Wintering refers to a time of reflection and restoration. Inspired by the open and airy paintings of Venice by the British artist, JMW Turner, the Wintering paintings contain an inner glow reminiscent of light on sea and sky. Wintering suggests a poetic period of introspection, regeneration and rebirth. The more subdued palette of these horizontal paintings also feels open, hopeful, energetic and free.
