An experiment at first, the idea of incorporating woodcut prints into the paintings themselves but printmaking is integral to the processes of Michael Rich. Coyote happened after a real-life encounter with a coyote. This black and white painting begins with collaged, original woodcut prints mounted to the canvas, then is layered with gesso and oil paint.
