Mid-sized, oil on canvas. Intensely colored and vibrant. This painting is all about contrast of light and dark. Michael is inspired in some ways by the Eastern painters who saw the process of painting a landscape as taking a metaphorical journey, a walk through the landscape toward a place of spiritual significance. This “Ramble “ through this invented world of light and color is a similar process for the artist here.
