About M.J. Bogatin
M.J. BOGATIN ("Bo"), a founding member of the San Francisco law firm Bogatin, Corman & Gold. His Arts and Entertainment law practice includes all kinds of arts and intellectual property matters: visual, literary, performing, film and multimedia. He regularly handles large-scale public art commission contracts as well as visual artists’ moral rights claims.   He has training and experience as a mediator; has served on the boards of directors of several Bay Area non-profit arts organizations and is a long-time officer of California Lawyers for the Arts. He speaks often at legal workshops on copyright, trademark, and contract issues for artists. In 2022 he co-authored the 6th edition of the LEGAL GUIDE FOR THE VISUAL ARTIST, 300 pages on copyright, contracts, licensing, taxes and estate planning, the topics that are critical to the success of the professional visual artist.
