Coconut Bole

Can you feel yourself standing on this wild and windy beach, deserted for miles, to either side? Debris from a recent storm is thrown up on the foreshore, including this coconut bole with its interesting form and texture. The foamy breakers stretch towards you across the shallows and further out there are glimmers of turquoise and deep ultramarines where the water deepens offshore.

I created this mixed media composition using added found items to create texture, like natural rope and plastic mesh, as well as the layering and spatter of chunky acrylic paint.

Painted on acrylic paper, this piece is suitable for framing under glass, with a deep mount.
