Seaside Blues

Deserted beach and softly lapping waves in a hundred hues of blue. What could be more calming? Inshore contrast and interest are created with suggested weeds and greenery, incorporating texture from coffee grounds. The gentle waves lap towards you across the shallows and further out there are glimmers of turquoise and deep ultramarines where the water deepens offshore.

I created this mixed media composition using added found items to create texture, like coffee grounds and plastic mesh, as well as gestural marks with oil pastel.

Painted on acrylic paper, this piece is suitable for framing under glass, with a deep mount.
