From the Artist: This quilt uses one of the most complex shapes I have devised and is the second in a series using a variation of this block. (The other one was included in Quilt National ’01). Some people think that the blocks have an Ecsher quality to them. (M.C. Ecsher, born in the Netherlands, was a graphic artist who is noted for his distinctive prints depicting intricate interlocking patterns and optical illusions.)
