White cotton with snowball and four pointed star or kite designs in the pastel printed cotton fabrics popular in the late 1920s and 1930s. This quilt was made by Hattie Hilty, Lucy’s mother. Lucy used this quilt as part of her bedding. It is well worn, but still displays the charm of the beautifully pieced colorful stars. The stars surround white snowballs that are quilted with fine stitches in a circular pattern to increase their pouf effect. The wide white border is stitched with a cable and hand edged in one of the pastel materials used in the stars.
