From the Artist: A continuation of my exploration of half-square triangle designs, Portals features grommets and holes in addition to simple geometric shapes. Cutting the first hole in the quilt was a bit frightening, but I like the combination of the hard metal with the soft fabrics. I work with a huge number of different fabrics to achieve my signature style, and I enjoy the disparity between distance and up-close viewing.
