A trip to Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset inspired this project. I took my son and he loved it. We were on a reccy for the film project 'Ammonite' as I was pencilled in as a supporting artist alongside Kate Winslet! I was super excited but it never came off. Nevermind! I have a couple of great pictures to show and a fabulous day out on one of the most fascinating beaches I know!
This was originally part of a series of six. I started with a sunset pastel gradient background and then created shapes that were reminiscent of the really interesting detritus on the beach and the lines and thread veins that run through the rocks, the Ammonites and the weird sea creatures...even birds! you will find all sorts in here!
I wanted a nice bright positive colour too, so you can't go wrong with pink, really!
