MICHELLE PHILIP
For over three decades, my journey as an artist has been rooted in the rich traditions of traditional oil painting and drawing. As the founder of the Classical Art Academy, I had the privilege of not only creating my own art, but also teaching hundreds of aspiring artists the intricate techniques of the old masters. I taught drawing, painting, anatomy, perspective, color mixing, and composition. I am now retired from teaching, and I am enjoying this time to open my mind and my heart to all the different ways of creating meaningful art.
My desire as an artist is to create art that brings people joy, perhaps even tickling a distant memory or emotion buried inside. In my subject matter, I often focus on the ways people all over the world create charming homes and villages. I also love to paint angels, animals, and gardens.
My technique is a collaboration between oil, acrylic, digital, and watercolor. I use whatever medium it takes to get the image to emerge from my interior vision into a painting that can hang on the wall.
I do not sell rights to my work to the mass art print market. Most of my paintings are one of a kind, and no other print will be made. If a piece proves to be particularly popular with collectors, I will open it up to a limited edition of 25.
