“THE NEW FRONTIER”, 1961 SIGNED ORIGINAL COLOR MONOPRINT BY THE AMERICAN ARTIST AND PRINTMAKER LOUIS MONZA (1897-1984)

This wonderful naïve style color monoprint of two figures sitting on top of an elephant, a female nude and a man wearing a suit and top hat, is by the California artist Louis Monza. The monoprint is signed and dated in pencil by the artist in the margin below the image lower right: L. Monza 61, titled in pencil in the margin below the image lower left: “The New Frontier”, and numbered in pencil in the margin below the image center: (3). The monoprint is also titled and numbered in pencil in the margin lower left corner: “The New Frontier” - 3/3. This is a scarce print by the artist.

The image, printed on rice paper, measures 6 5/8 x 7 inches. The full sheet with margins measures 8 1/8 x 9 5/8 inches. The monoprint comes unframed.
