"Through these paintings I tried to explore time, friction and residue. Colours laid on top of each other, dark on dark, while holding on to light. Watching textures accrue and remove each other, a conversation between paint and paint, and paint and paper/canvas. ... The paintings connect me to history and places I passed through, the layers of repeated scars and continuous mending. Looking for what feels robust and burnished, overlaid, organic. Enduring, but still fragile."
