This wonderful watercolor painting, a dusk scene landscape titled “Study for Stillwater”, is signed by the artist in the lower right corner: DON GRAY.

Oregon artist Don Gray is well known for his realistic watercolor landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. This watercolor, which evokes a mood that is transitional and reflective by capturing the brief ethereal beauty of the fading light, is an excellent example of the artist's early work. Painted to the edges on heavy stock watercolor paper, the image size measures 11 3/4 x 21 7/8 inches. Date created unknown, circa 1980s. The watercolor comes unframed.
