“PLAYING MOTHER”, c.1977 SIGNED ORIGINAL LIMITED EDITION COLOR LITHOGRAPH BY AMERICAN ARTIST, SCULPTOR AND PRINTMAKER, CHAIM GROSS (1902-1991)
This original limited edition color lithograph titled “Mother Playing” is by the artist Chaim Gross, considered to be one of the greatest American Modernist sculptors, and his graphic work is also highly celebrated. Known for his rendering of figures in various states of solitude, this lithograph is an excellent example of the artist's work.
Printed circa 1977, in an edition of 250 signed and numbered lithographs, plus an edition of 20 artist proofs (AP). This lithograph is signed in pencil by the artist in the margin below the image lower right: Chaim Gross, numbered in pencil in the margin below the image lower left: 15/250.
The image size measures 18 x 20 inches, printed on wove paper, the sheet with full margins measures 22 1/8 x 23 5/8 inches. The lithograph comes unframed.
