From the Artist: These two quilts are part of the Mothers and Daughters series begun in 1996 with the assistance of a grant from the Visual Arts/ Crafts Fund of the Australia Council.
Being close to my mother, and with daughters of my own, I wanted to explore the relationships between us all, highlighting the differences that make us individuals but with an underlying connection to each other. The four pieces were made to hang individually or as a group in which the placement of each piece could be changed or rearranged. The other two quilts, Mavis and Judy, are held in the Annette Gero collection in Sydney. Mothers and Daughters #6........lines of communication was part of Quilt National 1999.
