I wanted to capture some of the shyness and carefree look of our young Princess Elizabeth, before she assumed the weight of her life's dedication to duty, as Queen Elizabeth II.

Blocky brushwork and a limited palette keep the painting looking more contemporary.

I painted this live at the CAS Exhibition in honour of the Platinum Jubilee, 8 June 2022 in Chelmsford, Essex.
