For the past several years we have visited Sayulita, Mexico during our mid-winter break for a much needed infusion of sun during our long, dark, northwest winters. This timing happily aligns with the annual Sayulita Days festivities in the week leading up to the 24th of February, Mexican Flag day. The town is even more alive and festive with music and cultural events as well as a hosting a large carnival fair in the town's baseball field that runs nightly after sundown.
The acrylic painting, Carnaval , was inspired by the view of the carnival lights from a top the Ferris wheel.
