Bio
Kristin Gibson’s vibrant paintings feel like a welcome hello. In the midst of uncertainty and spending much time at home, paintings and art offer a source of renewal and hopefulness. Kristin’s canvasses both brighten and warm the spaces and collections they become a part of. You’ll find pure joy and glimpses of her process in the brushwork, take in a harmony of color, and follow a painterly perspective that is fairly abstract, yet wonderfully familiar.
After study at ECU School of Art, Kristin’s career began in NC textile mills designing repeat patterns and developing color stories for yards and yards of floral fabrics printed before her eyes. This led to painting on the dining room table and in the salt air of Carolina Beach, while immersing herself in the Wilmington, NC art community –all as her two creative kids were growing and coloring alongside.
By sharing colorful canvasses and scarves under festival tents, Kristin enjoyed meeting collectors and fostered gallery relationships that for 23 years since, have represented and sold her contemporary, fully developed work. Enjoy visiting kristingibsonfineart.com, always happy to share new work coming out of her Raleigh, NC studio, and help you bring the painting you’ve been looking for into your home.
