Participants will receive a total of 20,000 USD in two installments to support tailored interventions and integrating learning into organizational processes.
Practicing the role of a field supporter: Participants will self-define activities or approaches to explore and develop, while receiving coaching and support throughout the program.
The iac Berlin runs this program from 2024 to 2026 also with the aim to establish a caring role for field supporters which can be handed over to one or more organizations from the region in its final phase. The program is funded by the Ford Foundation.

This program is suited for organizations engaged in field supporting activities, particularly those dedicated to improving the health and sustainability of the arts and cultural fields in their civic spaces. Ideal applicants view this opportunity as a pathway for experimentation, organizational growth, and professional development. We are looking for organizations which have a long-term strategic interest in taking on a pivotal role in nurturing and supporting the field they operate in.

Brushstrokes is a non-themed juried exhibition. It is held annually and is open to all painters
residing in California. It showcases a diverse array of unique artistic expression across various
painting mediums, including acrylic, oil, pastel, watercolor, encaustic, digital, and collage.
Juror: The juror for this year’s exhibit is Frank Eber, an award-winning artist and Signature
member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS), American Watercolor Society (AWS),
the National Watercolor Society (NWS) and a juried Artist member of the prestigious
California Art Club. He conducts workshops and demonstrations locally and at the national
and international level, working in both oil and water media.
He writes, “Subject matter is really secondary to me. I am looking for interacting patterns
and shapes, and above all, for some meaning that lies beyond technical ability, beyond

Jurying Process: Juror will select paintings from digital images supplied by artists. Final
show selection and awards will be made from the actual submitted work. The Juror and The
Painters Group reserve the right to reject any painting that does not meet the standards as
shown in the images supplied.
Cash awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on August 11.
Notification of Acceptance: Notification will be made by email by July 17, 2024
Agreements: Submission of work to this exhibition constitutes an agreement to the
conditions stated in the Call For Artists and a commitment to show accepted work for the
duration of the exhibition. By entering this exhibition, artists agree to allow The Painters
Group and Art Center Morro Bay to use submitted images in promotional material.
Sales: All artwork must be for sale. Prices set by the artist may not be changed after
acceptance. The Morro Bay Art Association will retain a 25 percent commission on all art
sales. The artist receives 75 percent of the sale.
Insurance and Care: Artists are encouraged to carry their own insurance. The Painters
Group and Art Center Morro Bay representatives will make every reasonable effort to
protect art from the time it is received until it is returned to the artist. They will not be held
responsible for any damage or theft.

Angels Gate Cultural Center, the designated Public Art Advisor for the West Harbor Waterfront Development, is seeking multiple proposals for public art of various mediums, including but not limited to, murals, large scale sculpture, sound art, digital art projections/video displays, and multi-sensory experiences. Selected projects will demonstrate unique artistic perspectives and approaches that are interested in investigating the Port of Los Angeles and topics relevant to our local diverse communities that call San Pedro home. Applications for Phase I: Request for Qualifications, are due by 11:59pm on July 8, 2024.

A public Information Session will be held on Zoom Wednesday, May 29 at 7pm Pacific Time. This session will seek feedback from the local community regarding public art installations at the waterfront, and review the Request for Qualifications process.

The Awards is a testament to UOB's commitment to uncovering artistic talents and rejuvenating the cultural heritage of ink art. The Awards invites the Art and Design Education FutureLab (FutureLab) as the strategic partner to provide professional advice and full support for the competition. A total of 15 outstanding winners were selected from the judging by five professional independent judges (Mr. Zhang Zikang, former director of the Central Academy of Fine Arts Art Museum, professor, and doctoral advisor; Mr. Chen Tong, teacher, artist, publisher, and critic; Mr. Qiu Anxiong, artist; Ms. Wu Wei, critic, curator; and Mr. Lorenz Helbing, founder of ShanghART Gallery). The winning artworks will be exhibited nationwide to showcase the unique charm of contemporary ink and the thinking of campus talents. This year, the Awards will have two categories - Campus Talent and Emerging Artist two categories and launched on the same date as the "UOB Ink Art Award" in Hong Kong SAR. The new Emerging Artist category is open to young artists aged 35 and under and selected by a panel of judges. To inspire diverse young talents’ innovative inspiration and stimulate their creative enthusiasm, the Awards will increase the selection dimensions, which aims to encourage more artists to express their ink art and feel the openness and sustainability of the Awards.

R.A.R.O. is an international program of residencies for artists that starts from the need to generate links and exchanges.

In the residencies we carry out, we contemplate artistic production and reflection in relation to synergies and multidisciplinary collaborations. Our proposal is a delocalized and self-managed program that works through a containment network made up of 20 workshops of local artists willing to receive others in their spaces. Our dynamics are mainly itinerant and linking.

Since 2014 we opened our doors in Buenos Aires, a city in which we have received more than 120 residents and where we had generated different scholarship programs for both Argentine and foreign artists, thus developing agreements with various institutions and contributing to the strengthening of production and music. exchange between disciplines.

The key element of the residencies we propose is the possibility of working with different artists, curators, managers and researchers in an itinerant way during a certain time, this is key for the generation of spaces for dialogue and collaborations between those who participate and those who host them.

In parallel to the work processes in each space, we generate an agenda of activities such as visits to workshops, talks, clinics, among others, that are complementary and that nurture the experience of each resident, allowing them to interact with different spaces and actors according to the nature of their own projects.

We invite emerging and established, national and international, artists from all disciplines who are interested in carrying out itinerant residencies, to apply to our 2024 program in the city of Buenos Aires.

Duration of residency
The residencies must have a minimum duration of 4 weeks + an exhibition week. This date goes from September 1 to October 9 . Short Experiences – We also have other modalities, such as the Short Experiences program, to which you can apply if you have limited time. Since 2022 we have implemented a new work format that consists of the resident/s working for a short period of time focusing on their skills, knowledge and specific disciplines with teachers.

Accommodation
We offer multiple kinds of accommodation option to our residents. From hostels or shared rooms, to private apartments or private rooms in local artists houses. It all depends on the resident budget and needs.

Disciplines, work equipment and assistance
R.A.R.O.’s Residencies are aimed at artists, curators, cultural managers, both emerging and established, national or international coming from all disciplines who are interested in itinerant residences and who want to share ateliers with local artists for art-work production. With 27 studios to choose from, R.A.R.O. residencies cover a wide range of techniques with all kind of equipments and full assistance all the time.

Studio / Workspace
The key element to R.A.R.O.’s Itinerant Residencies is the opportunity to create, collaborate and travel through various artist spaces during the residence period. The multidisciplinary nature of R.A.R.O. allows for the resident to work in two or more ateliers and deepen into one or several disciplines in a short period of time. R.A.R.O.’s network of local ateliers allows interested residents to choose from them in order to develop a part of their production, as well undertaking collaborative works. Overview
We invite artists to retreat to Banff and spend time quietly working alone, looking inward, connecting with the natural world, and engaging with others away from professional stress and pressure.

With a focus on studio practice, artists will be encouraged to reflect on “why” they are making art, for “whom”, and to “what” end? In what ways do market influences and institutional expectations consciously or unconsciously impact our work? How does making art heal or help the world? Visual Arts Thematic Residency – The System and Other Universes welcomes participants to consider new, unique, or radical paradigms for being an artist in shifting, uncertain times.

The aim is not to seek conclusions, but to welcome concern, curiosity, and the unknown into a safe and supportive environment. Those who question the purpose and destinations of their practice and are open to exploring alternate routes and sources from which to create, are encouraged to apply.

This residency will be gently led, with an abundance of time to work in the studio and explore Minhrpa, Banff National Park, and Treaty 7 territory.

All manners and approaches of art-making are welcome.

What does the program offer?
This program offers a structured space where visual artists come together to create work and discuss the pertinent theme, as well as time and space to delve deeply into their practice while away from the constraints of everyday life. Through peer interaction, studio work, formal lectures, and studio visits from world-renowned visiting faculty, participants gain new ideas and insights that can be applied to creative exploration and professional development of their work.

Participants are provided with a studio, accessible 24 hours a day, as well as targeted access to our extensive facilities. Facility access is based on availability of facilitators, and priority access is given to those requesting their use in their initial application.

In addition, artists can build connections, create networks, and share their work with other artists-in-residence and the public.

Who should apply?
This residency is for visual artists who have completed formal education or training at the post-secondary level, or who have acquired equivalent experience through traditional knowledge and practices, and who have received recognition from their peers.

This program is designed for participation over the entire program period. Variable dates will not be considered. Collaborative groups are welcome to apply. Groups no larger than two people will be considered.

Banff Centre invites applicants from anywhere in the world, and artists of all ages (18+), backgrounds, gender identities, and expressions.

The City of Walnut Creek, CA is seeking professional artists and/or artist teams to submit qualifications to create significant, site-specific public artwork(s) as part of the new Heather Farm Park Aquatic and Community Center located at 301 N San Carlos Dr in Walnut Creek. Project construction will begin in 2025 and associated public art should adhere to the City’s public art mission statement, found in the Public Art Master Plan, to “integrate art into the City’s everyday environment and build a dynamic, exciting, and engaging place to live, visit and do business. Loghaven Artist Residency’s mission is to serve artists by providing them with a transformative residency experience and continued post-residency support. The residency is located on ninety acres of woodland in Knoxville, Tennessee. Artists live in five historic log cabins that have been both rehabilitated and modernized to create an ideal setting for reflection and work, and they have access to new, purpose-built studio space. All Loghaven Fellows are awarded stipends to support the creation of new work during the residency.

The Artist in Residence program at Grand Canyon National Park offers artists the opportunity to practice and share their discipline with park visitors at one of the most beautiful sites in the world. Through impactful, site-specific, community-engaged work, the program seeks to inspire the community to deepen their knowledge of Grand Canyon National Park.

The program is tied directly to the National Park Service Interpretation and Resource Education goal of inclusive storytelling and Grand Canyon Conservancy’s mission to inspire generations of park champions to cherish and support the natural and cultural wonder of Grand Canyon.

Contemporary artists focused on site-specific community engagement, social practice, and immersive or interactive artworks are encouraged to apply. We seek a variety of voices and strategies for engaging our visitors in underrepresented stories about the park.

Annually, three artists are selected to live and work on the South Rim of Grand Canyon in Arizona. Artists in Residence stay in a private apartment overlooking the Canyon for 3-10 weeks and receive media exposure, a weekly stipend, and modest support with supply and travel costs. Additionally, residents have special access to Grand Canyon National Park, park leadership, staff expertise, on-site resources, archives, and international visitors. Alumni are often invited to participate in additional opportunities like proposal reviews, webinars, blog posts, and local exhibitions.

n 2025, three artists will be selected to live and work on Arizona's South Rim of Grand Canyon. Artists in Residence are expected to deliver an interactive project with programming to our guests and/or community during their stay.

Residency Period

Artists may indicate their preferred dates (3 -10 weeks) during the following months. The most popular months for visiting the park are in bold. Because residencies are awarded in order of a person’s acceptance to the program, preferred dates cannot be guaranteed.

One artist a year is selected for an exhibition at Northern Arizona’s University School of Art & Design’s Beasley Gallery in Flagstaff.
Alumni are invited to participate in additional opportunities like proposal reviews, webinars, blog posts, and local exhibitions.
Selection

Proposals will be reviewed by a peer panel of alumni, local artists, and curators. Three artists will be selected for 2025. Those selected will be contacted with an offer around September 15, 2024. Spaces are offered in order of acceptance to the program and based on the applicant’s preferred time of year. A verbal commitment is required within one week of the offer.

Selected artists may not defer their residency to another year.

Upon acceptance, applicants must review residency protocols, sign several agreements, and complete a background check.

Priority will be given to:

Projects that show potential to meaningfully impact our community.
Projects that are well-researched, engaging, and specific to Grand Canyon.
Artists with demonstrated success engaging groups of people with their work.
Artists with experience in making work for public spaces.
Artists from historically underrepresented communities.

The Portrait explores the diverse and nuanced realm of expression through the art of portraiture, delving deep into the essence of individuality, cultural identity, and the universal human experience. Show us moments of despair, strength, joy, and thought. Take us on an immersive journey into the human soul, inviting viewers to contemplate the narrative and emotions behind the captured image.

The Portrait is an international open call for photographers ages 18 and older. ​​​​​​​All forms of two-dimensional images, traditional and non-conventional media, and conventional or alternative processes with a subjective analog or digital photographic base are welcome for submission.

Susquehanna Art Museum’s 9th annual juried exhibition invites artists to submit works that explore subjects relating to the domestic. In a time when social, political, and familial norms are being revealed and renegotiated on an international scale, the term ‘domestic’ relates to a wide range of topics.

Submitted works may include but are not limited to the following subject matter: the architecture or design of homes, neighborhoods, and cities; domestic labor; gender and social roles; domestic and foreign policies; domesticity; boundaries and borders; indigeneity; political and interpersonal relations; and domestication.

Selected artworks will lean into the complexity of what is considered domestic and offer a nuanced interpretation of the concept. Work in all media is welcome for consideration, and selections will be made based on the applicability to the theme as well as the group of pieces that work best as a whole. Submissions are limited to works with a maximum dimension of 72”.

The Residence:
Our house is located in Tagle, Suances Town Hall, Cantabria, in the north of Spain.
We are immersed in a geographical space full of human activity for many thousands of years and with an important heritage of Palaeolithic art. Altamira, Monte Castillo and Covalanas are the best known examples of the many existing caves in the region that preserve our first works of art.
Many thousands of years ago, a first person looked for the elements, generated the pigments, elaborated the tools, selected the space, observed the environment in detail, decided that he / she wanted to capture, went into the depth and darkness of a cave and, once there, in an awkward position, he / she created. Creating means making something out of nothing.
The origin of art is what guides us in our art programs, taking it as a reference for a new beginning and nature as the starting point to achieve it.
It is always a good time to start, restart, explore changes, look for new languages, or simply step out of our comfort zone.
Surrounded by this magic and its surroundings, our residents from all disciplines of the arts will develop their projects here.
Andrea Juan and Gabriel Penedo Diego will carry out continuous monitoring and support on the evolution of your project to encourage and stimulate its development until, at the end of the residency, you have transformed it into a work.

The invitation for the fall session of our Open Residency 2024 is extended to artists and creatives in the following plastic arts; visual arts, literature, performing arts, digital arts, and cinematography. Expectations towards the artist
– Attend and participate in CCCA’s scheduled programs, individual studio visits, and group activities to the best of Artist’s capacity. CCCA kindly requests that the Artist gives a 24-hour advance notice if unable to attend a studio visit or scheduled event.
– When applicable, donate a piece of Artist work to CCCA, so that proceeds from its sale help fund CCCA programs.
– Lead a VOLUNTARY project or activity involving the surrounding community. This might include teaching a class or leading a studio demonstration, workshop, or talk; helping come up with solutions to an existing problem; or any other opportunity to help elevate the community’s skills in art making/ appreciation, and/or quality of life in general.

Founded by Frederieke Sanders Taylor, the FST StudioProjects Fund encourages local studio practice, which is vital to the vibrancy of the arts, by defraying the costs of artist studio rents for artists in New York City.

Frederieke Sanders Taylor created FST StudioProjects Fund in 2017 to encourage studio practice, a vital component of the arts in New York City. Frederieke was a gallerist, life-long art collector, and trusted advisor to numerous arts organizations in New York. In all of these capacities, she had an abiding commitment to new and emerging artists and to the arts. Shortly before her death, Frederieke created FST StudioProjects Fund to provide studio rent for artists working in New York City.

Applications for 2024 are open from April 15, 2024 until July 15, 2024 at 12AM EST.

Decisions will be announced by October 1, 2024.

The following must be submitted in order to be considered:

1. An up-to-date resume that includes; artist’s name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address along with exhibition and educational background.

2. Five to eight images of recent works. Artists working in video may submit a combination of up to two videos and up to five stills. Please write a description (of no more than 60 words) about the content of each image.

3. An artist statement of no more than 500 words describing your art practice, your need for funding for your studio, and why you are committed to working in New York City.

4. Three references, including the name, email address, telephone number, and mailing address of each reference; references should be those who know you on a professional level and can comment on your recent work and artistic development.

5. A copy of the lease of current artist studio that names the applicant, the monthly cost, and lease start and end date. If the studio is shared, the applicant must still be named on the lease and the applicant should indicate the percentage of the rent that is due monthly.

Moving Narratives is a programme developed in collaboration with British Council, which supports creative practices committed to moving the world towards equitable and just futures.

Are you an artist or cultural practitioner recentring marginalised histories or challenging contemporary narratives? Then we invite you to apply for Cycle 2 of Moving Narratives: a multi-disciplinary programme, which supports artists to explore and strengthen creative practices that reconsider historical legacies and explore emancipatory movements. 

Dominant discourses and one-sided worldviews influence the organisation of society, politics, and individual life. This can lead to the exclusion of diverse experiences and perspectives, denying space for critical voices and sustaining social inequalities. Creative practices can play a crucial role in challenging the status quo and recentring marginalised narratives. By working with nuanced perspectives that show social and political complexities, artists have the power to expand our understanding of the past and reimagine our visions of the future.

Programme
A partnership between the Prince Claus Fund and British Council, each year Moving Narratives brings together 12 socially and politically engaged mid-career artists and cultural practitioners working across diverse mediums and approaches. Different interpretations of the mentorship’s overarching theme are welcomed. 

Supported by four mentors, participants are encouraged to collectively experiment, exchange, and develop artistic strategies that address dominant narratives and the inequalities they sustain. We invite applications from artists who are active within their local communities, and we prioritise practices that focus on intersectional and critical approaches that challenge dominant worldviews and discourses.

To foster conversations and collaborations within the cohort, and to support each artist in their practice, the programme includes workshops, reading groups, guest talks, and peer-to-peer review sessions. The mentors guide participants and provide constructive feedback, to encourage exploration and to challenge and support their practice. Most of the activities are online, but the cohort comes together twice in person for the Lab Weeks (six-day intensive mentoring sessions). Within the programme, the cohort collectively creates a joint project in the form of a printed publication and online platform.  

Additionally, each participant receives an award of €10.000 to work on the project or body of work outlined in their application. While the grant is not limited to a strict project plan or budget, the participant’s proposed project is used as a baseline for the programme and informs the sessions with the mentors.     

Emerging artists are defined as follows:

An emerging artist is typically someone who is in the early stages of their artistic career, often characterized by a growing body of work, limited recognition (regardless of the skill level or content of their work), and a developing reputation within their artistic community or industry. Emerging artists may have recently graduated from art school or recently begun showcasing their work publicly. They are usually exploring their artistic voice, experimenting with different techniques, styles, and mediums, and seeking new opportunities to exhibit or sell their work to a wider audience. An artist may be considered an emerging artist regardless of their age, experience, or skill level; essentially, an emerging artist is defined as one who has yet to reach a high level of career success or public recognition for their work.

Overview
The Adventure Filmmakers Workshop is an exceptional chance for independent and emerging filmmakers to advance their skills under the guidance of two of the world’s premier and proven adventure filmmakers. During a jam-packed 10 days in the fall, participants will hone their craft, strengthen their skills, and network and mingle with fellow filmmakers, industry insiders, and decision-makers.

This all takes place within the core of the Banff Centre Mountain Film and Book Festival, where epic stories are told through the eyes of adventurers, authors, photographers, and filmmakers from around the globe.

What does the program offer?
Workshop sessions will help participants sharpen their narrative, vision, organize their workflow, develop audio and editing techniques, and perfect their pitches. Our faculty promote an open, interactive, and creative atmosphere.

We pack the days with hands-on practice, lively discussion, and brainstorming. We’ll welcome industry insiders as guest speakers, offering rare access to potential mentors, collaborators, sponsors, and backers. The workshop includes on-campus lodging and meals — all participants have to do is focus on their craft and soak up the inspiration.

Who should apply?
This workshop was designed for filmmakers. To get the most from the program, applicants should have a strong desire to take the next step in all aspects of their filmmaking, including pre-production, pitching, location skills, the handling of the edit, and distribution. Past participants have included elite athletes transitioning to filmmaking, adventurers wanting to expand to different media platforms, and established filmmakers wanting to break into the adventure genre.

This program is aimed at those committed to filmmaking as a life choice. A strong knowledge of technical sound, camera, and editing is essential. Applicants are encouraged to focus on one specific film project they would like to develop and be prepared to share it with the group with a view to moving that idea into production in the near future.

*Scholarship of 100% is available and will be applied to cover tuition, and 50% is available to offset meals and accommodation costs.

Open to emerging artists around the world in the first five years of active practice.

This year’s prize asks artists to creatively respond to the theme 'Tomorrow'ing: Visions of a better future'.

A total prize fund of £20,000 will be split between six winners, five to receive £2,000 and one overall winner to receive £10,000. Winning artists will exhibit their work at Saatchi Gallery in London.

As part of a shared mission in making art, culture, and creativity accessible to everyone, this prize is a celebration of emerging artistic talent. It will highlight and stimulate dialogue around visual arts as a medium for positive global and social change and give exposure to emerging artists worldwide.

Our nonprofit, artist-run cooperative gallery has been a fixture in the NY art scene since 1974 when it opened in Soho and has moved with changing arts neighborhoods over the years to land at our current space at 56 Bogart St in Brooklyn, NY. Amos Eno Gallery is open Thursday-Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.and is run by a small community of professional artists whose members are vetted through a rigorous reviewing process by their peers. Artists don't have to reside in NYC for consideration but must be U.S. based. Artists working in all varieties of media, at all stages of their careers are encouraged to apply. Submissions from artists who identify as being part of under-represented communities are particularly encouraged to apply.

ARTIST MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

-Solo exhibitions every two to two-and-a-half years;

Fall 2024 Critique Group Application

The Amos Eno Gallery is thrilled to offer NYC-area artists, at any stage of their careers, the opportunity to work with several of its Member Artists in a 6-week Virtual Critique Group in Fall 2024 that will culminate in a pop-up exhibition in December 2024 / January 2025 at the gallery.

Accepted artists will have the opportunity to present their work digitally each week to the Moderators and the group for feedback, discourse, and recommendations during the 2.5-hour Zoom sessions.

What differentiates us:

This small critique group (6-8 artists plus 1-2 moderators per session) will help artists get dedicated feedback through discussions led by a rotating cohort of Amos Eno Gallery member artists whose professional experience includes teaching, design, curating, and diverse creative practice.
Unlike other crit groups, each participant will get up to 15-20 minutes of personalized feedback each week.
Crit group members will connect as artists in the NYC-area and can build new connections with each other and the Gallery to create a supportive artist community.
This Critique Group will culminate in a pop-up group show with one or two works by each participant in The Project Space at Amos Eno Gallery in December 2024 and/or January 2025.
The Gallery will provide and distribute press and marketing materials (web, newsletter, Instagram) about the group show to its network of contacts, and the Gallery will pursue press coverage of the show.
Member artists are donating their time as moderators, with program fees going to support gallery operations.

Please note: Admission to this group requires an application submission to be reviewed. All applicants will be juried by the Amos Eno Critique Group Committee and gallery director Ellen Sturm Niz.

Online Critique Group: Group size limited to 8 participants maximum

Cost: $300 per person (NYC area artists only)

Dates: Meeting on Zoom from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and November 6. (6 weeks / 2.5 hours each week with 15-minute break)

For over forty years residencies have been at the heart of YSP, offering opportunities for early career and emerging artists to reflect and move forward with their practice.

In 2018 we launched the Yorkshire Graduate Award. Building on this residency programme, YSP is offering another placement for a recently graduated BA or MA artist, from any Yorkshire-based university, to work and stay on-site for two weeks. The residency can take place at a mutually convenient time between autumn 2024 and spring 2025. We can be flexible with how the residency is scheduled, for example splitting the time into two separate weeks.

This Award is for anyone graduating from a Yorkshire university in 2024, and comprises:

– A residency for up to two weeks at YSP

– Access to our facilities including metal and wood workshops

– Fee of £750

– Up to £250 for materials

– On-site accommodation at YSP

– Return travel in the UK up to £150

– Food and hospitality

– Support from YSP’s Curatorial team

– Half-day support for YSP’s Technical team

– The opportunity for a public facing element, for example an event or open studio, which would be supported by presence on YSP’s social media and website.

The New England Regional Juried Exhibition is a juried show featuring the best of representational painting, drawing, and sculpture by regional artists who work in the realist tradition.

The exhibition will be on view in the historic President's Gallery at the Guild's Newbury Street location, which features a skylight to allow viewing of artworks in natural light.

Submission Guidelines:

Artists must complete and submit the entry form by July 20, 2024

Work must be representational with a strong academic background.

Accepted painting and drawing media include oil, acrylic, watercolor, gouache, pastel, graphite, charcoal, scratchboard, pen and ink, and pencil. Please check if using any other medium.

Prints (including giclées), kits, and AI generated art are ineligible. Using a print as an underpainting is also prohibited. The Guild has a preference for work done from life rather than photographs. Although works done from photography are not excluded, preference is given to work done from life, especially when the jurors are making the awards.

The submission fee is a flat fee of $50.00 for non-members. Associate Artists are exempt from the fee. The fee is one amount whether one, two, or three images are submitted. We accept high resolution (at least 300 ppi) digital jpeg images only! No slides or photographs, please. Artists retain all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. By entering the competition, artists selected to exhibit grant The Guild of Boston Artists the rights to use the selected image(s) on social media, the website, and printed materials for promotional purposes as well as the online show posted on The Guild of Boston Artists website.

All submissions should be clearly labeled with the artist's name, title of the work, size, medium, and retail price. Prices of the work must be established at the time of submission; no changes are allowed after a work is accepted. All works must be for sale with a retail price included. If a painting is sold, artists receive 55% of the sale price.

(The director retains the right to exclude work that significantly differs from submitted images or is not appropriately framed. Metal frames and unframed works are not permitted.)

Conversations with Artists invites all artists to submit artwork for possible inclusion in our online group exhibition Pattern & Repetition. We are looking for all kinds of artworks that addressed this theme. All materials will be considered, both 2D and 3D. All artists are encouraged to apply regardless of where they reside. The Penn Journal of Arts and Sciences (PJAS) is launching an Open Call for our upcoming issue, centered around the theme "How to Let Go." We invite submissions that explore this theme through creative articles, poetry, reviews, and art. Submissions are open for Pigeon Magazine issue no. 1. Focused on the culture around music and art in Los Angeles, California. Pigeon is looking for a semi-journalistic approach to narrative essays, articles, new music and venue reviews. Artists are allowed to submit critic articles along with photos or art that match the submission details.

All submissions must include a combination of image and a written piece.

The Denver Architecture Foundation (DAF) and the Colorado Photographic Arts Center (CPAC) are pleased to announce Y/OUR Denver 2024 Photo Competition: Denver Through Time.

Photographers of all skill levels are invited to submit new or older images of architectural spaces in Denver for this juried competition. Show us your images of Denver Through Time! Art Fair | Detroit is a three-day event showcasing contemporary affordable works ranging from emerging to mid-career artists, making it accessible to the general public.

​

The event is a celebration of art, culture, and community, offering diverse programming designed to enrich and inspire. We have provided no specific prompts or themes for the Art Fair, allowing each artist to approach it in their own way and connect to art buyers directly. We invite everyone to join us in celebrating contemporary art throughout various locations in Detroit. Experience a vibrant array of exhibitions, installations, performances, music, and engaging conversations.

We are accepting applications from independent curators and artists to curate their own 10 x 10 sq foot wall or floor space exhibition. 1-3 artists can be included per application for each 10 x 10 sq foot space. The exhibitions will take place in unique locations across the city of Detroit, including industrial spaces, vacant storefronts, and former factories. There is no fee to submit an application, but applicants whose proposals are selected are required to pay a participation fee of $100 per application (Independent Curator or Individual Artist).

Applicants are not restricted by location, but they will be responsible for the delivery of their artworks to and from the exhibition. Applicants are welcome to submit multiple distinct applications but they will be considered separately.

Seeking 20 artists to paint life-sized mermaid statues in Hernando County!

Florida’s Adventure Coast Visitors Bureau, Brooksville Main Street, and the Hernando County Fine Arts Council are excited to invite artists to submit their designs for the second round of the Mermaid Tale Trail!

Finished statues will be unveiled in November 2024 before being placed at parks and points of interest around Hernando County. There are currently 27 mermaid statues installed on the Mermaid Tale Trail.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces an art call for the gallery’s 14th Annual “Landscapes” Online Juried Art Competition for possible inclusion in the Gallery’s August 2024 online group art exhibition.

The City of Santa Clarita (City) is inviting artists to submit artwork for consideration for our upcoming “Nature’s Palette” juried exhibition, which will be on view at the First Floor Gallery located in Santa Clarita City Hall. This 5-Day retreat led by 2 inimitable instructors in a gorgeous retreat on the Central Coast in California, will immerse you in an exploration of art as artifact. Art has always been a means by which people leave behind traces of their existence. In this workshop, you will do the same by employing visual elements, photographs, or mementos that hold personal meaning or memory for you. There will be daily presentations, demonstrations, dedicated work time, and one one-on-one, guidance. Discussions will include record-keeping, storytelling, and creating a narrative in one's work. This is an exciting opportunity to propel your work into a new direction or to deepen your inquiry into your art practice.

Systems of organization, such as record-keeping, mapping or counting
Surfaces and textures that are worn and suggest a sense of age
Dualities or juxtapositions of ancient vs. contemporary
Conveying history or a sense of time in your work

Cultural artifacts - real or imagined

By examining the materials, techniques, and the concept of art as artifact within our artwork, we can gain valuable insights into our artistic development. Analyzing our artwork can also help us identify patterns or changes in our creative journey, allowing us to track our growth and evolution over time. This class is open to artists at any level and the focus is on finding each individual’s unique voice.

Applications are open for the second cycle of The Young Climate Prize award and mentorship programme. The prize was conceived by New York-based non-profit organisation The World Around to support the generation of designers and activists who were born into the climate crisis and uniquely positioned to address it.

The selected 25 individuals under 25 years of age will be paired and mentored by a Design Champion, a group of world renown architects, urbanists and designers. Each mentee will have at least three hour-long sessions with their mentor to amplify their projects, come up with new ideas and get inspiration from a caring professional. In addition to the 1:1 mentorships, the cohort will also embark on a ‘Design Academy’, between September and December 2024. Every weekend, The World Around Young Climate Prize will hold virtual workshops to provide support on everything, from marketing and fundraising to graphic design, communications and filmmaking.

Anyone aged 13 to 25 can submit their work. Applications and the programme are free for all and three winners –Young Climate Designer, Young Climate Voice and Young Climate Visionary – will be selected by a jury to present their work at The World Around’s annual summit in April 2025 in New York City, USA.

We encourage young people from anywhere in the world to share their projects. If English is not your first language you will be able to indicate this during the application process.

Afflatus Apparatus (A2) is a language, art, and cultural journal published online and in print. A2 is a space for creatives to present work inspired from an infinite spectrum. Our publication celebrates the avant-garde in addition to established forms. A2 appreciates both complex and simple works, specifically interested in emotionally intelligent and engaging projects that have been constructed with great care. Beyond the presentation of any creative composition, we are equally interested in exploring the relationship between the genesis of an idea and the completed piece. Afflatus Apparatus is an outlet for creatives to present projects and its aim is to inspire creativity and contemplation among members of the artistic and literary inclination. We strive to connect and inform the creative community as well as provide insight into the processes and works of our peers. While this is a publication for everyone, we have a particular interest in assembling a journal that is both beautiful but also informative regarding the struggles of producing work in the current scene medley that is so informed by mass production, consumption, and AI.

A2 is currently accepting submissions for publication online and submissions for publication in the inaugural print issue. We welcome short stories, flash fiction, graphic novels, nonfiction, poetry, plays/theater, satire, essays, reviews, op-eds, trend reports, painting, drawing, digital art, AI collaborations, photography, sculpture, modeling, enamel work, mosaics, music, dance and everything in between and/or beyond. We have a focus on exploring the process as well as the piece and will ask for a photo or artistic expression of the creative work in progress as well as a bio. We will also ask three questions related to your creative process and/or the state of creative culture at present. The questions will vary in topic and the answers should be relatively brief, not unlike flash fiction, the format will be short and sweet. This is to explore the process and thoughts of every creative we publish and to inspire thought and intrigue from the A2 community at large. We welcome the evocation of the emotional spectrum and admire pieces that push boundaries within and outside of the lines provided by culture and society. In the effort to strive toward equality, publication preference is provided where preference is needed.

Insurance is the responsibility of the artist.
Artists Responsibility
It will be the responsibility of the artist to deliver or ship accepted work to arrive at the gallery no later than the Sunday prior to the exhibit opening night.
Artist will provide a complete listing of titles and sales price of exhibited work no later than 7 days in advance of show.
Artist shall accept the responsibility for providing insurance on artwork and shall hold the city harmless.
At least 90% of the works shown by accepted artist must be available for sale.
Artist will agree to leave work on exhibit until the conclusion of the show, and remove work within one week of the conclusion of the show.

Yingge, situated southwest of the Taipei Basin, began its ceramic industry in 1804, leveraging its abundant clay and minerals. Over two centuries, it has grown into Taiwan's foremost ceramic city, boasting a rich heritage of ceramic culture and technology. Since 2010, the Yingge Ceramics Museum has spearheaded the Taiwan Ceramics Residency Program to preserve Yingge's cultural legacy and inject fresh energy into the city. Providing artists with space, equipment, and technical support, the program encourages both local and international creators to deeply engage with Yingge, fostering community exchanges and positioning Yingge as a hub for global ceramic art practice.

About artworks:
The Award is open to all printmaking disciplines, admitting digital printed artwork and monotype as well.
The general theme is The Sea and the Lighthouses, but this does not imply that the artwork must be figurative. All kinds of aesthetic languages are admitted.
The image and the paper must not exceed 20 x 20 cm. (7,8” x 7,8”)
There is no minimum image or paper size.
Artwork/s must be without mat, frame or glass.
You can submit up to 3 artworks paying only one participation fee.

Jury and awarding process:
The jury will be formed by three invited jurors.
The decision of the jury will be unappealable and notified to the winner artists by email and published on the website: www.MiniPrintCantabria.es
The jury will meet and assess all the works received physically and will select, among all those artworks, the three main awards (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
Once this choice has been made, a special prize for the artwork of an artist from the Community of Cantabria will be chosen from among the participants who meet the requirement of being born or being residents of Cantabria. This award aims to support the practice of graphic arts among artists from Cantabria.
Finally will be selected the Honorary Awards and Mentions.

Awards:
The following prizes will be awarded:
1st Prize: € 4000.-
2nd Prize: € 1500.-
3rd Prize: € 500.-
Mar Cantábrico Award: € 500.- This prize will be awarded to a work by an artist from Cantabria. The artist born and / or current resident in the territory of Cantabria will be recognized as such.

The awarded artworks will become part of the Heritage of the Art Collection of the Port Authority of Santander, maintaining them in deposit for their conservation and exhibition in the Faro Cabo Mayor Art Center.
The prizes will be transferred to the artists to a bank account that they indicate in a timely manner.

The jury will also grant Honorary Awards and Mentions.

Each participating artist, before July 31, 2024 must:

1. Complete the online registration form.
2. Pay the participation fee.
3. Send the artworks by mail post

The Exploration Residences are part of a professional program that assists residents with the research resources and local contacts necessary for their specific projects. Participants receive reviews of their projects by specialized professionals and enrich themselves with the vision of the ´ace team, as well as colleagues-in-residence, during our frequent “Brainstorming” meetings. For their part, SUB30 residents also receive academic tutoring and critiques.

These residencies are aimed to professional and emerging artists/performers, that come from any discipline within the Visual Arts, who can work independently in a visual, sound or performance research. Curators or art historians who want to have a space for reflection and take advantage of our expertises and library (specialized in photography, print and digital media) to research, study or write, while being immersed in an extraordinary and challenging cultural environment.

The Exploration Residences provides 4 weeks artistic “time out” emphasizing the process over the presentation of the results. This format encourages residents to get inspiration from the new experiences achieved through the interaction with other residents and the rich cultural environment that the city of Buenos Aires provides.

The 14th Annual PleinAir Salon is an online art competition with 12 monthly cycles, and is open to a variety of mediums and styles. It’s not just for plein air painters! We invite a variety of top master artists, museum directors and gallery owners to judge each month. All monthly winners are automatically included in the Annual Competition where the Grand Prize winner receives $15,000 and has their painting featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine, the #1 representational art magazine at Barnes & Noble.

In addition to a total of $50,000 in ALL Cash Prizes, winners receive exposure and recognition through our various magazines, websites, newsletters and social media platforms.

IHRAM Publishes is moving to a quarterly, themed literary edition!

We will be focusing on the following concerns:

FIRST AND FOURTH QUARTER: VOICE OF A REFUGEE: RESILIENCE AMIDST DISPLACEMENT.
According to the UNHCR, 117.2 million people will be forcibly displaced or stateless in 2023 — this is up nearly 100% in the past decade, and the most in recorded history. This issue will drive our literary magazine, bookending our publication year.

We are eager to publish firsthand experiences and factual, sensitive retellings of refugee experiences. We are not looking to publish fictional interpretations of the refugee experience at this time.

Themes: Journey, survival, identity, belonging, loss and resilience, hope, community, solidarity, cultural preservation, chosen family and blood relation, integration into new cultures, intersectionality, and global perspective.

SECOND QUARTER: FEMININE EMPOWERMENT.
Though women comprise more than 50% of the world's population, they only own 1% of the world's wealth. In some places, women still lack rights to own land or to inherit property, obtain access to credit, earn income, or to move up in their workplace, free from job discrimination. In legislatures around the world, women are outnumbered 4 to 1.

We are eager to publish firsthand experiences by women, factual retellings of stories told by women in the author's life, and reflections of the writer's personal experience with gendered inequality. We encourage submissions from, regardless of gender identity!

Themes: Economic empowerment, workplace equality, legal rights, women in leadership roles, educational opportunities, violence against women, health and wellbeing, comparison of historical and contemporary women's voices, solidarity, femininity, gender expression.

THIRD QUARTER: CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IN AFRICA.
Three out of four children do not attend any form of preschool in Central, West and sub-Saharan Africa. Over 20% of children between the ages of about 6 and 11 are out of school; followed by one-third of youth between the ages of about 12 and 14. Almost 60% of youth between the ages of about 15 and 17 are not in school.

We are eager to publish firsthand accounts from African Youth writers, reflections by adult writers on their youth experiences, and firsthand accounts from childhood educators, and factual retellings.

Themes: Access to education, barriers, early childhood development, childhood dreams and aspirations, value of the youth voice, role models, challenges faced by teachers.

Of course, we will continue to look, to listen and to learn about issues of concern for creators from Algeria to Zimbabwe, and everywhere in between! Up to 50% of each issue will be reserved for pieces that expand our understanding of human rights and social justice concerns not covered by the quarterly theme.
