Bands of Tension opens with an architecture of color — deep blue commanding the top, followed by cyan, magenta, black, and an intense red that anchors the bottom like something that refuses to move. The structure promises order. The surface refuses it. Scraped lines cut across the bands. Layers push through from underneath. Marks are made, overwritten, made again. What reads as geometry from a distance is, up close, a continuous argument between control and the force that will not be contained by it.
