Alethea Eriksson is a contemporary Swiss fine artist with South African roots. Her abstract expressionist works are loose, lyrical, energetic and evocative.
The artist grew up in South Africa where she studied art. She has lived in Switzerland since 1986. After giving up fulltime employment in 2012, Alethea has dedicated her time to painting. Passion, commitment, intensive training and autodidactic experimentation followed until the artist felt ready to show her work.
Since then, Alethea has exhibited in various group and solo shows in Switzerland, and more recently in Germany, UK and Romania. She also sells her work internationally online so her work is in collections world-wide. She is a member of SGBK (SwissAssociation of Women Artists).
"For me, painting is silent poetry.....My work is a celebration of the sense of well-being and freedom I experience in nature and while painting. The paintings themselves are an expression of emotion, an intuitive creative process and serendipity."
