The purpose of the Emerging Photographer Grant is to provide a $10,000 grant to visual storytellers at the beginning of their careers, to develop impactful visual narratives. The program places particular emphasis on photographers from undeserved and diverse communities, expanding access to resources and opportunities to bring their stories to life.

Fusion Art announces the Lines, Shapes & Objects 2026 Art Competition.

For this competition, both 2D and 3D artists, worldwide, are invited to submit their best art and photography depicting lines, shapes & objects. The artwork for this competition can range from realism to surrealism to abstraction and all artists, regardless of location or experience, are encouraged to submit their best representative and/or abstract work in any media.

Choice of a cash prize or complimentary one-year membership to Fusion Art's Members Gallery for Best in Show winners. Winners and finalists are provided with extensive worldwide publicity and promotion.

Summer residents receive 24-hour access to an adaptable, semi-private, 200–300 square foot studios in the historic Luther Barn. Accommodations include a private bedroom in a shared house, complete with common spaces, 1–2 full bathrooms, and a kitchen (artists participating in our Family Residency will receive a private house). Artists-in-residence also have access to their print shop and wood shop. Catskill Art Space (CAS) will accept applications from artists in all mediums, including and not limited to ceramics, digital, fiber, film/ video, glass, illustration, installations, painting, performance, photography, and sculpture. Please note artists who presented their work as part of the 2017-26 season are not eligible to apply at this time. All proposals will be reviewed by the CAS Artists Council, a group of professional mid-career and established visual, literary and performing artists local to the Catskill area acting as stewards and advocates for the organization's curatorial pursuits. The CCA Hamaguchi Emerging Artist Residency at Kala award is part of the Hamaguchi series of awards for the advancement of printmaking at California College of the Arts in partnership with the Kala Art Institute. The award represents a rich collaboration between the two institutions that creates a special opportunity for a recent BFA Printmaking graduate to work and learn in the dynamic Kala facilities located in Berkeley with a community of artists from all over the world.

The Rochester Public Library seeks book artists and paper sculptors for the 15th annual international juried exhibition on display in the Anthony Mascioli Gallery at the historic Central Library in downtown Rochester, NY from October 5 - December 31, 2026. The exhibition has earned an international reputation among book artists since 2011. From intricate bindings to transformed volumes, intricate folds and sweeping structures, the works push the boundaries of form and meaning, transforming books and paper into bold, thought-provoking works of art.

The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists is an annual $10,000 grant awarded to provide critical support to Black trans women whose work has often been under-recognized in the visual art field. In order to further recognize finalists for their artistic achievements, Queer|Art is pleased to announce that the grant will also provide a $1,250 award to four distinguished finalists. Winning artists and finalists will receive additional professional development resources and further guidance to bolster their creative development in the field.

Developing your Creative Practice supports cultural and creative practitioners who want to focus on their creative development. The program offers funding for periods of research, time to create new work, travel including international working, training, developing future ideas, networking or mentoring. The program encourages development by allowing artists and cultural practitioners to innovate, take creative risks, work in new ways and eventually reach new audiences. Match funding is not required to apply.

This call for submission is open to all artists 18 years of age or older living in the US. This is a juried exhibition for artists working in all styles of artwork, i.e. realism, expressionism, abstract 2D and 3D media, including sculpture. All artwork must be original in concept, design and execution. No size limitations.

Photography, digital art, computer art, reproductions (such as giclee, prints) are not acceptable unless part of a mixed media artwork or collage. Film, video, AI generated art, installation art or performance art are not accepted. No crafts (such as jewelry, beads) or kit work. No artwork previously exhibited in a judged show at the NAL will be accepted.

Arkansas Tech University offers a five-month artist residency supported by the Windgate Charitable Foundation. The program advances practicing artists' careers while presenting them as role models for the university community. The resident creates a permanent public artwork for the ATU campus, either a mural or free-standing sculpture. Residents engage with the campus community through guest lectures, public talks, student mentorship, and may teach one course. Hold Space Retreat for Artists of Color offers artists and cultural workers of color dedicated time for communal living, creative practice, and rest on Ox-Bow’s historic campus in Saugatuck, Michigan. Designed to nurture reflection, collaboration, and renewal, the retreat provides individuals or groups of up to twelve participants space to create, organize, and connect within a supportive environment. Retreats may be scheduled for one to seven nights between September 14–20, 2026.

The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation is excited to announce an open call for the seventh season of Sight/Geist, a series that supports emerging NYC-based film and performance artists. This annual exhibition showcases the diverse talents of the members of the Hunterdon Art Museum. The artists work in an array of media, including photography, sculpture, fiber, glass, printmaking, oils, acrylics, watercolors, pastel, pencil, and collage.

Kolaj Institute offers a four-week virtual workshop for collage artists to develop publishing projects such as zines, art catalogs, monographs, or books. Participants explore publishing models, production processes, printing options, copyright considerations, and marketing strategies. The workshop examines how books can function as exhibitions, artworks, and audience-building tools. Artists complete the program with either a finished publishing project or detailed plan for one, plus deeper understanding of publishing's role in art practice.

This Scholarship is offered in memory of the celebrated painter, Zsuzsi Roboz. Funds have been made available to support contemporary figurative artists of promise working in the United Kingdom, primarily in painting and drawing to study for one year at Morley College London, thanks to the generosity of the ‘Alfred Teddy Smith and Zsuzsi Roboz Art Trust’.

Buckham Fine Arts Project presents a national juried exhibition celebrating three-dimensional vessel works. The exhibition welcomes both functional and non-functional vessels in a wide range of sizes and materials including wood, stone, clay, glass, metal, paper, and fiberglass. The Northwest Arts Center at Minot State University presents the 31st year of the INT'L All Media juried exhibition. This exhibition explores the intersection of traditional Appalachian craft and contemporary artistic practices. Photography 4 Humanity, in partnership with Fotografiska Museum, presents a global open call exploring the theme HOME. The initiative asks photographers to capture the meaning of home today - representing safety, belonging, identity, memory, or loss - in response to climate disruption, conflict, migration, and displacement. Selected photographs are exhibited at United Nations Headquarters in New York on Human Rights Day. The Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026, marking a quarter-century of championing ambitious ideas on an intimate scale. Established in 2001 as Australia's first acquisitive award devoted to sculptures no larger than 80cm in any dimension, the Prize has grown into an internationally respected platform for creative brilliance. The 17th Epson International Pano Awards is dedicated to the art and craft of panoramic photography, and is the world's largest competition devoted to the genre. Since 2010, each year the top performing photographers are showcased in hundreds of publications worldwide.

The Ucross Native American Fellowships for Visual Artists and Writers provide a four-week residency and a stipend of $1,500 and a $2,000 award, as well the opportunity to present work publicly. For visual artists, this entails a featured gallery exhibition at Ucross the following year. For writers, this includes a featured reading and talk.

Museums of History NSW's biennial prize celebrates the achievements and creativity of women artists through works that respond to the historic house of Meroogal, its rich cultural heritage and enduring sense of place. Built in 1885, Meroogal was the cherished home of four generations of women from one family over 100 years. The prize is a regional, non-acquisitive competition and exhibition open to work in any medium. Selected artworks are displayed throughout the historic property in Nowra on the NSW South Coast.

The John Leslie Art Prize is open to all artists living and working in Australia for landscape paintings that have been completed since 1 March 2024. Inaugurated in 2000, the Prize is named after John Leslie OBE (1919-2016), Patron of the Gippsland Art Gallery. Florida CraftArt presents exhibition bringing together artists working in traditional metal casting methods and contemporary metal fabrication, emphasizing the transformative role of heat and process. A Sense of Place invites visual artists to explore diverse interpretations of the universal human desire to locate oneself, and the many ways place shapes human experience, identity, and belonging. This theme considers place not only as a physical location, but as an emotional and psychological landscape carried internally through memory, longing, and lived experience within an increasingly complex and fragmented world.

Desde Otro Suelo is a subsidized three-week residency program for eight artists born in Latin America or the Caribbean, or with direct parental ancestry from the region, who currently live and work in the United States. The program arises from an interest in creating a space of encounter for artistic practices shaped by experiences of migration, displacement, life across territories, and the multiple forms of belonging that characterize Latin American and Caribbean communities in the United States. Rather than addressing these experiences thematically, Desde Otro Suelo understands them as conditions that shape perspectives, modes of production, affective relationships, and ways of imagining the world.

This juried open call welcomes all mediums of visual and performance art, including but not limited to sculpture, fiber art, installation, video art, sound art, painting, photography, works on paper, and ceramics. For “i can’t get at the poem of this,” you are invited to share a little bit about the poetry that led to your piece or the story that drives the work. This is a call for “trying to find the words”—a familiar feeling or refrain of late. Your words don’t have to be a poem or paragraphs-long, but just an attempt at sharing what you’re giving your attention to or are tending to. 

They are seeking 20 contributors whose work will be featured in the publication, which will be available both online and in print. Queer Migrations celebrates the lives, movements, and imaginations of LGBTQIA+ migrants, refugees, and diasporic communities. They are interested in stories of migration, memory, belonging, displacement, survival, resistance, ancestry, and home, and welcome personal, political, historical, intimate, and experimental responses to these themes. They invite submissions from LGBTQIA+ people with lived experience of migration, displacement, diaspora, refuge, or transnational belonging, whose work and artistic practice explores, reflects on, or connects with queer migrations in all its forms, across a wide range of creative practices, including (but not limited to) visual art and writing.

The competition is open to all artists across Australia and attracts entries in all mediums. This year, the prize pool is valued at $55,000 and includes the acquisitive Gosford Art Prize worth $25,000, the Gosford Ceramics Prize $10,000, a First Nations Artist Prize $10,000 and the Moving Image Art Award $10,000. The Gosford Art Prize started as a community-driven project in 1970 and has grown to become one of the highlights of the Gallery’s exhibition calendar and an important part of the cultural landscape of the Central Coast. The 2026 iteration is the 27th time the prize will be presented at Gosford Regional Gallery.

The VH AWARD was initiated in 2016 for supporting emerging media artists who engage with the context of Asia. Through an online residency program and exhibitions across various global platforms, the VH AWARD has been encouraging artists to share artistic experiments, amplify voices on diverse issues, and push the boundaries of audiovisual artworks to reflect on how people understand themselves and one another in relation to the past, present and future. The Department of Art, Art History, and Design at Michigan State University seeks contemporary artworks addressing the concept of cursed persons, places, or things. The juried exhibition explores what it means for something to be cursed in 2026, examining themes like the role of technology in debunking or perpetuating curses, and the relationship between curses and art object aura. The exhibition takes place at SCENE Metrospace in downtown East Lansing, Michigan.

The Royal Society of Marine Artists seeks submissions of art inspired by the sea and marine environment, including harbours and shorelines, traditional craft and contemporary shipping, creeks, beaches, and wildlife involving tidal water. The RSMA Annual Exhibition is widely recognised as a showcase for the best in contemporary marine art, with selected work from the open entry hung alongside the work of members. The exhibition offers several prizes and awards. Selected artists will have their work exhibited at Mall Galleries, London, with potential for sales and commissions.

This exhibition is open to artists working in all media and celebrates those who are drawn to the vivid colors of the dark and possibilities of the night. It aims to showcase the many artistic worlds that emerge after sunset, whether quiet and contemplative, energetic and vibrant, dreamlike, or even unsettling. In doing so, this exhibition offers a rebuttal to the old saying: “Nothing good happens after midnight.” Works of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramic, video, installation, collage, printmaking, jewelry, mixed media, and beyond and invited to apply.

Every artist possesses a distinct lens through which they view the world. "Artistic Vision" exhibition is a showcase that brings together diverse creators to explore a central theme: how artists interpret and translate their internal perspectives into tangible expressions.

Northville Art House presents a juried exhibition featuring boundary-pushing artwork that inspires thought, provokes emotion, and induces awe. The exhibition welcomes bizarre, emotive, fantastic, and inspirational works up to 60 inches in any direction, excluding film, video, electronic, or AI artwork. Juried by artist and instructor Jean-Paul Aboudib, who holds an MFA from Wayne State University. The exhibition aims to surprise and thrill visitors with original works spanning diverse media and approaches.

The Exhibitions Committee is in the process of organizing solo and group exhibitions for 2027. This is a very competitive program as RAL can only accept a limited number of proposals each year. Artworks in any media will be reviewed. The RAL is situated in the town of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, a highly traveled area not only by the residents of this and the expanding surrounding communities, but also by art patrons from the Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York metropolitan areas. Over 30,000 people participate in Rehoboth Art League programs annually. Special exhibitions have played an important part of their programming since the league’s beginning, in1938. The RAL campus houses the Corkran, Tubbs, Ventures, and Homestead galleries.

Site:Brooklyn Gallery invites submissions across all mediums that explore contemporary seriality for their online exhibition 'Series: One Thing After Another.' The gallery examines how artists' use of series encompasses repetition, subtle shifts in sequence, or the deployment of quantity and variety. The exhibition explores seriality from historical precedents like Giotto's Arena Chapel and the Bayeux Tapestry to contemporary approaches reflecting industrial culture and mechanical reproduction. The juror is Matt Stromberg, a freelance arts writer and educator based in Los Angeles.

Light Space & Time Online Art Gallery announces the 16th Annual “Seascapes” Online Art Competition.

The gallery invites both 2D and 3D artists (including photography & digital art), regardless of where they reside, to apply to this competition by submitting their best representational or abstract art.

The “Seascapes” theme is the artist’s interpretation and depiction of seascape art. Seascape subjects would include scenes of coastal living, any ocean activities, seaside vistas and any related seashore subjects.

Chandra Cerrito / Art Advisors is developing a pre-qualified Interior Artist Pool for a pediatrics hospital in the San Francisco Bay Area’s East Bay. This world-class hospital serves diverse patients from all economic backgrounds, with ages ranging from infants to young adults. The New Hospital Building has multiple opportunities for interior artworks throughout the building. The Liberty Speciality Markets Art Award elevates graduate artists through a comprehensive two-year programme. Selected participants receive funding, training, exhibition and sales opportunities. Artists exhibit their work in Liberty's London office and participate in professional development programming culminating in an award ceremony. The Nomad Art Prize is an international award for the visual arts celebrating the dialogue between artistic creation and the places that inspire it. Founded on the belief that art is by its very nature nomadic — capable of crossing borders, cultures and contexts — the prize aims to discover 8 artists whose work embodies this spirit of movement. Each edition takes place in a different city, creating a shifting geography of contemporary art. In "Nomad Art Prize" the artists are invited to explore displacement, travel and the tension between roots and movement.

The Best of Tennessee Craft: 2026 Biennial exhibition showcases the fine craft of Tennessee, providing public visibility and recognition for the quality and diversity of craft found throughout the state. This juried exhibit will be hosted by the Art Museum of the University of Memphis, located in Memphis, Tennessee. Dates for the public exhibition are October 24, 2026 through December 12, 2026.

The 16th Annual Salon Art Prize, formerly the PleinAir Salon, is an online art competition with 11 monthly cycles, and is open to a variety of mediums and styles. They invite a variety of top master artists, museum directors and gallery owners to judge each month. All monthly winners (242) are automatically included in the Annual Competition where the Grand Prize Winners each receive $15,000—one featured on the cover of PleinAir Magazine and one on the cover of Fine Art Connoisseur.

In addition to over $65,000 in all cash prizes, winners receive exposure and recognition through their various magazines, websites, newsletters and social media platforms.

MusicOn+ InterArts Festival is open to students ages 6–18, regardless of academic background or artistic training, as well as emerging music composers under the age of 30. For artists above the age of 18 with strong submissions, selected individuals may be contacted regarding opportunities to present original works in person as invited artists. Applicants working across visual art, sound, movement, media, and interdisciplinary practices who approach creation as a way of thinking, exploring, and connecting ideas are welcome to apply.

The Tim Murphy Art Gallery is now accepting applications for its 2027 monthly shows. Artists should submit five digital images. All 3D work must be matted and framed (unless on gallery-wrapped canvas). Accepted media include photography, painting, fiber and glass. At least 90% of exhibited work must be for sale.

CASA PIP is a free-of-charge, unstructured residency for filmmakers who want time, peace, and space in nature to focus on their work. Designed with care to address the needs and wishes they themselves have had as filmmakers, and have observed with their peers and colleagues, the residency’s goal is to be fluid and accessible in the support of all the necessary stages and processes of great art, even including, sometimes, the doing of nothing.
