Artist: Anne Noggle (American, 1922-2005)
American photographer. Served as a military pilot in World War II and began her career as a photographer in her late forties. Did not attend college until the age of 38, where she studied photography and art history at the University of New Mexico. Her work challenges stereotypes and explores identity and the female body, often through self-portraiture. In 1970, became the first curator of photography at the New Mexico Museum of Art.
