Flamboyant

The Flamboyant, or Royal Poinciana tree is spectacular in flower - the intensity of the red-orange blooms against the blue sky is stunning. This particular specimen has a really interesting trunk and branches.

I painted it in palette knife and chunky acrylic paint for my friend Lineke's birthday present from her husband.

The canvas is extremely good quality and was imported and custom made for the purpose. The piece can be hung without a frame and has deep sides painted sky blue.
