I’ve long been inspired by Angela Carter’s fairy tales, in which animal transformations give female protagonists a sense of agency and sexuality. Depicted here with cranberry breasts, I maternalize this figure, a hybrid creature, and draw attention to the mammaries--the lactation which unites all mammals.
