Eden Incommendatus

"Incommendatus" means "without a protector". In this painting, "Eden" is in disarray, the Tree of Life has fallen, while a dissolute young man throws matches at the Tree of Knowledge. The woman sleeps in the embrace of a snake, with no awareness of the state of the garden around her.
