Since its inception in 2012, Baton Rouge General's Arts in Medicine program has provided a vast collection of visual arts to enhance the culture of care within.
Debora (Dee Dee) Wilbert has pursued art studies in earnest since retiring from Baton Rouge public schools where she provided services to students first as a special education teacher and then as a school-based occupational therapist. After raising three children with her husband Larry, she can now devote time and serious effort to painting, including participating in workshops and self-study and enjoying the challenges and satisfaction of this newest chapter in life. Painting with oils and soft pastel allows her to experience and express a deep appreciation of the variety and beauty of nature. She enjoys painting with the Baton Rouge Plein Air group and is a member of the Art Guild of Louisiana, Degas Pastel Society, New Orleans Art Association, and Pastel Society of America.
