“THE OLD CHURCH” SIGNED ORIGINAL LIMITED EDITION LITHOGRAPH BY AMERICAN ARTIST AND PRINTMAKER WALTER DUBOIS RICHARDS (1907-2006)

This limited edition lithograph, a winter snow scene, features St. Aloysius Church (the first Roman Catholic Church in New Canaan, Connecticut built and dedicated in 1863),

The lithograph is signed in pencil by the artist in the margin below the image lower right: Walter DuBois Richards, titled in pencil in the margin below the image lower left: “The Old Church”, and numbered in the margin below the image center: 36/130. Artist’s monogram in the stone lower left corner: WDR.

Walter DuBois Richards, a gifted draftsman, is well known for his super realistic detailed prints. This lithograph is an excellent example of the artist’s graphic work. The image size measures 7 1/4 x 9 7/8 inches, printed on wove paper, the sheet with margins measures 9 3/4 x 10 7/8 inches. The lithograph comes unframed.
