A minimum of one(1) and a maximum of three (3) images may be submitted (one image per piece of artwork). Artist works accepted into the exhibition will be notified by email on June 26th. All accepted artwork must be received at the Melvin Gallery located at Florida Southern College. Drop off date again will be July 3rd, from 10A -5P. Address for drop off and pick up:

Originality: Only original work is eligible. Original means the entries are the artist's own composition in concept and design, created by their own hands from their own sketches, reference photos, or other source materials created by the artist. Works created in a live or online class or workshop with the help or direction of an instructor are not eligible. Works based on another artist's work are not eligible, including using copyrighted photos as references or within the art unless explicit permission has been given.
Oils, watercolors, acrylics, drawings, graphics, mixed media, fiber, digital, photography, and sculpture are accepted.
2D works cannot exceed 48 x 48 inches including frames
2D art must be framed (preferably in a neutral frame such as black, white, or wood tones for exhibition hanging) , in good condition showing no scratches or loose corners. Mats must be clean and smoothly cut. Plexiglas or glass is acceptable in framing.
Canvas 1 inch or less must be framed. Gallery wrapped canvases 1.5 inches or more can be submitted without frames as long as edges are finished to eliminate all white and show no staples.
No sawtooth hangers! Screw eyes and hanging wire must be attached firmly to the back of the piece. Please allow slack of wire to accommodate the hanging system. Do not stretch the wire completely taut across.
3D works must be wired for hanging or fit safely on a pedestal provided. If any piece does not fit on our pedestals, the artist must provide proper placement and showing of their artwork. Oversized works must be able to be placed on the floor and be free-standing.
2D and 3D pieces to be hung cannot exceed 20 lbs.
Unacceptable works: Works more that three (3) years old, works that have received an award at this venue, works submitted within the last 12 months, giclee reproductions, crafts, jewelry, copies of published work, pieces requiring electricity, pieces produced by artificial intelligence (AI) or any works deemed potentially offensive to the community. Lakeland Arts Association reserves the right to refuse work deemed to be in violation of any exhibition rules and guidelines.
