Artist: Vanessa Cline Fuchs (b. 1977)
I am a Raleigh NC native who migrated all the way to Cary NC a decade ago. I have been creating art in one form or another for as long as I can remember, creating has always been my passion.
I attended NCSU College of Design, receiving a Bachelor’s in Industrial Design, with a concentration in Art and Design. After graduating from NCSU, I switched gears and pursued a career in Nursing. I attended Duke University School of Nursing, and graduated with a BSN. I practiced as an RN for many years, while also practicing my art in my spare time. I have operated a successful Etsy shop (LITdecor) since 2011, where I sell hand painted glassware.
Several years ago, I had to leave my Nursing career due to health issues. While I miss caring for patients, I have transitioned to full time artist- which I also love. In 2017, I decided to try my hand at watercolor painting, and fell in love with the medium. I initially concentrated on floral art, but gradually began to explore more abstract work.
My watercolor artwork is my exploration of shapes, patterns, and colors. I usually paint intuitively, with little pre-planning, letting each painting develop organically. My goal is to create artwork that elicits feelings of joy, excitement, and curiosity.
