This painting is to quote the artist, "my best response I could come up with at the time."
Michael has long been inspired not only by the beauty of nature - the sea and sky over the waters of New England, but also the depiction of Nature in the works of artists such as Turner, Corot and Monet. He sees his form of abstraction as continuing and responding to the traditions of these artists.
