Rocks-by-the-Sea

Right at the water's edge where the incoming waves break over the ironshore rocks of the north coast is an exciting spot. I wanted to capture the energy of the wavelets and foamy spray kicking up and swirling around the jagged rocks.

I painted them in a blocky contemporary style, using a mixture of brushwork and palette knife techniques.

The canvas is extremely good quality and was imported and custom made for the purpose. The piece can be hung without a frame and has deep sides painted sky blue.
