Vertical, large-scale, oil on canvas abstraction is a gestural mix of greens, reds and warm colors. This painting is inspired directly from the natural world surrounding my home studio. A move to the countryside last year, has brought a change to my work. I have long been inspired by landscapes and seascapes, mostly from my travels. Now I am looking out the window of my studio and see wildlife and birds along with the dramatic changing of seasons here in New England. Tall pines and deep, forest fauna provide a million shades of green to work from. The gestural energy of the painting is a direct response to the ever-changing environment, particularly in the Spring, when the landscape is radically transformed with new growth everywhere.
