Untitled by Ruggero Gamberini, Image 1.
In this untitled collage from 2003, Gamberini brings painted gesture and collage into close dialogue. Fragments of oil-painted paper overlap in a dense, interlocking composition, where broad brushstrokes, translucent layers, and abrupt cuts coexist. Vertical accents punctuate the surface, guiding the eye through a compressed field of colour and texture. The work balances immediacy and control, revealing a late practice in which painting is not abandoned but reconfigured through assembly.
