Animal patterns embroidered with red floss on 8” square muslin. Side borders are 5” wide and top and bottom borders are 7” wide. The outer muslin border quilted in straight slanted lines. The red inner border quilted with intertwined circles which repeat the four circles found in the embroidered blocks. The red lattice strips between blocks quilted in diamonds. Animal patterns printed in Sunday paper, possibly the Los Angeles Times.
Made by Ella Mae White for her daughter Blanche in 1926. It took 5 months to make. They lived in a rural area of Thousand Oaks, CA.
