This was probably made by Lucy Hilty’s mother, Hattie Geiger Hilty. Each square is assembled separately, and then they are joined together by hand resulting in two layers of cotton cloth in the pastel print colors popular at the time. The cutwork and border are in pale green. This design was popular in the 1930s. It was featured in many women’s magazines.
