Carl is an American contemporary artist, living in Tyler Texas. Born and raised in southern Utah he has called East Texas home for over a decade. With a deep love and respect for nature he loves the quiet country life of rural Texas. Carl is a late blooming intermediate, mostly self-taught, award­ winning artist who is drawn to landscape, symbolism, portraits, impressionism, and abstract painting. His art is heavily influenced and determined by emotional forces. As a way of embracing the human experience; grief, loss, love, awakening, renewal and acceptance. His landscapes are inspired mostly by dramatic forces of nature and or the rural charm of a back country road that reminds him of his childhood days on the farm. His spirit and imagination may dwell in the desert of southern Utah, Nevada and Arizona, but his feet are now firmly planted in East Texas. Carl predominately uses acrylic mediums.
