This call is for artist submissions to the Depot shop. We are looking for unique handcrafted items to carry.  You must submit online and with appropriate visuals.  Failure to do so means that your work will not be considered until the next submission window.

Published deadlines MUST be met.  The shop committee must have time to jury. Please do not ask for the deadlines to be extended.

When you are considering what to submit, think about them as units.

For instance, for a pack of assorted note cards  - you might have four different images  in a set, but it would count as ONE item.

If you are submitting handmade cards, show a sample of multiple ones - this would count as one item.

If you are submitting a mug, it would be one unit but we might want to include several of the same item and it would count as ONE item.

You may submit five different items for consideration.  They will be considered, but that does not guarantee acceptance of all five. Each submission will be curated, please do not bring items that were not curated in.

Please make sure you read, understand, and agree to abide by the guidelines below.

Eligibility Criteria:

You must be a current member of LAA or the Depot to be considered for having handcrafted items in our shop.   Submissions will be reviewed by a committee and artists will be contacted.  On occasion, additional items might be sourced from non-members to provide diverse merchandise.

Rules and Terms:

If your work is selected, you will be issued a contract clarifying these terms.

At this time, contracts will be reviewed quarterly, based on sales and demands.    Prior to each quarter, a submission window will open and artists can submit new works for consideration.

The items in the shop must remain in the shop for the duration of the contract.

The Depot will retain a 30% commission on all items sold through the shop.  If you offer the same items in your studio, the price must be the same.   Any artist caught underselling the shop price while the same item is active in the shop will be banned from the shop.  If you decide you wish to have a studio sale, please inform us so that we can match your pricing for the duration of the sale.

All original artwork should be priced under $200.   Higher priced artwork should be displayed in your studio or on the gallery walls.

2d prints - must be delivered professionally wrapped  and sealed in appropriately sized cello bags. They should be delivered with signage identifying the artist and the name of the piece.  It should also state whether it is a limited or unlimited edition.

2d originals - unframed works on paper or canvas board should follow the same rules as prints.  Framed, small (under 8 x 10) original works will be considered for the shop.  They must be under the $200 price point,  with signage attached, and have frames in new condition.  All 2D work must be prepared to be displayed in a print bin. There is no guarantee of wall or shelf space.

3D work must be delivered with appropriate packing materials, such as boxes and cushioning material  - labeled with the name of the artist and piece so that it will make it home safely when it sells.   If it requires stands or displays, you will need to provide those.

Failure to adequately prepare your work according to these requirements means you run the risk of your work being refused or an additional surcharge being added to your pieces so that we can prepare them for sale.

Artists will be paid for items sold at the end of each month.  This applies to the items sold in the period BEFORE the pay out date.  Checks will be issued for commissions over $25. Commissions will roll over until you reach the $25 minimum or when you are no longer represented in the shop.

The shop absorbs all debit and credit card fees for items sold from the shop.  The shop also collects and pays all sales tax on sales.
