Available in the Studio, Pawtucket but consigned to Adler & Co., ArtNet - A painting student, struggling to mix color while working on a landscape painting, asked Michael, “What is the color of sky?” The question lingered with the artist while driving home at sunset, clouds parting over the waters in Bristol, Rhode Island, revealing intense color of extreme beauty. This painting is to quote the artist, "my best response I could come up with at the time."
Michael has long been inspired not only by the beauty of nature - the sea and sky over the waters of New England, but also the depiction of Nature in the works of artists such as Turner, Corot and Monet. He sees his form of abstraction as continuing and responding to the traditions of these artists.
