- Elevation
In 2000, I started to analyse the movement of the feet in the walking pattern. I questioned the gravity and wanted to understand balance through going to half-toes like dancers do. I ask my model to walk on half-toe to challenge their balance and play with gravity. Also, the elevation of the feet as non-dancers is something uncommon for men in daily life, and it brought to me the question of the sensuality of the feet as well as their biomechanical aspect. I wrote a lot of short stories and did research about them. I also interviewed two doctors about the question of the feet in relation to their practice and how people treat their feet. This model did not have a body practice and was quite disturbed about the challenge. But on the elevation while standing, it was a moment of grace.
See the other model, Albin, who performs the task with almost perfect control in a very serious way. But again, because on the contrary he worked his body on the physical level as an athlete, the outcome of his very well-built body shows a moment of grace. Walking on half-toe requires more attention and awareness.
My interest in the subject did not stop there.
