This vertical, boldly colored, oil on canvas is a response to Michael’s most recent trip to Rome, Italy. Inspired by the Baroque beauty found in the sculpture of Bernini and the paintings of Caravaggio, Michael brings an attitude of sweeping gestures and intense color to this work. Red and yellow dominate this abstraction while suggesting an energetic and irascible landscape.
