The Honeytone series celebrates the soulful connection between music, memory, and craftsmanship. Each painting features a guitar rendered through my unique process of transferring ink from recycled magazines onto beeswax-coated panels, creating a mosaic-like surface that shimmers with both color and history.
By piecing together fragments of printed imagery, I echo the way songs themselves are built—layer by layer, from influence and experience. The beeswax adds warmth and depth, much like the resonance of a well-loved instrument, while the recycled ink honors the passage of time and the transformation of materials.
These guitars—whether inspired by a Telecaster, Stratocaster, or the bluesy patina of a Gretsch—become symbols of creative energy and individuality. Each one reflects the spirit of the musicians who played them and the enduring dialogue between sound and visual art.
In Honeytone, I’m exploring the harmony between music and material, craft and emotion, and the subtle ways both can make us feel more connected—to memory, to each other, and to the moment of creation itself.
