Untitled by Ruggero Gamberini, Image 1.
In this larger untitled collage from 2003, Gamberini expands his investigation of painted fragments into a more immersive field. Broad planes of oil-painted paper overlap in muted greens and blues, creating a layered surface that suggests depth, atmosphere, and slow movement. The brushwork remains visible and tactile, while the collage structure imposes a measured order on the composition. Monumental yet restrained, the work balances painterly freedom with structural clarity, embodying the mature synthesis of gesture and construction that defines Gamberini’s late practice.
